I really like that you truly understand the DIYer. And you don't just say "grab this and this..." You show the item or show how to use it in detail. The fact that you say it's OK to be budget friendly when you start or that you can go all out makes learning welding enjoyable. Thanks for taking the time to share your passion and the spirit of DIY. Have really enjoyed learning to Flux Core Weld. Iooking forward to the first welding proj vid. Que'uvole, from BK CA

I’m 52 and just getting started in welding. Purchased the Titanium 125 Flux welder, Titanium Auto Darkening Helmet, Harbor Freight folding welding table and welding cart. Plus already purchased everything on your list and then some. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, thank you for making them.

When I saw those $10 angle grinders, I bought 4 of them. Set them up just like you did. A cut off wheel, a grinder wheel, a flap disk & a wire wheel. That cup wheel has a mind of its own, so I got the other style, like the ones under your displayed cup wheel.
The only thing I differ from you on is I wanted a fixed shade helmet. I learned to brace my hand in the ready to weld position, flip the helmet, as soon as I pull the trigger, we're welding. I'll say this video is good, it should help a lot of people.
PS I have had good results with my Titan 125 & 0.30 wire.

Titanium 125, auto darkening helmet, gloves...been welding everything from go kart/mini bike/moped/atv frames to mower decks and sheet metal. Thats under $350 to be able to do most welding that a hobbyist/weekend warrior is going to do.

Theres some great auto darkening hoods for even as low as $35 online.
My brother wanted to learn how to weld so I made him a list.
Titanium 125 with 20% coupon was $120. Warrior angle grinder $10. 10 pack of cutoff wheels $5, 1 grinding wheel was $2 and a wire wheel was $5. Got a nice yeswelder auto hood for $32. Welpers were $9 and a 3 pack of gloves was 12. For under 200 bucks at the end with 6lbs of wire.

You sorta breezed over the welding table, and you are right. A beginner doesn't "need" one, but after I started welding more I found I just couldn't work on the floor any longer. For anyone wanting to build one, go to your local scrap yard/junkyard to source the materials. Much cheaper this route. Also, I'm heading over to the scrap yard this week to find a small steel plate. I love that portable round welding plate you have with the grounding nipple!

    • @-DIYPRO-
      @-DIYPRO-  ปีที่แล้ว

You are right on. I'll actually be doing a full table build here pretty soon. Showing how I did mine.

    • @simpleman283
      @simpleman283 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I hear so many people talking about getting material from the scrap yard, it makes me sad. Around here there are no scrap yards that will let us buy anything. They used to, but for whatever reason, not anymore.

Watched several of your videos before buying my Titanium Flux 125. Should've watched this too. I didn't realize the welder didn't have any wire. Smh. I was ready to weld something.

I'm subscribing. I've been doing some welding for a while but I want to get serious about it. I enjoyed this video and I intend to watch some more. I guess my avocation is watching TH-cam videos for information. I don't like most people who have channels. They act like ignorant assholes. Your personality is good and you don't try to "jazz" it up with a made up "personality."

From my experience, using nozzle dip sparingly is the right move. A small dap applied correctly goes a long way, saving you from constant purchases. Plus you definitely don't want it getting sucked up through gas line. Using too much can burn up your tip faster. Less is more in this situation.

Dumb question that I think I know the answer to, but for flux core, you don’t have auto rated, but is that because of the slag from the flux? Asking because I’m trying to figure out which kind of welder I’d like to pick up as a beginner, and I’d likely not be doing body work on a car, but would probably later be interested in doing floor pans, a muffler, etc where the welds aren’t going to be seen. I’d think flux core would work for that, unless there’s an actual science portion I’m not thinking about, at which point, I defer to your knowledge

    • @-DIYPRO-
      @-DIYPRO-  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

If you are welding in an enclosed area with no ventilation then yes, you will want a respirator. I lift my garage door halfway open and have another door on the other side that is open for ventilation.

      @-DIYPRO-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, I've been meaning to do a video about that exact thing. I open my garage and back door so I have a nice cross wind that takes the fumes pretty quick. This is something you should be doing with good ventilation and a respirator.

Dude why do you try soooo hard to sound like the dude from project farm…. ??? Serious question

    • @-DIYPRO-
      @-DIYPRO-  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you ask me I don't think I sound anything like him but you aren't the first to ask so maybe it's the editing style more than my voice. If asking about the way I sound sorry, that is my voice and I can't really change that. If editing then yes, I can see some similarities but to be honest not that many. There are other channels that are more similar to mine or visa versa than PF.
What other of my videos have you watched? What worked and what didn't? Are you a welder or DIYer? What kept you watching, the content or video style? These are serious questions that I like getting feedback on to help put out better videos.
