Takes me back to the mid 70s when I wrote gags for Jack when he had a show on Radio Clyde. I might even claim the Alasdair Gillies merry quip . In these days I went by the moniker Sintilating Syd and his beautiful house Naiborra in Jumping Jordanhill. Fond days remembered.
Thanks for uploading this, I worked in STV from 1978 - 1983, a period in time when the Hogmanay Live Show included Hercules the Bear. Great to see so many old faces like Jack, Iain and Alistair from so many years ago, well respected and appreciated people.

Hogmanay not like olden days programmes not worth watching bring back oldies much more enjoyment programmes today are rubbish should be in garbage can TV licence not worth it only an opinion but honestly every Christmas and new year a let down bbc and stv total rubbish
Taks me back are when ah wis a wee bairn(a fair wee while ago noo). A whisky/scotch dram for the adults & an Irn Bru for me an some shortbreid for abody at the Bells tae toast in the New Year.
