- OpenAI announced a new flagship chatbot called GPT-4o, which can operate in 50 different languages with improved speed and quality, according to Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati. This announcement comes ahead of a potential deal between OpenAI and Apple (AAPL) to put ChatGPT in iPhones, Bloomberg reports.

It’s actually more efficient than gpt4 by a lot, that’s the main improvement, the efficiency increase is exponential compared to the increase in quality output. gpt4o only had better responses than gpt4 66% of the time, which is a small improvement compared to gpt3 to gpt4. So mainly an efficiency increase, which is why it will be free. Almost certainly they had to improve efficiency before making a better model, I expect the first version of gpt5, at least during development, to be very expensive compute wise, much more so than gpt4 was.
@@rabidlorax1650 Yeah this is like when PlayStation went from PS4 to PS4 Pro. It was mainly a power boost (in this case an efficiency boost) and it made a big difference.

Apple will mostl likely use GPT until they come out with their own. During openAI’s keynote they exclusively used apple products, did you notice?
