    I’m currently on my 3rd set of dreadlocks. I’ve had this set for 5 months now & SECTIONING IS A HUGE PART of being happy with your dreads!!! 3rd time is the charm for me 😊 I love my sectioning this time and have no complaints at all! LOVE your videos ❤️

    The problem with doing a straight part down the middle is that as your dreads get heavier over time, a straight middle part will get wider looking and it might look like you're thinning down the middle.
    Regardless, I think your dreads look pretty fantastic as is 😊

      I think its important to fip your part every now and then and not do the same thing every day. Or maybe go out with it one way, then come home and let it fall down.

    I definitely agree with the think about your sectioning. I decided to do fan sectioning for more scalp coverage and it was such a bad decision. Trying to seperate my locs is a pain.

      QUESTION ?
      AFTER 1 MONTH OF GROWTH FROM THE ROOTS AND ITS JUST HAIR THEN YOU DO YOUR MAINTENANCE, EVERY TIME I DO A MAINTENANCE IT GETS THINNER AND THINNER TILL IT SNAPS OFF.
      HOW DO YOU KEEP THAT SAME THICKNESS. THERE'S NOT ENOUGH OVER GROWTH TO KEEP THE THICKNESS.
      I'VE JOINED A FEW TOGETHER CAUSE THEY WERE GOING TO SNAP OFF

I know if I go to have them professionally done I'm going to be paying afew 100 dollars. I really wish I could just do them myself or knew someone who could start partial dreads. I just have so many questions, concerns but ugh I so want them now I'm not getting any younger .

    i got dreadlocks for the first time about 3months ago and i love them. only regret is that i didnt went for the 16inch extensions instead of the 12inch. but i fixed it by adding length with loose hair so its fine :)
    for your middle dread-is it an option to split it into 2 thinner one dreading one down to each side? that way you dont have to brush all of them out :)

  • @abbicharlotte
    @abbicharlotte 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Haha no way I've got that same middle dread that doesn't seem to have a place!! My boyfriend calls it my unicorn dread because of how it flops to the front 🤣 mine has begun to widen at the root and pull on my scalp which can be painful, have you had that issue???

    • @dreadalinaa
      @dreadalinaa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OMG I knew someone would resonate! Unicorn dread hahaha thats funny as. Mine hasnt 'widened'? (I Cant spell XD) at the root but sometimes it hurts so not sure why. I dont notice it much though....

    Does your head itch ? I’ve had my dreads for almost 6 months now and my head itches all the time and I have dandruff. I use dollylocks shampoo so I don’t think that my shampoo is the problem. Any suggestions?

    • @aliceschramm7923
      @aliceschramm7923 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Use baking soda and Apple cider vinegar with shampoo

    • @dreadalinaa
      @dreadalinaa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mine were very itchy at the start but not for that long, I did also get dandruff for the first 6 months aswell. Sometimes mine are itchy when they need maintenance, like the roots get all messy and yea there itchy. I would probably try a different shampoo to see if thats the issue, you scalp might be sensitive to dollylocks ingredients. I would recommend Raw roots, I love there shampoo and maybe the hydrating oil for your scalp. If you purchase from dreadshop.com you can also use code dreadalinaa at checkout for 10% off hehe ;)

      I don't use anything but salt, and essential oils. I do to gym every day, sweat heaps and have dreads down to butt.
      I used to use dream lock approved shampoo and bars then my new dready lady told me to stop and I love hers, so I did. No more itch or build up or stink

    Im laughing because I've had my dreads 1 month and I also have a middle one which at the moment I love. I'm looking forward to not liking it anymore 😂 my biggest regret so far is getting my extensions with synthetic hair 🥺 I really can't wait for my natural hair to grow out. How is it touching up your roots with dreads??
    I’m already bleach blonde but I’m concerned with touching up my roots 😬

    • @dreadalinaa
      @dreadalinaa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey :) Na touching up the roots is fine just try to do it before the regrowth gets really close to actually dreading up because I notice the closest regrowth to the dreaded part always seems to go a bit yellow, so the last time I did it, I left the bleach on longer and I also did it with less time in between bleaches so like I said it doesnt hit the dread and then it came out white that time so yea, don't stress, its easier to dye roots cause there still 'loose' hair :) Hope that all made sense hahah
