I grew up in the 70’s seeing Dracula vs Frankenstein on late Friday tv horror host Indiana’s famous Sammy Terry. Figures are awesome. It’s the only film ever made where you see Dracula ripping Frankenstein arms and head off during a fight.
Daniel Roebuck, was also in Phantasm V Ravager! I am huge "Phantasm" fan! I hope Daniel talks with Don Coscarelli maybe some "Beastmaster" "Bubba Ho-Tep" and other Coscarelli films figures? I know there are licensed "Phantasm" figures and a very cool DVD set inside one of the Sentinel Spheres. Great stuff as always buddy! I love it❤...
I have one of those wonderful d v f mexican lobby cards, and I never knew why I was so drawn to the artwork. It’s great to learn the artist did the mego monster boxes
My parents wouldn’t let me watch it as I was in early grade school. But I remember the commercials for this on WPIX’s Chiller Theater back in the early 1970s. 🧛🏼♂️
Still remember my brother and I being really upset that the Drac and Frank looked nothing like the Bella and Boris. It looks like Drac's head might be slightly too large but I applaud the effort. Thx for the Toy-Ventures reminder. I need to pick up the latest issue.
They did not get the Frankenstein right ...something is off with the HAIR and in the movie- the face looked more like a baked casserole. LOL. I had an art teacher once- he used to say "Don't draw what you THINK you see- Draw what you SEE". Sometimes the guys that do these "limited edition" thingies need to know that . Dracula Vs. Frankenstein is a MASTERPIECE and is almost "Ed Wood" worthy ! It first showed up on TV in 1977.
Not sure how it happened, but I had never heard of this movie before you started talking about it. I'll have to track it down. That is a quality Frankenstein. Really great head sculpting. Love them image of them ganging up on Kolchak! Hard to tell if they are attacking him, or bugging him for spare change.
Just a suggestion. The Toy venture magazine is incredible. You might consider consolidating the mego museum, brick mantooth, etc under one branding (toy venture)
Brian, I remember you mentioning the NY area and Heroes World. Did you grow up around there? Do remember any toy stores in Bronxville, NY in the 70s-80s?
Funky-looking figures! It would have been great if they went a step further and designed the Frankenstein Monster to have break-away arms and head. Dracula (sounding as if he's in an echo chamber): "Stop! Stop or I'll destroy you piece by piece as Dr. Frankenstein created you!"
I absolutely love the movie, but $90 each? Ouch. Like you, I might just make my own customs. Great review though! I know that you grew up on this movie just like I did. Great late-night horror fare!
I love the montage music also my fondest memory of movie monsters was a sci-fi invasion movie...wish I could remember the title but the alien "monsters" I remember were red and for some reason I equated them to beats so for a long long time I would not eat them due to watching that movie.
Figures are great, but HOLY CRAP that price tag. I mean, i get it, especially if they're doing everything themselves, by hand. But it definitely makes me appreciate what you & Jason do, that keeps the $$ so low. Also, great video as usual. But... have people really complained about the music?!? Holy Jeez, people. Just let folks have their fun, for crying out loud!
These are always great fun. Keep up the great work, Brian. BTW - How did you get your figures? I just tried to order and it looks like they only ship within the US.
American International Count Yorga films were made by them. So good Robert Quarry was excellent Vampire. Maybe a dumb question but did Andy Warhol have something to do with this Dracula vs Frankenstein? I'm probably mixing something up. Great video
TRIVIA : I was always obsessed with the "Dracula Ring by RUZI" in the opening credits. I longed for a good quality repro of it . About 15 years ago , I did an eBay search of "Ruzi". I actually found a small metal sculpture of a dentist pulling a tooth out of the open mouth of a man - sitting in a dental office chair (?!) signed on the bottom "RUZI" (!!) . Now, the "sculpture" was very abstract , kinda poorly done, -- just the SUBJECT matter turned me off (I get the feeling it was a GIFT to a dentist from Ruzi ?). I'm telling ya' - THIS thing was UGLY. LOL. BUT it had the "style" of the Dracula ring and I did NOT question THIS FACT : the guy that made the RING - made the hideous dental sculpture. The seller wanted like $150.00 for it. I emailed him and said "would you take LESS ?" . I think I offered him like $90.00 . Again - the SUBJECT matter made me not really want to own the damn thing !! The seller flatly said "NO". So I let it go. My loss. Kinda. ?? I have an art background and a good eye- it was the same "Ruzi". Oh well.

Awesome figures! Dracula vs. Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies. I love Al Adamson’s b-movies.
Me too, I devoured the box set recently.
These are incredible, I never thought I would see these being released, I'm a big Al Adamson fan
Oh me too!

Yeah, he did a lot of prolific things, like draw the funky skies in the 67 Spider-Man cartoon.
Oh, wow, somebody really did it!
Does anyone sell a Ro-Man figure from _Robot Monster?!_ Hope it has bubble blowing action!
I would very much love a Ro-Man!
I watched this for the first time yesterday. Actually finishing the movie today, perfect timing.
I knew that, of course.
My parents wouldn’t let me watch it as I was in early grade school. But I remember the commercials for this on WPIX’s Chiller Theater back in the early 1970s. 🧛🏼♂️
I hope you forgive them.
It was not on Chiller till around 1976-1977. That's when I first saw it. But I was a Chiller fan since 1969.
Still remember my brother and I being really upset that the Drac and Frank looked nothing like the Bella and Boris. It looks like Drac's head might be slightly too large but I applaud the effort. Thx for the Toy-Ventures reminder. I need to pick up the latest issue.
Love It, Very Cool!👍
Just in time for my fave time of year!💀
Johnny T./Bionic Vampire Ninja sent me.
And I am glad he did! Excellent stuff, man.
Really great action figures and review, Brian!!
Thank you!
Hooray for mint off card.
So tacky, so wonderful.
I LOVE the silly music! It always brightens my mood.
Thanks, I got a complaint about it last week and honestly, it was surprising, most people love it.

Great montage, and love the music!
Appreciate it!

Probably a little bit of both.

Appreciated I do agree on that brand confusion.
Brain (sic) posts. I watch. Easiest equation all week 😀
good reviews, my friend.
Thank you kindly
The lighting of this review is far too good. Haha.
Brian, I remember you mentioning the NY area and Heroes World. Did you grow up around there? Do remember any toy stores in Bronxville, NY in the 70s-80s?
I grew up on NY tv but I was firmly in Toronto.
I like my monsters low rent. These are cool.
Yeah I'm of the same mind.

Dracula (sounding as if he's in an echo chamber): "Stop! Stop or I'll destroy you piece by piece as Dr. Frankenstein created you!"
In the movie , Dracula did NOT have a scalloped / bat wing shaped cape. Also a BIG deal was the Dracula ring in the movie.
These look great!

Ain't nothing wrong with making your own.
@@BrickMantooth if MEGO had a Seinfeld head, that’d be a great start for Zandor Vorkov. 😄🦇

Now I gotta know what film that was. Killer Beets sounds amazing.

Monsters in October? I always thought October was about Octopi
It is at the fish market.
These are always great fun. Keep up the great work, Brian.

I use a proxy shipper to get stuff over the border. The office is near my house.
@@BrickMantooth Ah ! I live on Vancouver Island. No border near my house... They're still cool!

Wharhol put his name on both a Dracula and Frankenstein film around this time but they're not connected.
@BrickMantooth thanks for the info Brickmantooth you are an amazing person
That music annoys people? That music is how I get my wife to watch these things without rolling her eyes.
Well that's an endorsement!

A shame this was the first time these two fought...
