seeing that bike having trouble makes me so happy that i got the 2009 TE with fuel injection. started right up on the first or second kick after 5 months of not riding. electric start isnt working at the moment, but the kickstarter hasnt even let me down once in 4 years.
The left signal lights are a smart move to install. People tend to forget the driving manual part about hand signals. after driving for a couple a years/ month even.
i had to replace my clutch in my tc250 basically at 5 hrs ride time. made a horrid noise from the clutch cover and eventually the clutch would not let you coast. lots of bits of plates in the engine and filter screens. i can see why they have 3 oil filters now such a great design. anyways new clutch and problem solved not sure how the plates cracked tho :s
I have the same exact year and damn these things hate a cold start. I keep a can of throttle body cleaner on me which helps bring that crank time down dramatically. I find it more effective than starting fluid.. Anyway, I just can't think of what to do to have reliable cold starts other than replacing the carb completely. I rejetted it and everything and the thanks I get is a bunch whines and no vroom.
Did it have a vacuum leak? My te510 was starting this way until I replaced the intake manifold boot that was cracked. Still having some carb issues, but the bike runs and starts pretty good.
Hi bro .. please help me I can buy TE 450 2007 with carburetor or TE 450 2009 with Fuel Injection which one should I take? Is there a big problem to start this machine daily?
Furious Pit Bull I have 08 te450 FI. It's really reliable. Power delivery is really smooth. Starting is really quick and easy except when trying to kick start it. It prefers to be started by the electric starter. Suspension is a bit stiff for me. Handles great on the road but beats me up on the trail. She's a bit heavy for a dirt bike but she can take a beating and keep on going. Overall, I love this bike.
Hey man. I have the same make model of bike I bought off of a guy from quelph in January. I see you give quite a few primes with the throttle to start it..interesting as I've found it has been hard to cold start mine...will start like a top when warm..will try more throttle twists to see if that rectifies the situation
+Tommy B Thanks Tommy! I actually bought this used in 2008 and it came with the graphics at the time... not sure where you can get the wraps, sorry I can't be more help :(
These are definitely cold blooded beasts and don't like to be woken up in cold temps ;) These bikes have an AP (accelerator pump) but come default with a cap for some dumb reason. If twisting the throttle 4-5 times before starting it doesn't help at all yours might still be capped - check out this video for how to check and remove the cap: /watch?v=mo-vHZm37U4
Late answer but the US uses a different octane reading than we do in Europe. In the United States gas stations describe the types of gasoline based on the Pump Octane Number (PON). That number is the average between RON and MON. So 98 RON (Europe) is about 93 PON (US). So 94 Octane in the US is really "ultra".
Says who? All depends on the make/model of the bike - and in this case the 2007 TE450 DOES have an "accelerator pump" (google it if you don't know what that is). Every time I twist the throttle (even if it is not on) the pump squirts a bit of fluid into cylinder.

i love the design of your bike
That bike is so beautiful . That ice made me nervous , if that were me I would have been on my ass with a bike on top of me . Thanks for the vid !

6:49 next time just give it some throttle and it will keep running

Have you still got the husky
You bet! It's a lifer! ;)
Nice husky. The banshee as well. I have a RZ350 project. Almost the same engine as the Banshee.
is it carb or fuel injection?
last year they were carb... 2008 onwards efi
How did you do the electricals for your lights? Thinking of doing the same. Thx
Mine was pre-wired for lights... all I had to do was plug in the connectors!
My Ninja was pretty hard to start his spring too. Even with stabilizer and the battery on the tender. Took about as long as yours.

Is this the same engine as on the TE 450cc ATV they make?

My 2007 is very reliable - starts much easier than in the vid usually, still going strong!
@@xhumeka cool.. thanks for answer man.. Greetings from Poland

Does anyone in your club have LED blinkers on the 2008 te 450? I am trying to source a flasher unit. Thanks.
I switched to LED blinkers a few years back; I don't think I needed a special flasher, I can look up which one I'm using if you'd like...
xhumeka that's interesting. If you could look that up that would be helpful.
Correct. The led blinkers work fine on the standard electrics.
why do you give it gas before starting it? it doesnt do anything

xhumeka hmm i never knew that existed :/ sry for the comment.
