This tutorial helped me make my first flower. I’ve been crocheting for 2 days now so for the fact I could make a flower already is amazing. However, I followed everything as you instructed but I came up to having 4 petals as supposed to 5. This looks really nice with a 2.0 mm afghan crochet hook paired with embroidery thread. I normally crochet small appliques/patches, bookmarks and the like with an ordinary 1.90 mm hook. The advantage of embroidery thread is the vast array of colors available. You just have to be a bit careful not to let it fray. If you buy it in bulk it's also cheaper that way 😊. The only thing I'd mention to be careful of (if you use pure cotton embroidery thread) is that it's easier to make a magic circle loop at the start with only one loop. Using a double loop will probably end up with accidentally creating a knot inside. 😢
