Thank you so much for the kind words Elisabetta, as well as thanks to your husband for getting them for you :) I'm so glad youre enjoying them! In case it helps, here's a little extra info based on your inquiries! Da Vinci Paint Co. and Da Vinci brushes are indeed two different companies. Also, I found out after the palette release that their NYD is actually two pigments, PBr24 and PY53. However, I thought that the palette card would have been updated by now so I'll follow up with them about that. My apologes for any confusion! Chickens are some of my favorites, so it was fun to see you paint them!
Thank you so much Denise for this very kind comment!!! I didn’t expect it. Thank you also for the additional information, very useful. This palette is wonderful and your kindness is making me like it even more (if possible!). I have been following you on TH-cam for a long time and you’re one of the artists who made me fall in love with watercolor. Have a very lovely weekend! I think I will watch some of your videos during mine, they are very educational and entertaining at the same time. Once again, thank you. You made my day.
I couldn't wait! Sorry you've been feeling unwell, I hope you feel much better soon. Get plenty of rest! I am on a paint buying moratorium, but I have my eye on the stormy blue & denise's grey. Buona notte! xo
This palette is amazing. Thanks for the video. I would love to see some mixing combinations with these colours...would you consider this as video idea?
I’m sorry to hear that you have the flu as well! I don’t mind it if I can cocoon at home, but if I have to work like I had too it’s really ugly! Your words are very kind, I always feel a bit awkward to paint in a video so I do appreciate them very much. I don’t think Da Vinci paints are available in Europe. Take care of yourself and get better soon! Once again, thank you. ❤️
I’m in Canada, too, and I agree. Studio Six in Ontario Carrie’s Da Vinci paints. They don’t have all the colours but they do have a nice selection. Their prices are ok but they often have sales. Hope this helps
They are wonderful watercolors and I'm so happy you are enjoying them. I've been on the Da Vinci site today trying to decide on a few tubes of paint. BTW, you received 2 thumbs up from my house on your chicken paintings. Love them. 😂 I hope you start feeling better soon, Elisabetta. ❤️🩹 😊
@WatercolorElisabetta There is a gorgeous, new downloadable PDF watercolor chart there, listing the pigments in each paint. 🥳 I have the same issue with ordering internationally. I generally put in a large order to make up for the costly postage. 🤣🤣🤣 Hoping you're feeling a bit better today. 🥰
Sorry to hear you’ve been sick, I hope you are feeling better! This is a lovely set. If only they were easily available over here. Then again, maybe I should be thankful that they rule themselves out 😂
These colours are gorgeous! I'm in the UK, so buying from the US is a problem too. I've found some deeply pigmented watercolours in India, which ended up being less expensive. Viviva. Also a Chinese brand of tube watercolours - Meeden. Several UK and EU artists use both. Thank you for sharing your work.
You know this already but I love Da Vinci! The naples yellow deep, cerulean blue and Denise's grey are my favorites. Try a landscape with cerulean, Denise's grey and iron oxide only, it is so fun.
I really enjoy your videos. Painting style is refreshing and enchanting. You had mentioned how typical it is to get American brand paints. I live in California. If there is an American paint brand you are having difficulties getting let me know.
@@WatercolorElisabetta 30 miles north of San Francisco. Santa Barbara such a beautiful place. So nice and warm all the time. By me, it’s cold, rainy, and foggy in the winter. Do you have micro climates in Italy? We have them here. Every mountain range you go over it gets warmer and warmer and drier as you travel eastward and inland from the coast.
@baldwinleatherworks hi!! No we don’t really have microclimates here. Along the coast it’s usually drier and sunnier, but I wouldn’t call it a microclimate. The first time I heard this word it was in France; I lived 2 years in Paris, and they speak a lot about microclimates there! It’s not a known concept over here. My son took a semester as an exchange student at UC Berkeley and he enjoyed it very much, and he found the weather very nice! He studied 4 years in the Netherlands where it’s always windy and rainy (a diabolical combination 🌧️☔️💨), so it was definitely an improvement. Here where I live it’s usually sunny and dry, it’s a bit worrying because it has changed since my childhood when we had plenty of snow in the winter….
Oh dear, now I Neeeeed this beautiful set! Great job on those gorgeous sketches, too! May I ask what paper you used for the swatching? I have One tube of DaVinci and it is Permanent Alizaren Crimson. It is so rich and vibrant, but they are expensive here in the US as well. I love the Terra Cotta the best for sure!
I am truly a fan of DaVinci Paints of California! I believe that if you and others in the EU addresses were to contact Jackson’s Art Supplies and ask them to stock paints from this wonderful company they would be more of a mind to consider it! I live in California and I am never paying shipping as I meet the minimum price for the free shipping! I believe DaVinci is as good as, perhaps better than Dan Smith. Now I don’t believe that most paint companies have as many colors as DS but how many blues do you truly need or use? I have never heard of a resolution for the court cases made after it was discovered that the Dan Smith company was not using the minerals for their paints they were advertising as gemstone contained within the paints! So many Primatek paints were found to have so little or NONE of the minerals in the actual products! They have never even apologized either! If they can be sold in the EU why not others? I believe that it is just a matter of getting enough people asking for it! Nice swatch video I enjoyed see you work these paints too!
Maybe it’s an idea!! I personally love Daniel Smith, but I find such an extensive range a bit daunting and overwhelming …. It makes me feel I always fail to pick the right colours!! As far as I'm aware, Schmincke and Da Vinci are independent companies. Schmincke for sure is still family owned. That said, Shmincke, Da Vinci, and Hahnemühle have been collaborating for decades; you have seen Da Vinci brushes in Schmincke sets, I am sure. :)

I love this set and thank you so much for exploring it with us. Denise has not just made a useful and interesting palette, but also pointed us to the opaque pigments we don’t always use because they are sometimes hard to integrate into our mainly transparent collections. Maybe we use them for little details or particular effects but then they become a little banal, like English red for tiled roofs etc., instead of getting explored in their own right. I am sure I actually own many of these pigments already, but they are isolated in different collections! Orphaned because they are not with the pigments that are like them, so they stick out like a sore thumb when they get used! An exception maybe are Naples yellow and cobalt teal, for the light bright vivacity. If I cannot get this palette - I have an idea it is pricey- there is always the option to assemble something very similar, and even seek out additional. Pigments that would work well. Your painted examples are lovely, the chickens made me smile. I am in awe of how much you know! Thank you, as always, and I hope you are starting to feel better.
