Apologies for @chopsgarage disappearing throughout as he rapidly used up his computer storage and some of the audio interference. I hope it doesn't ruin what is an otherwise great episode ft @cardealermagazine
For the benifit of those making comments reference me showing "disinterest". It could not be futher from the truth. Joe was messaging me to let me know I had run out of memory and therefore was not being recorded. This is why I was looking down and using my phone. I was then frantically trying to choose what images of my stock and walk around videos I could safely delete to free up space. The periods I am off camera was not me wandering of but the sections where the memory ran out. Joe later saved the day with a screen record and I was then able to fully concentrate. So my "disinterest" was in fact me sacraficing my iwn stired content for the benefit of the podcast. Hope this helps thoe reasonable people out there understand the situation.
Don't listen to the negative comments on here some people think they know it all but actually know nothing. All three of you keep up the great podcasts 😊😊
Hey @ChopsGarage don't listen to the haters, there always there and they will always be haters. Keep doing what you do, keep producing the content and the podcast is brilliant as are all the channels. Ive been out of the industry for nearly 8 years (was in it for 30 years before that but had to close down my leasing company because one of my biggest customers went bust owning me hundreds of thousands) Anyway, even after that i cant keep away so starting right at the bottom again and absolutely loving every minute. You and Jo (and James) have done it and are doing it day by day...loads of armchair experts out there...just ignore them my friend, keep producing the content.
Best guest yet. I really enjoy James’ videos, what a top bloke. What with the Berrow Weekly, Car Dealer Pro (more of Dave please!) and James’ Video Diary, what more could anybody want. #firstclass
You guys should get together and do a challenge, the Lovely Car Company have a Nissan Leaf they cannot shift the challenge should be they drive it down to which ever of you is nearest and then that person has a month to sell it , if they fail they then have to drive it to the next person who has a month to sell it, if none of you can sell it, its Sophie turn!
Really like James , glad you got him on. He’s thoroughly professional in everything he does. I’ve been a reader of Car Dealer Magazine (website) and a subscriber of his channel for a while now (as a consumer). Anyone who’s not seen his AI inspired YT content should get over to the channel and see the journey he’s been on. All his other motor trade content is good too.
Doesn’t High Peak Auto’s prepare all his cars before he puts them up for sale? As a customer, I would prefer to go and see a car fully prepared, it shows professionalism and I believe that the customer is more likely to part with their money? Surely you would be able to do the hand-over quicker and have less stress, I.e customers calling asking if the car is ready? 😊 I appreciate, it gets more difficult where you have lots of stock and buying multiple cars at once..
Really great podcast, I get everything prepd prior to advertising, wouldn't do it any other way. Bit of an eye opener that 2 guys don't take a wage out of cars tho (!)
From a customers perspective you know what you're getting when a car is advertised fully prepped. I think it's a must to have them fully ready to go, but I see things from your perspective too.
This week showed how much of a financial and emotional roller-coaster the motor trade is. This is why we moved our main income activity to property in the early 2000s. As a part timer it is an interesting job. As a full time car retailer, life can be very stressful and a time for dollars job.
41:00 60 pics seems a bit over the top. Can be fine if you like details but i hate galleries where you have to plough through loads of similar photos to get yo the ones you want to see. Just wish photos were laid out better. First the basics - one from each side, then the cabin, front and back. And then the engine and boot. After those 10-15 basic photos then you can add all the more detailed and close up photos that you want.
On that shed van p ex I say we do a basic 400 quid p ex, scrap is 300 quid, so if they come over at that you can maybe move a bit, as dave says vans, particularly p ex ones are absolutely hammered, I don't buy them, back in the day a cheap van was great, buyers would accept anything, bits of string, gutter bolts, now they want them as good as a nice car, tbh I wouldn't want all my profit on a nice car sale tied up in a scrap van.
I’ve only just started watching, bad me but Joe you give others good advice. You need to get your money from the insurance company for your written off courtesy car & chase up your broker to get your policy back down- if not for the money just out of principle- all the money they make from us and you’re gifting them money or at very least letting them earn interest from it. Sure this will be a great podcast 😉
Another very interesting podcast & an obvious/interesting guest. Shame the audio interference only happened when he was speaking. These are on point every week.
Hi guys, love the videos! I'm thinking about starting up as a trader. Question for you Joe....if you don't self-warrant, so you buy a warranty when you sell a car - is there any come back on you in that scenario, or does the warranty provider take over the issue?
Where do you guys send your part ex to? I dont wanna deal with the bigger auctions as theyre always busy and taking a long time. we get about 5-10 a month. Would be good to know.
Clever Car Collection concept to today been brilliant. Haven’t half enjoyed the weekly videos. Only the usual strife of being grass roots in the trade.
Another great video guys but i always feel the old guy james is never really interested ,up and down on and off screen ,messing with keys and his head all over the place, adds not a lot to the Channel..Thanks again guys keep up the great work perhaps without James..
Another good video guys but i feel the old guy james is really never interested in the vlogs constantly up and down, messing with keys and never pays attention half the time and disappearing...much prefer the guy from the clever car company who is far less negative...Keep it up Joe and Dave love your content minus the big Fella...
That’s a bit unfair, James (Chops Garage) is a one man band so he’s doing it all himself the others have employees. It’s a pretty informal podcast anyway, just a few guys in the trade having a chat really..
@@trouble1871 look back on previous ones, he never sits still ,wandering off and/or disinterested ,fiddling with keys...just my thoughts nothing against the old fella.
James is a sound guy , I watch his TH-cam channel chops garage every week like. @trouble1871 said , he runs his own business completely on his own cleaning , prepping, running his website buying , selling handing over cars to buyers & doing all the administrative work , Dave & Joe have people working for them , not a easy task when you are a one man band .
@@shaun7638 Does it really matter Shaun? as said, James is a one man band, and why does it have to be 'more professional' Aaron? It's just folks having a lighthearted chat, and maybe a laugh if possible, nothing wrong with that, and I, for one, will still be watching. Please remember that Dave, Joe and James have their own main businesses to run, youtube is a sideline.
Don't really agree with keeping deposits, saying we've spent money on the car is what should be done in the first place, taking time to prep something is probably why customer looses interest in the first place and wants their dipper back, obviously if you've done other work over and above normal prep that's different. You'll find if you wait, prep the car so it's ready to go you'll not get deposits, just a St sale at the best price and it's on its way, with all the faults there are on modern cars it's just crazy listing them St away, customers have little foresight and can't see the finished article.

Chops ruined last video from memory too? Ha ha. Sack him I say! Only joking I like chops
@@DaleSteel I thought the audio on James Baggott was more annoying, was still good though.
@@toms4097 yeah your right tbh
Looking forward to Lee from car UK coming on, he's very, very knowledgeable and as sharp as a tack.

Great comment from dave about being too nice, totally right.
James (chops) Is amazing with technology and sitting still.....no one said! 😂😂
Its very difficult to make money out of anything now the cars are to expensive to buy
The reason I got an electric car was coz I was sick of the drama with diesel cars dpfs and timing chains I will take not hearing a noise for that
