Darsan tata.. good to see our culture . I was grown up in abroad . So as a newar I don’t know my culture rituals. Thank you it really helped me . Keep on posting these sort if video. If possible also teach newari language . 😊🙏
Hello, Sir I loved your video and want to upload this video on my page too. The page is non-profit, about sharing and making Newari culture available on the web. Can i upload this? Best Regards.
Why are you using milk during the shagun? We always use dahi (yogurt). I've never seen people give milk. Very strange. Other than that, it was a very pleasant video to watch!
Hi. Subhyae! This ritual changes slightly amongst various Newar groups. I grew up with using yogurt to put on our temples and drinking aela with the Sagan. However for kids, especially in America, we used milk.
I too was wondering on that milk part as I have never seen such practice . It is either alchohal or curd insread but I read the reply below. So, it's okay Still I have a curiosity on sprinkling rice on the boy's head, I have seen doing 'ghwalla' . Is this also american modification as offering milk? Or it is in practice in your family? The boy did not bow on the feet either. You should have taught this. Generally after getting sagan and gift we do that. However, I appreciate your effort to preserve the culture/tradition and pass it on to the next generation even in the foreign land.
Jyapus are the inhabitants of the valley(ktathmandu valley)....They are a pure sub group of the Newar family.... Newars are the indigenous habitants of the valley from bhrikuti to araniko....
Hinduism followed by newar is mostly tantrik hinduism ..so alcohol meat/fish is essential part in most of their rituals..plus ganesh worshipped by newar is more of tantrik ganesh ..
Turning on captions makes this 1000x funnier
Excellent educative and beautiful video. Thank you.
Beautifully explained. It felt so great that you are teaching our culture to your children even in foreign land.

@@SamShakya Ohh okay, thank you for your answer
@@SamShakya could this be added in the narration ? I think not in speech but can be written with bigger font on the clip.

Whats the difference between NEWAR and JYAAPU ?
Jyapus are the inhabitants of the valley(ktathmandu valley)....They are a pure sub group of the Newar family....
Newars are the indigenous habitants of the valley from bhrikuti to araniko....
Sagun on the floor not cool hai ani glawla gareko khoita??
every newar people fellow the own rituals in practice.
alcohol or milk should by given by right hand to right hand should be on top of left hand with egg and fish while giving it by crossing the hand.
chi guna chu kha?
How is Ganesha offered egg and fish....it seems very weird to me being an Indian.
We don't offer any nonveg to ganpati here in maharashtra
Hinduism followed by newar is mostly tantrik hinduism ..so alcohol meat/fish is essential part in most of their rituals..plus ganesh worshipped by newar is more of tantrik ganesh ..
