🇹🇼 Hey! Our Taipei guidebook just dropped on Amazon - every spot we hit, what we spent, and how we did it with 3 kids. Grab it here: mybook.to/adamandlinds-Taipei
It’s really rare to see a traveler coming to Taiwan and introduce the history of 228 in such a respectful and sincere way, most travelers only go to the Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall and appreciate it, that always make me kind of cringe as a Taiwanese because Chiang is the one who started all this human rights violations.😢 thank you for incorporating the historical aspect in your vlog!! I’m happy that you and your family enjoyed the museums❤
My husband and I just found your channel and love the Taiwan series! Next time I recommend going to Sun Moon Lake, go to Alishan (beautiful mountain tourist spot) and bike riding through stunning rice fields in a family bike cart in Chishang and Guangshan! There is just so much to do!
Thank you for taking your time to visit the 228 memorial. On a lighter note, the memorial was built on the site of the first ever baseball game played in Taiwan. Though the players were all japanese. The bronze horse used to stand in front of the Taihoku Shinto shrine.
There are different things to enjoy in Taiwan in each season. Summer in Taiwan is hot and humid but it is also the season where most of the fruits are in season. Taiwan is a paradise for fruit lovers. If you like fruits then you definitely want to visit Taiwan during the summer. The temperatures are much nicer in spring and autumn. There are more celebrations and festivities during these seasons. Winter can be cold especially most residences aren’t equipped with heaters.
It is recommended that you go around the island to experience the local customs next time you take a movie, because the eastern and southern parts of Taiwan and some outlying islands are very interesting to see.
I enjoy your whole series about Taipei. Good job. Taipei is my home town, and I'm settling down in Tainan now. If you really decide to come back to Taiwan again, please make a plan to visit southern Taiwan such as Tainan and Kaohsiung. Winter is the best time for tropical Tainan and Kaohsiung. And more important, you'll experience a different aspect of Taiwan.
Thanks for showing so much good spot in Taiwan!! Very different than regular tourists video, it's a very deep, cultural, educational and impressive journey, our people welcome you and your family come back anytime!!
I would recommend checking out other cities like Taichung and Kaohsiung. The East Coast of Taiwan is definitely worth as visit but Torako is closed. River tracing on the east coast is worth checking out with an experienced guide.
Hope you already have a return trip in mind, and if you do visit again during a cooler/colder season, do consider including hot springs in your itinerary.
Thank you for choosing Taiwan for travel around. The videos are awesome and kids are so cute. Summer in Taiwan is soooo HOT🥵 Maybe December, January and February would be nice. Can’t wait to watch more videos about travel Taiwan❤❤❤
Definitely go south and east! Tainan is so rich in culture including Netherland castles and stuff dating back to 1700s, not to mention amazing foods! Eastern Taiwan is truly beautiful in both mountain and sea. Tarako gorge, Green island are some of my favorites. Also with a splash of aboriginal food and culture I’m sure you guys will love it.
Definitely go back in the cooler months. There’s so much yummy hot foods to eat but are uneatable in the summer heat. Taipei will be cold and wet in the winter month, so avoid. Most places also don’t have heating still, another reason to avoid winter unless you like showering in the freezing cold.
Love your video! Personally I’ll recommend Oct- Feb. best time for travelling in Taiwan! Btw, watching the 228 memorial park part gives me goosebumps. Much appreciated that you spent the time knowing the dark painful history of this beautiful democratic country. Unfortunately many of Taiwanese takes it for granted nowadays😮💨
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're really glad the 228 Memorial Park segment touched you - it was important for us to share that part of Taiwan's history respectfully. 🇹🇼
If you’re interested in the White Terror period and related history of Taiwan, check out National 228 Memorial Museum and National Human Rights Museum next time! On top of that, Taipei Fine Arts Museum often has really nice exhibitions and they’ve got a Children’s Art Education Centre featuring exhibits designed for children. Treasure Hill Artist Village is also a cool place to explore. All of them are easily accessible through public transport in Taipei. (Sending you love and light from Taipei by a working artist✨)
Lunar new year is different every year but usually in February. That's when most places are closed. Wouldnt recommend going to Taiwan as a tourist during lunar new year. Of course, unless you have friends in Tawian and want to experience the lunar new year with them.
Eastern and southern parts of Taiwan are totally different from metropolitan Taipei. If you have time, make sure to save some time for them? Even the mountains will give you a lot of unique experiences. There are many mountains that are over 3000 meters and you could experience aboriginals' cultures (there are 16 tribes of aboriginals in Taiwan. As for the weather, although winter is cooler, northern Taiwan usually rains a lot. If you come to Taiwan during winter, don't forget to head to the south and the east.
I am so surprised that you go to discovery center of Taipei. Only few overseas visitors know it. I recommand you go to Alisan to enjoy the sight of sunrise. In addtition I strongly recommand Taroko National Park-- the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan included in your Taiwan trip checklist someday in the future. It's a pity that it was closed because of a violent earthquake attack several month ago and may be opened up in several years. There are lots of amazing attractions in Hualien and Taitung as well. We are looking forward to your visit to Taiwan next time!
Summer though hot it's when air pollution is the least. So colors are more vivid. Starting in fall, especially the Southern part of the island, it's all haze and smog, not pretty pictures. It really depend on wind. If it's coming from North East pollution starts to get bad if it's coming from South West it's good.
I like your video very much, hope you can visit south taiwan and east taiwan next time , east taiwan is very beautiful, the beautiful mountains and sea
What you see on those panels is just one angle of the history. If you dig deeper into other sources, you may hear different voices regarding that incident. Anyway, you did an excellent job bro.
There’s one thing could compensate the suffering o heat in summer: the summer fruits of Taiwan! They are the best fruits of the world, even China has stolen the secret of planting them, but these of Taiwan are still unbeatable
228 park used to be the most important meeting point for gay in decades ago. Even had a famous novel base on it. I always admire ppl who takes kids travel around world. Thank you to put Taiwan into ur list. I hope one day ur sweet girls will miss Taiwan n say let's visit again
You missed the chance to experience Taipei city hall restaurant eating with personal and visitors.. E erybody are welcome for sharing crews restaurant.. this is very special experience about what is real democratic country
Most Taiwanese people have never entered the 228 Incident Memorial Hall, including me. After all, this is a gloomy past of our country. However, we can forgive history, but we cannot forget it, otherwise it will be like Hegel said: "The only lesson humans learn from history is that Humanity never learns any lessons." I really admire your effort in traveling with three kids!
Thank you! It's not always easy, but we have a blast!
很少外國人還會願意花時間來了解 228 的歷史,還有自己的心得,蠻感動的
My husband and I just found your channel and love the Taiwan series! Next time I recommend going to Sun Moon Lake, go to Alishan (beautiful mountain tourist spot) and bike riding through stunning rice fields in a family bike cart in Chishang and Guangshan! There is just so much to do!

I love your videos and the way you educate your lovely kids. It’s definitely a treasure for them. ❤
Thank you so much!

That's really good to know, thanks for the tip!
Glad you had a great time in Taipei.
Thanks so much! We loved it!
