I went to that concert in Atlanta at the Lakewood Amphitheater. That prayer from DMX and Meth and Red getting glowsticks thrown at them while they were flying through the air was a movie. Great memories.

I was a 16 year old kid working as an usher at San Jose Arena when the HardKnock Life Tour came through. I have ZERO memory of working that night. All I remember is the actual show. Red and Meth came out first and got it lit. 🤣

DMX dominated hardcore gangster street rap in the late 90s and early 2000s. At that time, you barely heard a peep out of west coast gangster rap on a mainstream level. Because when it came to that street gutter thugged out rap, DMX was the RAWEST RAPPER EVER, a different kind of ANIMAL back when he was in his PRIME.
West coast rap was blackballed by New York radio after Biggie died

But still at that time, that ferocious snarling Yonkers New York emcee named DMX dominated hardcore street thug rap in the late 90s and early 2000s. He dominated the entire country, not just New York Street Rap, but ALL GANGSTER RAP, because at that time, DMX was in his prime, and he was the RAWEST AND MOST GUTTER STREET RAPPER EVER..
RIP but DMX was nothing but barking and growling. His actual lyrics were overrated. And his delivery was the exact same on every song and even when he talked.
@@sith06 When DMX was in his prime in the late 90s and early 2000s, no other so-called hardcore gangster rapper could touch him when it came to spitting that thugged out rap. Because unlike DMX, most of the other gangster rappers did not live what they rapped about. DMX was not the most lyrical rapper with fancy wordplay, but he rapped from the heart and he spit lyrics that REAL NI&&AS feel. Plus he was able to express a wide range of emotions similar to TUPAC and SCARFACE. Yes DMX growled and barked in many of his raps, because he identified with pitbulls from his life as an abandoned child in the streets of Yonkers NY when stray dogs had his back in the streets for protection as a foster child. People also say TUPAC was not that lyrical, but he still had powerful heartfelt lyrics that people could relate to. You can say DMX barked a lot. But he was way better than today's trap and drill rappers who MUMBLE a lot in there raps. I would take DMX over today's Mumble Rappers ANY DAY. Unfortunately most of the REAL RAPPERS are either dying off or pushed to the underground by this ILLUMINATI CONTROLLED Entertainment Industry.

I been to many shows where the opening act blows away the closer. In 2000 Slayer opened before Pantera and blew them away too. I've see Cypress Hill open and blow away their main headliner. I've seen Guns N Roses smoke Aerosmith. Jay knew. DMX was the high energy at the time. DMX was the show. If the NFL wasn't a bunch of pussies DMX would of been the best halftime show for real energy ever.

I went to the concert in El Paso, Texas, my hometown. Meth and Redman were dope. They got into the crowd and got pulled by some harnesses to fly in the air when they sang How High. X was dope as well. I wasn't impressed by Jay Z in the concert and lost me as a fan. I like a few songs if his but not many.
