When I was hospitalized for 3 days the hospital assumed responsibility over distributing my oxycodone medication for my time there (I guess they don’t want patients bringing in their meds from home so they controlled all my meds, not just the pain meds). Over the 3 days idk if it was the same nurse or a couple different ones (I think it was the same nurse) who kept making up excuses not to give me my oxycodone. I was in bad shape (hence the reason I was in the hospital) and I remember her saying once that I was “nodding out” and was “going to overdose” and I was just sleeping and I’m like, overdose? This is my regular dose I’ve been on for years. I know that nurse was reporting that she gave me my meds and kept them because I needed my paperwork from the hospital visit for an unrelated reason and there was nothing in the paperwork about not giving me my scheduled medication. So I was in bad shape, in a ton of pain and my nurse was taking my meds to get high. I think they should have 2 medical professionals oversee the distribution of narcotics because it’s too easy to say, oh yeah the dr wants me to skip your pain pill, or, your pain pill was in that cup with the rest of your meds that you just swallowed-any number of bs lies then pocket your meds.
