I forgot to mention something in the video. While watching the documentary, it jogged my memory from middle school. When I was in the 7th grade, a husband murdered his wife in the wealthiest part of the town where I grew up. We're talking a neighborhood of million dollar homes. Their kids were in my school (though I didn't know them). It was straight out of a movie. The wife & mother was basically a mail-order bride having an affair with the gardener (who ended up blackmailing the family). All of this presumably led to the husband's rage, resulting in him ending his wife's life. He tried to cover the tracks and failed miserably.
The saddest part for me was her "origin story" - her family was back in the Philippines. Imagine getting that news that your daughter who's "made it" in America is now dead - at the hands of the man who brought her there. Again, there's this theme of a woman being viewed as a possession that can be disposed of once no longer wanted. It's crazy how many of these types of stories there are...
KevenTalks, good video!
The only thing that you do that I'm not keen on is the music loop thingy. This video interrupted me clearing out my craft cupboard! I hadn't realised that serial killers had gone out of fashion - interesting. Yes, food for thought. I always wonder why they think they will get aawy with it, especially these days with modern forensic science. Keep doing what you do, Keven.
No more music loops :)
I kept making them because one of them really skyrocketed - by end of year it will probably be my most viewed video ever! However, the rest have paled in comparison. So we're in the clear ;)
Excellent video, Keven. What I find interesting is that the media seems to jump on these crimes if the people involved are either celebrities or good looking, and yes, in a lot of cases, caucasian. The mindset that the public will find these cases more "view worthy" if the victims and/or the perpetrators are handsome or beautiful always fascinated me. I'm sure this has been discussed in many a Psych 101 class.
100% - the psychology of it is fascinating
Stopped watching with the political talk
I love Laci. I wanna be her bff
