What is that dog thing you see at 7:40?
Mines are lethal autonomous weapons, no AI required.
Then you put a roomba underneath and it’s even worse.
@@Nomurcy2u how much you willing to bet that some Ukrainian has already done this to troll the dumb🤬 russians? Lol.
I mean, he ain't wrong.
Wait until they use AI drones to spread them, include tiny processors that can distinguish between footsteps and prods, and make them out of materials that can’t be detected 😢
And an interesting thing a lot of Mines are also designed to be non instantaneously lethal. Because they're designed to maim to kill but in a way that will take up the most resources which usually causes the most suffering
As a former US Army Combat Engineer, I can assure you there was still paperwork to fill out when using the Volcano system to lay mines. Taking out mines was always more fun than laying them though.
the Volcano self-destructs after a few days, right?
@@safetymikeengland Yeah, you could set the delay to self detonation before deployment. Wasn't 100% reliable though. Still had to fill out a minefield placement record card though,
The miclic is for offensive operations. They're supposed to reverse and straighten out the "rope" first before detonating it to max its length
I really like your videos! You have a excelent mix of humor, information and simple termed explanations!

The "dogs are man's best friend" moment was hilarious
What was that thing?!
OMG he's so proud of that Santa
A man choses to be part of mine clearing teams? What a brave thing to do!
I had no idea the navy had dolphins. 😳
A few countries do!
Unbelievable that there are still estimated to be over 80k mines floating in the Baltic, that’s an eye-opener.
My friend Jared worked in EOD when he was in the service; dude was built like a brick shithouse by the time he left the Army!
As a combat engineer i love the miclic
Me too. Like a Bangalore torpedo on steroids.
7:39 WTF was that?!?! That thing is going to haunt my nightmares for years to come 😂
I need answers!
I think it's a "dummy" for military dog handlers training to provide first aid on their dog.
thanks for you awesome informative video's m8 i love it :) and ur humor is on point aswell :) thank you
best war and military content
Good video, buddy, so interesting to watch your videos 👌
If you have ever seen people mowing the sides of highways with a device on a boom. There is a good chance you have seen a flail mower. Pretty common for uneven and rough places. They are basically the same thing as those flail tanks and whatnot.
The only real major difference is the length of the flails. The length gives more standoff distance from the spindle.
as a long time fan, this feels like a re-upload
As a tax paying American, I think it’s safe to say, my tax dollars are going towards a good cause. That modified Abrams was badass
why aren't people talking about the use of animals? dogs and rodents have been used for mine disposal for decades. I feel like they deserve a more significant mention.
"MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!"
-the seagulls from "Find Nemo"
😁😁😜😜😁😁
Saw the bomb markers in rüdesheim am rhein last summer, it was kinda scary to walk so close to an place where there could be an bomb
I was up on the Golan heights maybe 5 years ago tons of old mine fields there, it was super unnerving walking by and knowing that just 20 feet over that fence you take the wrong step and whoosh you end up in whatever afterlife you believe in.
Seadoggo is man's best AQUATIC friend.
I like how he says the suit protects if something goes wrong you but doesn't mention you won't have hands anymore...

What’s in the box?!?!
A dog 🐶
That is how Seven should have ended
What actually was that though?
Wow I thought the movie Cold Locker was nuts. 👍
pretty good job.
10:53 amazing shockwave footage
The flails look cool, but I feel like a big roller would be simpler and more effective.
The D9 does wonders in that field.
A real metal monster
again 50% non-detection rate & missed mines are hazardous to both driver & machine.
@@alanhat5252 well the d9 is its not what you think (special army edition, and they don’t miss, they plow through everything everywhere, plus the rest of the vehicles are mostly mine proof).
I know its a serious topic but this gave me a game idea
07:39 what's up with the dog ?
was this video just called "How soldiers kill explosives" or something? now that it says "this is how minefields are cleared" i felt like clicking on it lol
7:39 😯 whats the dog doin?
Yea, you saw that too? That is kinda spooky. 👻 👻 👻
On our last deployment I once asked about the chance of coming it to contact with mines,
The co of said "at this current juncture there is a low risk of coming in to contact with any ordianance of that variety boys " the 2ic ( our sgt) said " At the current juncture lads no idea but if you can see a mine you're fine, if you don't see a mine it's probably your time
What is that dog thing you see at 7:40?
First, i thought it was a dead one 🤣. But I quickly saw it was a fake. But what is it, and what is it used for?
Welcome to my speedrun to the morgue
blessed dolphins, thank you for securing our costal safety :D
How do you send a dolphin a DD-214? Do they get benefits?
Legos are great therapy 😊
0:55 bro i have been there before! This is the war trophies park in Azerbaijan and i have a photo with this exact same missile
Bro those dolphins could be a video all their own!.
It would seem wise to me that modern mines would have some type of timer that would cause the mine to become inert after a few years.
that is unlikely for one to be so considerate towards people they are trying to kill. If people were to follow Geneva suggestions we wouldn't have wars in the first place.
We had this mines already in the 70s. But then you have a limited ammount of time for the minefield.
nice.
*5:00** Almost went into EOD. They couldn't promise that is what I would get, so I said nyet!*
7:39 What's in the box?!?!
I was a US army EOD man for 20 years. I retired before those silly suits entered service RVN 68 and 69. I participated in the Vietnam -- USA war games where we took second place. "Fighting for peace is like fuc..ing for chastity".
“Like Family Monopoly it’s Unbearably Long” 😂😂😂
Hate to see a fish bump into one of those water mines while a diver is there
Was that dog in a suitcase? There had to be a fake dog
A mine is a terrible thing to waste.
I passed all my stuff for EOD when I was in the Army. When I was bench pressing one day my elbow gave out on me and then they told me I had to get a permanent profile and that killed my whole EOD packet. The guys in the EOD unit I was doing security for were just as disappointed as me.
6:52 Ric Flair is that you?
DAMM
This is a cool video
I misread the title "this is how minefield are created" hours ago
What if people just used sonic waves or something like that to detonate mines?
I live in Cologne and we hae really many undetected Bombs from WW2 in the ground.
I just hurt my back helping the guy. 6:48
You changed to title so I clicked it.
princess diana had one of those
Nice 3 hours ago this video came out.
How does the US make sure that other countries don't steal or copy their equipment or tech when they sell their equipment to other countries
Don’t they swing them around to activate the detonator?
9:09 Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions
im osrry was that dog in a gun case?
Should say “This is how mine fields are SUPPOSED to be cleared”. They def had dudes from Bangladesh in catchers chest protectors and bicycle helmets crawling around looking for mines around Kandahar Air Field.
7:40 wtf is that? A fake dog?
Yes.
@@NotWhatYouThink Any context on it? What does it do, why is it used and how? Thanks
Yea, what was that used for? That's just weird.

Anyone notice the videos thumbnial was changed 3 times throughout the course of 18 hours?
red alerts 2 delphine's are awesome
Security is too lax. We need Dolphin Team Six.
Why not use semi-disposable commercial bulldozers with remote control kits?
The IDF operates armoured remote-controlled Caterpillar D9N bulldozers fitted with an armour kit, called "Raam HaShachar." Most of the time they use the manned version. They're not "semi-disposable" as a battle ready D9N probably costs $200k. 'Dozers are useful for clearing a narrow path for a military advance, but not at all useful for clearing a field or an urban environment - it turns valuable land into nothing worthwhile.
@@nightjarflyingCompared to a $3 million tank, $200k is cheap. By semi disposable I mean that its acceptable loss rate is higher than more expensive and manned equipment.
Okay I’m back what’s his accent ?
Not just with explosives like in EoD, but with any job (civilian or military) that can be summed up as "removal of hazardous material", I take my hat off to all of you who do it.
edit: btw something like a third of all shells fired during ww1 were gas shells, something like 10-25 percent of all artillery shells have been estimated to have been duds. So a quarter of a third of all shells are gas shells that didn't go off or in other terms around 8-9% of all shells fired on the western front. caveat: the error bars and overall range of the estimates over the years are pretty big. This is just meant to hammer the point home.
3:13 the UK Government is selling medical records to Palantir
So the red alert dolphin is real
It's only 3 kW? Really a puny laser like that can burn through metal at a distance?
'It's not what you think.' In fact it was everything I think. You could have gone in depth on the seals and dolphins, that would have been interesting. This is intended as constructive criticism.
As someone who isn't a military buff, this was more than informative enough for me.
Op tree just sends a request. No guarantee it’s actually done so why would I pay for a maybe
it's a bulldoser :chains payday 2
The best thing about mines is, that they can't be placed in the sky for a long time.
It’s never what I think
Im sorry but did they just pull a dog out of a suitcase?
Does any group in the military get the body cooling garments like the astronauts wear?
too much weight added
@@Amauvy some group has to get it.
why ask a question if you have the answer ? which one then ? and why overlook my answer too ? you could speak to a wall don't you ?

@@Amauvy Poor excuse given the exolegs we get these days.

Annnd how it would prolong endurance more than hamper it.
lol, did you thought about the cost for each soldier ? for what kind of benefit ? being spotted by electromagnetic radar ?@@brentonherbert7775
Get Mines with AirTags 😂
still the most widely used removal technique is digging with fingers, also the best detection rate.
What in the absolute fk was that "dog" at 7:40 !?
Why are there no nuclear mines?
Because that would be stupid
@@sH-ed5yf but nukes are the ultimate area denial system
@@haydnw869 and mines are chunky, imobile and very specific Systems. Just buy a missle. You can do the same thing but anywhere you want
But there are. They're called ADMs Atomic Demolition Munitions. Tactical and Strategic.
666 BILLION....
It's a booming industry
Could we make these bombs biodegradable?
They are….in about 2000 years. Explosives in any form are also fertilizer. Some, like the explosive filler used in WW1 are contaminated with heavy metals like arsenic. So you get patches of ground with verdant growth alongside patches of barren land. Walking the battlefield of verdun, you can see where German shells(contaminated) and French and British shells(uncontaminated) fell. The phosphate filler that the allies used wasn’t contaminated with arsenic. The nitrocellulose filler the Germans used was. So you get a shell crater that either grows a lot of vegetation or a shell crater that is still barren more than 100 years after the battle. With mines, the casing has to dissolve, break up or go away somehow before the explosives can be used as fertilizer. Anti personnel mines have thin casings designed to fragment on detonation and are generally packed with additional shrapnel producing elements. Anti tank mines have much thicker casings which last longer. Either way, no one has designed a deliberately biodegradable mine.
Will that life time job some
I'm pretty sure I've watched this video
If you’ve watched it in the past 22 hours, then yes!

Meanwhile the 5,000 mines just sat there.
