Kentucky Farmer Survives 6 Hours Trapped in Grain Bin

What was supposed to be an 8-min. job ended up nearly costing Kentucky farmer, Doug Omer his life after he jumped into a grain bin and was suddenly trapped. More than 6 hours later emergency rescue crews helped to free him and he now uses the ordeal as a warning to others that they need to slow down and think before they act.

I was driving down the road one day, and I saw what looked like a rare John Deere 8020 along with some other rare tractors parked in a farmers yard. I stopped in to see if it really was an 8020. Sure enough it was. The owner had quit farming, since his brother had died in a grain bin accident. I am happy to know you make it. God Bless.

Grain bins are probably one of the most dangerous and unpredictable piece of equipment on the farm and indecent’s can happen so suddenly but we just gotta thank the lord many more times that your still here with your family and friends. God Bless. ❤

Hey Farmers you do know Manufactures make a Variety of attachments that mount at the Center Sump that Break Up Chunks and stuff to prevent the Sump from Plugging Up ! & don’t Cry about the Cost either of you Value your Life at all for your Family!
Glad this Farmer survived his entrapment ! Very darn Lucky.
