Hey all, commissioner here! Therewolf did an excellent job with this one if I do say so myself! I think he did an excellent job with incorporating the Ghostbusters signature theme while also mixing it with some Tim Burton-esc spookiness.
As a fan of all things strange and unusual, I adore Beetlejuice and the Ghostbusters as franchises! In fact, Ghostbusters happens to be in my top 5 favorite movies, and Beetlejuice is one of my top 5 favorite characters! So, pairing them together like this has always appealed to me.
I like this battle not just due to having the Ghostbusters take on such a unique ghost with a variety of powers, but because Beetlejuice prides himself on being able to take care of any living being that’s disturbing the dead, it’s his job. He’s essentially the Ghostbuster of the Neitherworld, so having them go head to head (to head to head to head) like this just makes sense!
It’d also just be fun to see how Venkman, Ray, Egon and Winston would play off Beetlejuice, who’d be messing with them the whole time. I can already imagine Venkman’s nonchalant responses to some of Beetlejuice’s crazy faces, and I’d love to see Ray attempt to broker a peace treaty that gets spit back in his face (potentially in a very literal sense)
This is a crossover I’ve always wanted, so getting this track made is such a treat to me. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

This reminds me of when the Ghostbusters would fight Beetlejuice on the streets of Universal Studios Orlando, which the B-Man would inevitably turn into a possessed dance number.

Man I get nostalgic every time I hear the Ghostbusters theme and up against Beetlejuice huh, another great classic matchup with a clever title.
If Godzilla got a song to celebrate Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire and Ghostbusters now gets one to celebrate Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, I think it's possible for us to see a song for Kung Fu Panda and Dune very soon.
This song is most likely also for Beetlejuice 2 and not just for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Wacky matchups always make for some very interesting songs so I was quite curious about this one for sure.
And that song for sure is just that. It's extremely wacky but in the good way: it knows the absurdity of the matchup and doesn't hesitate to go all out on it. And I'm all for it. As someone that doesn't know a single thing about Beetlejuice beyond the name I was a bit worried that I wouldn't grasp most of the references in there beyond the GB main theme and, to a certain extent it's true but I most definitely feel like I understood the intent of the song which is just to be a really funky and enjoyable horror comedy track.
The way Therewolf managed to mix outright comical melodies with more pure rock-like ones is done really well throughout the song and gives it a really appreciable dynamic of having the more outright wacky segments which I assume fit Beetlejuice have a duality with the more rock-like ones to fit the Ghostbusters and it succeeds really well at that. Actually feels like both sides of the matchup are fighting for control over the song and I really appreciate whenever a song does this because it gives it a lot of personality and makes it feel that much more dynamic.
And speaking of dynamism I of course cannot not mention the TV samba segment at 2:20. What it means ? I don't know. But it sounds funky and I find it funny so it fits quite nicely to me. Don't have much to say on it other than that but yeah, it's a really funky segment that gives the track a ton of personality while making it stand out. Is it the highlight of the song ? Not particularly, but it's unique so I wanted to mention it.
The true highlight of the song to me is of course the ending starting at 2:56. I know the GB main theme is heard once before in the song prior to the ending but IMO the ending is where both it and the song as a whole truly shine. It wonderfully mixes the more comedic side of things with the more rock-focused one and it ends up providing an absolutely amazing finale. Special mention to the trumpets that join into the main riff at 3:11 giving it even more impact and funkiness and improving the finale to be even better than it would have been otherwise. Really good conclusion in general.
Overall this track is a solid song in the category of "wacky matchups with interesting premises", it manages to fit both sides of the matchup (or, once again, at least I assume so in Beetlejuice's case) while having a really unique and personality-filled runtime that just is extremely appreciable to listen to in general. It feels like a track from a crossover between the two and I find that great. Amazing job as always with this.
The samba section is a reference to the Banana Boat and Shake Senora songs in Beetlejuices movie. My guess is Beetlejuice possessed the Ghostbusters temporarily to make them sing for a joke.
The nostalgia from the Ghostbusters theme hit me like a truck

Apparently, the ghostbusters win. They somehow have beaten characters that are above universal, while beetlejuice should only be universal. He’s getting trapped.

I really do love how this song mixes some of that Beetlejuice charm with the Ghostbusters theme. Also the cut to instrumental Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora) is a nice touch and it reminds me when Deadpool vs. the Mask did a similar thing. I can imagine Beetlejuice dancing to this while dodging Proton Blasts and other tools from the Ghostbusters arsenal like from Ghostbusters the Videogame. Maybe if this were to become official or Beetlejuice came into Death Battle against someone else Alexander Michael Brightman could sing the lyrics for the song for said matchup.

Ok I know jack about Beetlejuice but I could guess what would happen in an animation using this track
The animation starts with the Ghostbusters investigating a location, PKE meters out, obviously someone says the big B's name 3 times and he comes out at 00:30
From that point on it's just him messing around with the Ghostbusters, making fools out of all of them up until 1:00 where they manage to get out of whatever crazy thing Beetlejuice got them stuck in to mess with them and at 1:17 with the Ghostbusters theme is when they manage to wrap the Proton Streams around him and get in a few good hits in by slamming him against walls similar to the Ghostbusters video game to reference that (If Beetlejuice is to win you could see this as the required "pitty hits" so the weaker character can seem like they had a chance).
I have no idea what would come after though

As soon as they cross their streams, Beetlejuice is busted.
If the Ghostbusters could deal with the world conquering Zuul *twice* , then I dont see Beetljuice being much of an issue outside of standard hijinx.
BJ still puts up a huge fight. He's strong enough to fight a living constellation, and he's got a ton of hax. While the Busters proton packs are super powerful, the Busters themselves aren't. BJ could warp them to Saturn, petrify them, trap them in a time loop, transmutate their packs, bring their packs to life to attack them, or just induce instant death by making a finger gun at them. Really, this match boils down to speed.
It would still be fun to watch Beetlejuice mess with the Ghostbusters. Possession, shapeshifting, moving the house around to separate the Ghostbusters, and of course, doing a musical number.

Beetlejuice would actually be quite a challenge. The Ghostbusters are "a small team and even one ghost can be a full job". Beetlejuice is like 7000 full jobs. Who had been calloused through his adventures protecting Lydia. The professionals would be pretty darn annoying to the rowdy ghost, but Beetlejuice had contended with Sandworms. NINJAS contend with those things. Beetlejuice will surely give the Ghostbusters a rough time. Perhaps..... maybe even win. o-o

@@Squeam9750 Unless there's something about Ghostbusters that I'm unaware of Beetlejuice should take this easily since in the Beetlejuice cartoon he's able to fight star constellations which already puts his AP, strength and durability infinitely higher than the Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice also has some very broken hax such as cloning, regeneration, shapeshifting, teleportation, hypnosis, transmutation, 4th Wall Awareness, size manipulation, weather manipulation, time manipulation, reality warping, life manipulation and even death manipulation

The ghosts of the Beetlejuice universe are physical with minor reality warping capability and teleporting. He punched out a literal star constellation and has the ability to simply teleport them to a black hole or a active volcano
@@Noname-ud4he Here's the Beetlejuice would never start off fights like that. Ghostbusters would immediately plan to trap BJ, while BJ would plan to mess with the GB, not thinking of them as threats until its too late.
