As a woman that travelled Iraq already, headscarf is not mandatory unless you are visiting mosques and surrounding,holy cities or very rural places. There’s many woman walking around without it and wear normal clothes, they key is shoulder and knees covered and you will be okay! Every woman search about clothes prior going to these countries! ☺️ Just to answer some misconceptions on your comments sections!
Assuming the "woman" speaks only english and is a US citizen I would take LA, SF, NY. Try navigating law enforcement in a foreign country of which you do not speak it's language and have zero understanding of it's legal culture. Interestingly being Uzbek, I understood some words the taxi driver was saying Probably because Uzbekistan was part of a Silk Road and captured some Arabic words. For instance tarjimon means translation. Markaz means the centre in the meaning of a high street or downtown
the link is the "Ottoman" Empire and it's unique Language which was a mix of Persian and arabic words as a bridge between the Arabic and Persian world .
The rickshaw driver was asking you to use the phone and translate arabic to English. Atleast thats what i think it means. Because i heard a lot of common words with hindi in his talk, like angrezi=English, tharjima=translate.

I noticed on the streets and markets of Baghdad that men outnumbered the women shopping by around at least 20 to 1 and the women we did see were all older than Catarina. I can understand that women were more likely to stay at home when Baghdad was extremely dangerous but that doesn't seem to be the case now.
I am sitting in the middle of europe, watching an englishman traveling with his portugese girlfriend in the middle east and an iraqi rickshaw driver just talking in arabic is wearing a german t-shirt. What a time to be alive.
I was watching another video on TH-cam thru my tv with my PlayStation and I was complaining that Ben doesn’t have a video and I’m going to message him on his last video and I was leaving TH-cam slowly and I see 5 minutes ago Ben puts up a video. Iraq is this way because we’ve been out of there for 10 years now. I was there in 2011-2012 and we were escorting guys home from bases in Iraq during the drawdown. It was much different then.. it’s much better than when I was deployed there. You never would be doing what you’re doing if you tried to go in 2012 or earlier, unless you somehow were able to document a war zone. But you came when it’s had 10 years to recover.
I am so happy to see Baghdad streets, I was working in Baghdad Green Zone for almost 7 years, and never see the city, we stay only in the Green Zone from 2007 to 2013. In that time was almost 100% that you will get kidnaped or killed. I am happy for Iraqi ppl that they have peace now.

Btw: in march this year i went to Transnistria. To be honest, i did feel safe in the capital, but not in the rural parts (because of Russia/Ukraine-conflict). I am so happy to see Baghdad streets, I was working in Baghdad Green Zone for almost 7 years, and never see the city, we stay only in the Green Zone from 2007 to 2013. In that time was almost 100% that you will get kidnaped or killed.
I am happy for Iraqi ppl that they have peace now.

Btw: in march this year i went to Transnistria. To be honest, i did feel safe in the capital, but not in the rural parts (because of Russia/Ukraine-conflict). Might be a nice destination for you as well ;-)
