  • Ashford Model Railway Club hosted the Tenterden Model Railway Exhibition 2024 Held at The Homewood School.
A great venue with a relaxed atmosphere but a little quiet on the Saturday afternoon, great for viewing but not so good for the exhibitors.
The Layouts were to a very high standard, with a couple of larger scale Tracks.
The exhibition, was held the 10/11th of February so join me as I take a stroll around the exhibition on the opening day......
I have done my best to avoid filming people and conversations but inevitably at an event like this it is so difficult to avoid, so if there are any objections please get in touch with the time in the video and I will do my best to edit.
If you enjoy the video, please give it a thumbs up and please check out the channel and if you like what you see please consider subscribing.

Amazing layouts, especially liked the n-layouts, the winter thing was special. The person who made the winter landscape has been given a representation of what it is like in arctic regions, the blue light. I was born and raised in Lofoten Norway in the arctic area, where the sun is gone for several months in the winter, the only thing we have is the blue light together with the aurora polaris. Very good video, seen from Brazil.

Quevy is a great layout and you are right to point out the lighting. Really nice chap that owns it as well. All the best and thanks again for watching.

Thank you for the video. It was a great show, and all the layouts were fabulous 🚂🚃🚃 However, as you say, the detail in the Holmeshurst layout (35:32) is just incredible! It was my favourite as there was so much recognizable local history involved too - very well done indeed.

I will have this show on my calendar next year, very high standard of layouts, and yes loved Holmeshurst, Anyway thanks you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

great video, we were there and it was a great show this year, sadly some layouts had let the organisers down at the last min but well done to those who stepped in at the last to help out and fill spaces.

Hi Matt - I loved the Lionel layout, we don't see much of that sort. I remember my father taking me to an Industries Fair in Brisbane in 1952 at age 7. The models were the only thing I remember. Model boats in a big pond, and they must have been Lionel and other American O gauge on a huge layout. I think I was quite frustrated when we had to move along. I also liked the little Holmhurst layout at 35:35. It reminds me of a very atmospheric French O gauge layout at Rambouillet in France which is on public display near the church, and with a fascinating glass cases historical model train collection from around the world.

I have a similar memory form the model engineering exhibition in the Wembley conference centre that my father took my brother and I too, however my memory is of the McGregor display team and their radio controlled vehicles I would have been a similar age. Holmehust was very well done and such nice chap who owned it!

Well said about imagination. I have a lot of old Hornby and Triang stuff. Nowhere near as detailed as the current items. But my imagination does not notice. They really are 57xx and class47 locomotives running through a real place. Then the phone rings and I snap out of it! Must remember to switch on that silent button

I don't know what you put in your videos. Every time I watch one it switches my laptop off before I have seen the end. This is the third video it has happened to.

Maybe I'm to dull for you laptop and it gives up on me? Seriously the only thing I do is film in 4k so it may be the graphics card in you laptop getting hot, otherwise not much I can do, but thanks for trying to watch.
