Another fact: there is no such thing as a zero emissions vehicle. Even a bicycle causes emissions while it is being produced and maintained.
My guy. This isn’t how it works 😂 not a fact. Just a statement you’re saying.
@@HoRRiiBLe1313 well, first of all... I'm not your guy... And second, it is a fact. Sorry to ruin the dream for you.
@@HoRRiiBLe1313 what's not factual about it?
@@onefastneonrtwhat is not factual is what he said. The very definition does not include production nor maintenance.so you can make up definitions to fit your narrative but the one that the United States uses is as follows. “ A zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) is a vehicle that does not release tailpipe emissions of greenhouse gases, toxic air contaminants, or criteria pollutants when operating or stationary”
@@dontbeje11y Technically speaking though it really isn't zero emissions though. It's just offsetting one thing for another. Also what happens to the tires, brakes, and off gassing of the plastics? Those are emitting substance.
I’m in California and currently if you buy a new dirtbike ATV etc. you cannot register which means you cannot get a sticker so you can only ride them on private land. It’s ridiculous.

@perryantonucci5071 if there was no new cars to buy I think public outcry/protesting would force them to change the law. They keep making these stupid laws and nobody does anything. Even if 1/4 of the people stood up we could be back to semi normal in a year. Atleast in a lot better place.
CAFE restrictions do more to stifle available production cars. It’s a key reason they switched to crossovers… because ground clearance and approach angle affects CAFE requirements. It’s also why 1/2 ton trucks have grown the past 2 decades.
If Ford offered the Coyote in a Maverick, now many people would buy it? It would be like the RCSB F150 that people have been hot rodding, except 500+lbs lighter.
Cooper. Look up California title 20. It’s much more than cars. Everything down to kitchen appliances and computers
Or title 24
Which title was it that forces all lawn care machines to be electric.?

Do you not realize the amount of smog California gets? When you have this many people in one area every car spewing out exhaust creates a layer over the city. It has absolutely worked for California. But it’s a state decision so you don’t have to concern yourself as much with it. The majority of people support it just because you don’t doesn’t mean you’re right.
Los Angeles air quality has dramatically improved over the last 30 years because of the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act.

Good stuff. Good to hear someone explaining all the BS and how it affects everyone.
I’m going to make sure I get this correct because I don’t want to throw out things that aren’t facts.
The government has never put even 10 percent of subsidies on EV’s as they do for big oil and gas.
22 was 1 trillion to big oil where they pulled in 3 trillion in revenue.
EV subsidies are in the low billions.
Oil is already popular and we have the lowest gas prices compared to most other developed nations. And we have plenty of gas infrastructure as well.
I think giving scraps to the EV infrastructure pulled and expecting something amazing is a crap shoot. Also If we leave it to the states then Minnesota doesn’t need to have the same requirements as CA like what you’re saying so it really shouldn’t matter. If people in that state want different cars then they need to raise their wages to get on the same level as places that have people buying new (and expensive) cars.
We have less strict car regulation’s in the US as well and that’s why we have a significant amount of “US SPEC” cars
I do have one question for you coop. Do you think the current emissions standards are too strict? Please explain what you would change and how you would employment at a state level.
My thought is state level makes it hard in this scenario just like other hot button topics. Especially with wages so different in spots across the US and real estate getting closer to the same across the board.

I urge you to take the time to do more research on hydrogen before dismissing it as not ready for production simply because it’s not as heavily promoted as electric. That is more a political choice than anything else. Hydrogen technology and design is fully developed today in terms of what could be feasible to put into daily use. In fact the state that is farthest along in using it is California. They have busses in LA running around now that use hydrogen. They have some local gas stations that have hydrogen pumps right next to the gas pumps. Is it in mass production, no, but the concept is proven. Both BMW and Toyota have invested millions in developing hydrogen powered consumer vehicles. You can buy one today if you want. My point is simply that the technology is proven, and safe and effective. It’s just not popular or promoted by governments and industry. The fact that California is still #1 in individual vehicle sales illustrates the self defeating effects of their failed laws and regulations. They want to force people into an all electric world but yet keep all the individual sales. The quickest way to reduce pollution from vehicles is to greatly promote high quality mass transit so that individual vehicle travel is not needed. California has done virtually nothing over the years to provide efficient mass transit throughout the entire state.
Mass transit isn’t the answer, just look at Singapore where it costs $106,000 (US dollars) every 10 years just to have the “privilege” to drive. Since cars aren’t that common, you have to pay crazy amounts of money for a car. Selling a car isn’t easy either, and your car is always at risk of getting your car crushed or confiscated the second you don’t renew your privilege to drive. The solution is to just let a free market be free. California smog is just as bad as it was before carb, so obviously cars aren’t the problem.
@@stephenbevan5475 I never said that mass transit was the answer. There is no “One” single answer to the issues of pollution, traffic and congestion. But good mass transit can and does help a lot as has been demonstrated in many cities and countries around the world. In the US we have lagged behind greatly to add in efficient mass transit as part of the way to move people and cargo. Singapore????? What the heck is that about? It’s a tiny foreign country of barely 6 million people with a total area of about 284 square miles and does not manufacture vehicles. California has an area of over 163,000 square miles and a population of 39 million people. As well as being the state that sells the most vehicles of USA. In the environment that Cali has with ocean on the west and mountains on the east cars are definitely a contributor to their problem the air and smog get trapped and do not clear out as easily as other states. The fact that they have tried for decades to regulate emissions with crazy laws and the smog levels have not improved one bit illustrated how poor results are when government is in charge. Their attempt to regulate away smog via CARB has failed but not because cars don’t add to the problem. Vehicle sales generate a lot of tax money for the state so they don’t want to lose that #1 sales status. But rather think they can force EV’s on every citizen as their solution. That will fail also for many reasons. You say “let free market be free”. But passing laws that prohibit a resident from buying a gas powered vehicle is not free market. In 2035 ICE vehicles will still be completely legal products in this country everywhere except Cali. That’s not free market nor is it constitutional. There are already challenges mounting in Congress and I expect there will be more battles before this bad precedent is allowed to take place in 11 years.
Anyone else get a Kamala ad asking for money? Gtfoh

Cars don’t pollute near as much as big container ships and jets. Cars are a very small issue to get upset over. It’s dumb to concentrate on that alone.
