    The review provided such great clarity with what this pedal does and doesn't do in such a concise way.

    For anyone wondering…you can mod the Lore pretty easily for an external tap tempo or for running a TRS to sync it with MIDI clock or in my case a Selah Quartz…that way if you have other midi pedals(like the Polymoon) you can sync the tempo to those pedals as well.

    Not going to lie, I have been waiting for you to do this pedal since seeing it. I love how you showcase all things ambient. I have bought several pedals solely from your demos, I have not been disappointed with a single purchase yet.

    Wow the sounds from 19:22 when the stereo phaser spread came in from the Polymoon is amazing..I wasn't going to get the Lore because it's mono but with this Polymoon technique I'm sold.

    You must be making these pedal companies some decent money. I always struggle to find GOOD demos of special and time based effects... that is until I found your channel. Such great audio capturing to really properly showcase these ambient tones. Not to mention such insanely good playing and creativity to bring these pedals to life. Was intrigued by this but I already have most of my favorite reverbs and delays... bought it halfway through your demo lol.

    Oh lore have mercy. Come for the review and stay for the secrets of tone.
    Im a sucker for a good reverse too but my Vox Tonelab isn't board friendly. However I'm at a dilemma about Slo, Lore and R1. I dig the stereo features of R1 but they all sound great.

    Something Walrus always seems to miss is that ambient sounds and the ability to use expression go hand in hand for so many musicians. The lack of expression/CV input in their base range of pedals is always a massive disappointment. Another area where OBNE nails it.

    • @markjohnstonofficial

    • @markjohnstonofficial
      @markjohnstonofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t know anything in stereo that’s as straight foreword as this for this kind of thing. But for “similar vein but in stereo” you’d probably end up going Microcosm, Zoia, or into the plugin world.

    • @liamcrittenden
      @liamcrittenden 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could get a boss dd-200 (it’s got an awesome reverse mode amongst many of awesome algorithms) and a stereo reverb of your choice and get a lot of similar tones, but having everything in one box in the lore is a huge plus. only con of the pedal is that it only does ambient stuff super well, whereas coupling two different pedals (a separate reverb and delay) would give you a wider variety of tones. The cool thing about the lore is that it does the ambient thing super super well on its own. I’m definitely a fan, but can see some of its limitations if you’re looking for a super versatile reverb.

    • @patrickr6505
      @patrickr6505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@liamcrittenden Yes you can achieve similar soundscapes with a delay and reverb.. however the Lore has two DSP chips running in series feeding back to the first one etc..The soundscapes are amazing and ethereal..It has that unique sound all of its own..I put a subtle stereo reverb after it and it enhances it to glorious dynamics..

    • @liamcrittenden
      @liamcrittenden 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patrickr6505 exactly. that’s what makes it so special and capable on its own. if I had the extra cash sitting around I’d totally get one, but for now I’m making my pedal situation work and getting as close to as a lore-esque tone as I can with my own gear.
