    So I bought a used one for $100 and light turns red and doesn’t charge . Anyway to troubleshoot this ?

    I found one for just over 200 dollars. Why don't they have the other settings ? It is advertised for Level 1 setting with 5-15 adapter cord.

    At 8:34, the device said "error" for the current kilowatts because it was above 9.99 kW and I guess it wasn't coded to reduce the decimal point to display 10.0 kW and above.
    Like you said in the video, it's too bad they didn't include 12 A and 16 A charging setting options. This would allow people to use 120 V outlets as well as (240 V) NEMA 6-20 outlets common on hotel AC units.

    Thanks for doing the leg work on the UL certification! Was this product actually manufactured in Canada? It’s hard to tell from the packaging.

      AFAIK, it is manufactured in China.

      Is it possible to get those UL reports in a PDF form posted in the description?

    Good review
    They are now selling as a L1/2 in Canadian Amazon

      That's interesting. Did they add support for 12A output?

      @@MissingRemote they say it does 12 and 16 now, you do need an adapter of course

      @@voidlogic That welcome news. Thanks. It's always unfortunate when vendors build a product that could be firmware updatable, but don't expose the feature to end users.

    Thank you.. I’ve ordered this unit from Amazon. Plan to replace my 32amp charger that came with my Mach-e. Has this been reliable so far.?

      Very reliable aside from the occasional issue with the display.

    At lower amperage settings does it still use L1 and L2 as a balanced load?

    • @MissingRemote
      @MissingRemote  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I understand the question, but it's worth pointing out that this device doesn't support L1 amperages. It would be up to the car to determine what current was pulled, and would blow the circuit (or start a fire) if it wasn't programed to know that 120v = 12a only.

    • @3oldman
      @3oldman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MissingRemote L1 and L2, otherwise known as X and Y, means each leg of 120v. I'd query the mfr, but that doesn't appear too easy.

    • @3oldman
      @3oldman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In thinking about this, I guess it's obvious that yes, it uses both l1 and l2, because if it didn't, that would 120v only , and that's a Level 1 charger.
