I'm glad to see that Poirier and Oliveira are healthy and look to be in good spirits. Those two are both so deserving of this moment and I have no doubt they are going to get out there and give it absolutely everything they've got. hope she has long life by any means I know how it is to lose a somewhat close girl.
In my case she was one of my best friends she passed due tumor in stomach.
Couple things: Watching Porier getting his meal during weight cut reminds me of watching him on Fightville, which is where I started rooting for him. Dom has the craziest footwork, hope he’s able to put it all together for a vintage performance. And last, I like Pena and she is damn good, but no way that fight makes it outside of round 1, unless Núñes wants it to.

Actually, you do climb halfway up Everest to then go back to basecamp and finally, after a few acclimatization rotations, you go for the summit push. Love ya Dom ❤️

Mike Brown is such a nice guy. But after watching Dustin's fights with Mike Brown, I don't think Mike Brown has been a factor in helping Poirier with his career. I am not saying this to insult Mike Brown. But I watched him almost ruin the Poirier vs. Holloway fight with really poor coaching. In that fight Poirier was the better striker, easily going to a one sided decision in a fight where he was dominating. Then Mike Brown told Poirier to suddenly "go for a takedown." Max Holloway has cast iron wrestling defense, and nobody can take him down. And when you try to take down a guy who doesn't go down, it zaps your cardio completely. Attemping a takedown is how people gas out. And of course Poirier gassed out and almost lost the fight after his failed takedown attempts. I am not a coach, but even I knew not to tell Poirier to "go for a takedown."

@@gunnerstar99 tell me you know nothing about the division without saying it. Had Eddie not fought Conor at 205, he would've fought Khabib. Then Conor went MIA for two years. Realistically, Conor hurt Khabib's legacy more by sitting out than he helped it by getting his ass stomped by him. Khabib was the consensus best in the division when he tossed RDA around. The first time he was turned down for a title fight was Pettis. That's how long he could have and should have been champ.
Dominic should review his everest metaphore. That's exactly what you do when climbing, you go up up up and then down a little, then a little higher up and down until the top :-)

The funny thing about Dom Cruz's Everst analogy: is that it was completley wrong. You do actually climb up half way, get acclimated, then climb back down. Then you keep doing that until you can push for the summit.
