Troy sure knows his stuff, you are lucky to have him on the farm with you both. Sure does help to do that work yourselves, saves alot of dollars.

We would be in a world of hurt without him! He’s taught me quite a bit about engines, very proud of him!

Great video Tom. Your son is a talent! Wow...what a triumph...and you guys did 2 in 1 winter! One way ya can tell he's a natural, just from the simple fact of how he labels everything. I'm still blown away that an engine with only 3100 hours would go...what's the weak spot in the 9.0L's? 9670 has always been my dream combine and now I'm not so sure with those engines knowingly having problems. It seems like when Deere had to meet our wonderful Government's emission standards (even back then with EGR), the previous reliability you could count on with Deere long blocks, went right out the window. 9560's 9570's with the 6.8 are junk, and now it sounds like the 9.0 have their problems....aye yai yai...what us farmers are always left with to pick up the pieces.

We’re lucky to have Troy working with us! We have friends with less hours than ours have head gasket and block failures. I think the S series have better engines in them. Thanks for watching and the comments.

we bought a 9770 3150 hrs cut 40 acers of beans and then overhauled the 9.0 craper. 13,5 is also a crapper run away!!! they all sell them at or around 2500-3200 hours fora reason.@@Thewaywefarm

Great video! Heck of a winter two major engine repairs $$. Kind of bummer only 3100 hours and having to overhaul an engine. I like the black and green paint looks sharp.

Hopefully we are done with engines for a few years. We think the contrast looks good too. Thanks for watching
