Mai is a beast. I also really like how she looks when she bows after having won. THAT is a very nice animation.

Well, to be fair, for some of us (not all but some) it's not so much him being a furry but more because he's an important character to the story. Mainly Ragna's.
Jubei's kind of been an unsung hero of sorts and they gave him a lot of background and character development that feeds directly into the driving points of the main plot. He's helped Ragna, Jin, Noel, Rachel plenty of the main cast are where they are because he helped in some way. He's an important character even if not to the point of being on the level of Rachel, Noel, Hazama etc. But for the story, especially since this is the end of Ragna's arc, I think that Jubei being playable isn't requesting all that much. Jubei taught him how to fight, cook, and survive. The guy was pretty much a father to him. That's my reason anyway.
He's like the Kliff Underson of Blazblue.
Also, it's not just Jubei for me, I want to see Trinity too (whom also has ties with the main plot, especially Terumi and Nine), and with Plat's Act 3 ending, I'm *really* hoping that she'll make it. I think that ASW is just saving them for the very last, like the new characters in Central Fiction Extend. But that's just me hoping.
+MrRodRen I understand jubei fans, but what he means is more likely that the jubei fans call the new characters bad for being anime girls and yet they want a literal furry. There are good points to add jubei instead of these, but calling them bad just for being generic anime girls is pretty hypocrite.

The whole redirectable projectile gimmick speaks to me on so many levels. And she looks to have range... Lambda might be in trouble.
SURE IS CU CHULAINN IN HERE. Except for the EA, that was pure Diarmuid. Looks like I have a new main. Mai has what I want in a spear fighter. Not that Ken stuff. She's got the rushdown, Gae Bolg tech, that spear toss, and I love the pole vault overhead kick. I can only hope her AH is the Lancer's nuke spear.

Kens rushdown is arguably the best in the game, he's just hard to master because of the puppet mechanic.

Mai definitely looks powerful since she has that range advantage and looks like she's easy to combo but I got the feeling that ES is going to be pretty crazy as well when someone master her.
It would make more sense to have Es unlockable if you beat the story mode while Mai is the DLC

There's currently a petition to include a dub for the game as DLC post-release on change dot org. If you search petition for Blazblue dub it'll be one of the top results. We've got a couple thousand people to sign, but more are always welcome.

Hey Jourdal, I have a question. Now, i want to know if it is possible to cancel a pre order once its been made on PSN, if you know how to? Reason is because i got the premium edition from JP, but i dont want to buy the game again (I will buy the english version too when it tho), but i also want to play the demo. Is there a way around this?

Izayoi...sorta wears armor, does that count? And Hakumen isn't so much wearing it as he is a spirit using the armor as a vessel. Like, he has zero flesh.

Mai's spear seems to home-in when it's thrown and it hits on the way back if you charge it up. I wouldn't be surprised if it was named Gungnir.
Yep, thanks to her Variable Arts ability, you can control the spear's movement with the analog stick in the event that you miss, which could make her a pretty strong zoner.

That's her Drive, and it's called Outseal.
Outseal is also the name of the spear. It's an imitation Legacy Weapon (Like Xblaze Es' Vow Crystal Seal: Murakumo Blade, not the one she currently uses in CF, and Sechs' Manifest Demolition Blade: Kusanagi).
It's a weapon that subconsciously teaches it's wielder how to use it and it's said to rival the real Legacy Weapons, which can rival a nox nyctores in power.
Thank you for the info, wasn't sure if Mai's spear throw was a special or her drive. Also were did you get that info from? dustloop? None of the game news sites I follow talked about her drive.

I most certainly won't fall for this cashgrab, but there are people who will. And to think they do make such a vanilla version to cash in with DLC AND making an extend version with content other games offer as free update or at least minor DLC, but charge full price for it and no chance for owners of the original game to upgrade is disgusting! As much as I love Blazblue, a part of me wishes tehy're going down with this!
Benedikt Benstein If they fall for it that's their fault. The internet exists all they have to do is search shit up. Wait for the 2nd version of the game to come out. Capcom has been getting away with this for years but nobody seems to call them out on it but Aksys does it and everyone freaks the fuck out. I happily payed for CP and CPExtend after buying Kokonoe for CP because I like this series. It's better than most fighting games to date without a shadow of a doubt. Don't blame Aksys for making smart decisions, blame yourself for not spending your money right.
For what I've seen, it's the other way around. Everybody shits on Capcom for SF5, but I've hardly seen anyone complaining about Blazblue. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 offered every new character for free. Most shooters nowadays give us free new maps and characters as free updates. And the Witcher 3 showed howe to make quality DLC content. Arcsys is just cashing in for content which should be included from the get-go. And in the end, less and less people buy their games, no new games are coming and people complain why no one supported them. Guess what, because of that. If anyone complains to me because I didn't buy this game, I'm telling them the same arguments. And if Arcsys is going down because of lacking sales, then yes. It IS their fault.

I used to not like the idea of Mai as a playable character. Then i heard she has a spear (i like big weapons buft for example Es looks so weightless and out of place when using her sword which i dont like, the spear is totally fitting for a female character though imo). Now i see this...

She appears to be centered a bit more around Zoning. With Mai, you can use her spear to attack targets, and with her Unique Ability: Variable Arts, you can use the stick to 'redirect' you attacks and hone in on the opponent.
Kagura is nowhere near a charge character. He's way too easy, and his moves have like .5 second charges, as opposed to actual charge moves that need to be charged for 2-3 seconds.
Hm, I don't really know if I'd call her a Charge Character, but if that's what you're looking for, maybe Naoto?
His charged blood attacks, while they do take a bit of time, have very prominent uses in his gameplay. For one, if you strike an enemy with a charged blood attack, it has increased range and damage. As another added boost, all of Naoto's charged blood attacks can normal guard crush enemies along with his natural crush trigger, so if they want to avoid a potential punish then they'll be forced to expend barrier to guard it.
Then, with his Overdrive, Blood Repulsor, it makes it to where you do his charged blood attacks pretty much naturally while it's active along with the usual affects of Overdrive (increased damage, some different animations etc...) so maybe Naoto could be a character you'd be interested in? I'd say he's a charge type essentially (by Blazblue's standards anyway).
Okay, I see what you're getting at now, and in that regard (like Guile) Kagura would probably be the closest to a 'Charge' type of character. At least from what we have on the roster so far.
I apologize for misleading you, I see what you mean now and from what I can tell she ins't really a charge type as she doesn't possess any real charge type move. Her attack style revolves around her specials having follow-up specials but they don't involve the directional 'charging' mechanic (holding a direction, then quickly putting in another, usually the opposite, direction along with a button for a move to come out). The closest you'd get to that is redirecting her spear with directional inputs but they are brief and her moves that look like they would be a charge type move are just regular imputs. It seems that, for now, Kagura and Azreal are the main throwbacks to the Street Fighter style.

I dont get this. Makoto is actually good in this game and people are complaining about her getting more nerfs? I mean, i understand because she went from super strong to "damn i forgot she was in this game" kinda...but Mai being in here doesnt affect Makoto at all.
sheraldford Oh, I see. Well, I'd say that Makoto is pretty strong in this game, but compared to others (Like the other playable members of Remix Heart etc) she may just come off as simply being too honest. She has good damage and the fact that her lvl2 drives are special cancellable give her great combo possibilities, but she still struggles more than a little in most matchups. Tsubaki got a few new tweaks that pulled her out of the lower areas and Noel has been a bit higher simply because of her Drive (which they've been trying to make her less reliant on) and Mai seems pretty strong with her tools as well. With her melee attacks she has great rushdown potential, and with her aimed range she can zone down enemies who try to keep their distance.
So maybe people just think that Makoto is too much of an honest character to really be able to hold up. Others can match or even surpass her damage with only a bit more (or less) effort than her, and sadly a lot of her gimmicks (Like her Asteroid Vision) are pretty unsafe to use outside of a combo. Her Eclipse Turn passes through the opponent, but it's so unsafe that you could end up being severely punished just for trying to cross up, so your best bet is probably just getting in their face. But most other characters have ways of dealing with straightforward aggression with relative ease.

MrRodRen Its all good. I personally feel that the reason why people are so down on Makoto or are afraid of her getting nerfed is just because she has been at the bottom for so long that they think its hopeless that she would get better. Sort of like how people who like seeing Terumi still think that if you win consistently with him instead of once in a blue moon, then you are godlike. Makoto has pretty good pressure and now that her counter acts more like a command grab, it only helps her mixups. Her damage is still pretty good, but its pretty average unless meter and resources.
As far as the rest goes, it gets pretty interesting. Tsubaki seems to have gotten all the good stuff with a nice overhead that seems to be safe, better damage, and the Overdrive buff and active flow combined with her already good mixup game actually puts her close to the top of the list. Noel actually took a damage nerf and got some drive moves changed so you take less punishment from random hits (her combos are still long tho lol). I have no idea where Mai will be until she is released, but either way, Makoto hangs around at least in the middle. That is pretty good since the tiers seem very condensed.
just put Jubei in the fucking game already.
I pretty much got turned off from the series after CS. The addition of more and more annoying/powerful chars and adding Mai isn't really giving me a reason to come back either.

Yeah, Blazblue is over with. Thank god they revived Guilty Gear already. I guess this was easy to see coming with Blazblue, but it's really unfortunate since it really felt like it used to take itself a bit more seriously.

Me personally I'm into TG, but for others... I think she reminds people of Dizzy from Guilty Gear, both in her appearance and personality. And Dizzy is quite popular. Even of she used to be a man, she now is a very feminine and kind hearted woman, thus easy to like for a lot of people.
Mai seems good even if she has a Sin-like gameplay... but Es...another lolly shit caracter with a realy basic and unoriginal gameplay... and no Jubei...

To be fair, I'd take her over Mai. She';s a typical anime transgender scenario. Guy who is originally nobody turns into a girl with big tits and somehow becomes magically more important. Then she goes through all this random shit that never would have happened and somehow at the end is like "You know what? I like who I am!" and does some stupid 'I like myself better this way crap' even though nothing really changed. And as an added bonus, if she becomes more 'accepting' of herself, her body will get more feminine and voluptuous.
Pretty much every girl in this game is stroking some form of fetish when it comes to this guy. But I'm a back off at this point, I'm just here for gameplay.
Jubei is what valkenhayn calls kokonoe in his bad ending of cs, he's the character that they don't put in the game till the last second in order to boost the series up
