In this video prepared by Marine and Safety Tasmania and Rowing Tasmania. It covers how an athlete should be aware and therefore less likely to be at risk of collision.
How to recover in a single or a double scull when you do end up in the water and how to right and climb into the Coach boat.

at my old club my coach made us all do this in a pool as kids, it is so so important and it saved me when i fell out of my single in a huge lake

If you are out on a lake (loch) and see some scull doing a Titanic are you supposed to play Carpathia or are they on their own? Enjoyed the video. Are sculls self bailing?

5:30 I've been conked by the Oar when I was learning on my single and kept falling out lol.
Hurts a lot especially when treading water. Doesn't hurt nearly as bad as getting conked on by the boom in sailing though lol.
Use your core not your legs is what helped me stay in the boat

I practised it as shown here. Many years later my first flip happens. It was hard work to reach the beach. I could not get in to the boat. The boat had backwings, the current was strong and the water very cold. I had panic. 😅

Cry, carry the boat to the bank (in the water) and find a new crew
