@@THQAutomotive I feel the same. I've had a few wobbles as to whether or not I made a mistake getting a startline, but now I'm doing bits to it I defo made the right choice! If I'd gone Highline I wouldn't have been able to get Ascot as I don't think it looks right in highline spec!
I've just ordered a T6.1 LWB Startline from a Campervan conversion company that will convert it for me. My question is, can I remove all the front number and grill etc and fit the VW T6.1 Front Chin + Splitter LV to it like the grey van in your video (10:46). If I need anything else please advise. Also, I have gone for the Highline pack for this van as well. Don't know if that will make a difference?
Hi There, on the California T6.1 Edition version ( commercialized in Europe ), the upper front grille has some chrome trims. Do you know is these trims are removable from the front ( ie without removing the complete bumper ) ? Thanks !

Got t6.1 coming dec'21 thank you was worried the T7 was going to be released and my T6.1 was bad timing purchase. Good to know the T7 is a sharon replacement. I heard the T7 commercial is also going to be made in partnership with ford (doh!)
Yes I believe the T6.1 will be a Ford collaboration around 2025. That might not be a bad thing combining 2 big brands. I don’t think it will be a VW badged Ford. I assume it will be the T8 too 🤷🏻♂️
While I'm not a big Ford fan, I also try hard not to become a blinkered VW fanboy, and I agree that this might not be a bad move. Some parts of the Ford R&D are advancing faster than many of its rivals, and yes, that does seem to include VW in certain areas. If VW can steer the collaboration in the right direction, I think it will make for some great vans. While my Transporter was in for a wheel bearing, I had a Transit Custom as the loan vehicle, and there were definitely a few things about the Custom that I liked more than my van. Not enough to sway me into buying one though.
@@dazzer_ I hope more people will become open minded like yourself. Some people can be very anti none VW brands. The collaboration could be a great thing for the VW commercial market. Time will tell.
I agree with some of this the Ford design team are great they look fantastic it’s quality they are let down on; experienced new Ford vans rattling 6months the same VW vans not an issues; but they cost the same! Flip it the Peugeot vans we own rattle but you accept it as they were considerably cheaper; then the main bug is cost vs resale; it’s seems to be acceptable in general terms for Ford to depreciate massively and we the customer accept losing huge amounts of money (70%); again Peugeot cheap to buy resale strong due to didn’t pay a lot for them; I’m becoming and sounding like a fanboy lol. So have to say like the Peugeot/Citroen’s. Merc’s look good and hear good things but wanted to write about experienced I haven’t owned them in numbers. I’m game for new things it’s how we progress..time will tell and the choice is yours or mine to like or not
@@SimonPilling I’m clearly a VW fan boy but I won’t be writing off the T6.1 replacement yet. I’m sure the VW design engineers and VW tooling will be heavily involved in the process. I can’t see it just being a re-badged transit custom. From my understanding it has a lot to do with Fords engineer development to meeting the stricter emission standards. As we’ve said, time will tell 🤞
Thanks for another awesome video. I'm super looking forward to August and getting some headlights for my T5 -6.1 conversion. I'm looking at wheel and coilover options at the moment, what are the wheel sizes and drops on the end two grey transporters in the video? Cheers.
@@THQAutomotive Awesome, thank you. Looks like I'll be shopping for 80mm coilover options this summer! Any suggestions for the best kit you sell for 80-90mm drop but as comfortable as possible? I'd love to go with the solows but as I remember you saying they are super comfortable at the highest setting but I think 100mm may just be that little too much for what I use the van for (Builder's van)
I’ve ordered a highline, but dam the commercial look pops! Have you got any photos of the splitter that you have on the commercial on a highline?
Yes they are in the video. The grey van we show photos of when I’m talking about it. It works really well.
@@THQAutomotive thanks I’ll watch it again haha

Great video. 😁👍🏻 What are the rims called on the first transporter start line?
They are Navis Twin-5 wheels in anthracite
@@THQAutomotive when those coming in black ?
Great detail as always can’t wait for the caddy that is a very good van small but good👍👍👍👌👌👌
Yeah I’m excited by it. It should arrive July 1st. We already have Solow Suspension being designed, headlights, new grilles, lip spoiler etc
About time you did a Caddy 👍🏻 (I'm a Mk4 Caddy owner) 🙂
Love the mk4 caddy. We were too late to the party to develop anything new though really. The mk5 has potential and let’s face it, it needs some love 😂

Any news on when the smooth steel wheels will be available
Factory and shipping issues that have stressed me out big time. We’re now told August. They’ll be worth the wait 🙏
When will the T6.1 headlights be available?
Samples arrive next month. We should have product stock by the end of summer 🤞
Hey just wondering what you guys thing to the new transporter / multivan design
I think it’s a grower. Not a fan right now but with some styling, I’m sure it could look good. We’ll get one as soon as we can to work on for sure.

Hi - helpful thanks. Was the 6.1 start line spec Van with the Bilsteins and new wheels a ‘Transporter’ or a ‘kombi’ when you ordered it?
Both are kombi’s. You can order the same spec as a panel van though.
Great video..again! Keep them coning…
Thank you 😊

Thank you, glad it was useful. 😊
So, why is every van without led headlights?
Why do we order all our vans without LED lights? Because we are developing our own LED headlight. They all become development vehicles
@@THQAutomotive Do you specifically have to order them without? Are they not standard on these in RHD models?
