The Age of ultron comparison is so apt, it had this same vibe, all statues with the camera doing dramatic angles with swell music. But OMG THE WEEKND IS GONNA HEAL US ALL WITH THIS ONE.
the song is actually called (or probably) "hold your heart"!! its an unreleased song which Abel teased in a live stream in 2020 before after hours dropped :) everyone thought it'd be on there but i guess he changed his mind haha Im really hyped that he's putting it on the new one tho!!
It's probably gonna be called "hold my heart" now since the lyrics are different but it was also supposed to be on starboy, there is a leaked version that is produced by skrillex
The 3 abels when "hold my heart" starts playing is probably abel from after hours (first(most obvious)), and the young abel from dawn fm (second) and old abel from dawn fm (third)
Also the whole title for this video is on his Twitter, he posted it a day before he put it on TH-cam probably because he couldn't put the whole title into youtube so he shortened it "when you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you..."
An interesting fact is that the person in white clothing who appears at the end is inspired by the painting The Ethiopian Mother by Afewerk Tekle in 1963, which Abel himself has tattooed on his forearm, this may represent salvation by his mother. or maybe he would change him for someone else, remember that Abel has Ethiopian descent
at some point in your journey you might really like his Live at Sofi Stadium album from last year. imo it showcases his vocal ability better than any studio album & it’s cool to see how he can replicate some of the production while also keeping the energy at a constantly high level
Im not sure tbh, i feel like he’d only do it for this album if it was conceptually fitting. Could be awesome though! Immediately just thought, Man In The Mirror would possibly be fitting just from what we can assume lmao
Notice how his past selves look possessed. Like he was doing someone elses bidding. If you look closely in this new vid theres a moth im the background. Signifying rebirth. He wants out. Hes trying to get to the root of everything. Hence why his mother is in. Her maybe some past trauma. Healing. Abel wants his younger self back. The light. When we're young, we're full of light. It dims as we get older. The Weeknd was his destructive self. After this trilogy, we'll get Abel. A healed abel...
I wonder guys …. do you think we will begin the cd with this ?? will the experience begin with him reaching up into the light ?? and we progress thru the cd and the ‘take me back to la’ portion begins ? will he throw himself out of the heaven he has ascended to ? is The Weeknd doomed to forever toil in hell ?? I wonder if this bit here will actually be the conclusion of the cd. or if it will be the beginning. preluding a swerve that comes later on.
I think the take me back to LA part could be somewhere after the half mark of this album. Because i feel it is about wanting to go back to the old times (after hours) because only things you remember about them are the good memories and fun. Not the part that you were miserable and self destructive. So i feel like the song is about making the decision of going back and going forward. Which could mean that this album could be about choosing between sonething familiar and being reborn as something new
i think its a progressive trilogy. After hours is about his past drug use and "trilogy" era. Dawn FM is about accepting his mistakes and trying to find peace and heaven in himself. And now this album is about his young self trying to avoid After Hours and eventually reach the Dawn FM lifestyle of living on earth and embracing the heaven inside him maybe?
My take is that After hours is about living chasing a short time benefit which is self destructive. Dawn Fm part is about looking back at your mistakes and past life. And this new chapter could be about being reborn but as you said trying not to fall into the old toxic lifestyle even though the short term benefits might lure us.
Oh yeah and if take me back to LA is on this record it could be about looking back at old times romantizing about them and only remembering the good parts. Which could be the last decision between this new life and old familiar and arguably easier life. Because change is hard. And when we try to change our lives theres always something in the back of your head trying to make you give up because its easier
@@iamthematti i agree with that take. Its just that The Weeknds lyrics is always grounded in reality and i dont think he will get into "reborn" stuff unless its a metaphor
I thought the inferno part was same as hell. Which was after hours. Wasnt it something like: hell, purgatory and paradise? Which would mean that this last part would be related to paradise/heaven
Great vid That show he’s doing on Sep 7th in São Paulo could be a game changer he might even play a bunch of new songs that night including hold ur heart hopefully 🙏
Weeknds marketing is top tier lol he knows how toto hype up an album drop.
Most definitely, I am fkn AMPED 🔥🔥

Right!!! Thank you!! Lmao
I’m so stoked for this!

Ohhhh, very interesting!! 🧐
Thanks!! 🙏🏼
ABEL is an ANGEL, his voice, OMG.
I had the same reaction when the song cuts off lol
I want it so badly!!!! 😩😩😩

Most definitely on the list!!! I HAVE to hear the rest of his catalog at this point lmao, it’d be wildly unsatisfying to not lol
@@YourLocalMelomaniacand it explains him reaching for himself away from the dancing girls. So many Easter eggs in these latest teasers
The cut off is disappointing haha, you should of trolled us and just randomly ended the video by cutting off to would of been funny
That would’ve been hilarious, missed opportunity lmao
Octobers the day the album releases
yeahhh
“Is this a new song?”
Well… noyes
Lmfao, basically that’s what I’m getting 😂😂
In the third part of Trilogy, echoes of silence, there was a Michael Jackson cover. Do you think we will get another one ?
Im not sure tbh, i feel like he’d only do it for this album if it was conceptually fitting. Could be awesome though!
Immediately just thought, Man In The Mirror would possibly be fitting just from what we can assume lmao
best comment 💖🎉😊
7:25 the 3 weeknds is AH DFM & surely this last project because its not over until last song right
True, someone else said old and young from Dawn FM. But I’m not sure really, also reminded me of COD zombies with the glowing eyes 😂😂
Yap
Watch the original
@@YourLocalMelomaniac lmao yeah I saw reaction in the titled not break down, so it just caught me off gaurd
I mean it was first reaction lmao, I just watch intently 😂😂
@@YourLocalMelomaniac lmao yeah evb has their own thing good shit
Read about the Divine Comedy by Dante to understand this new trilogy a little more.
Interesting 🤔
I love you so much🤤😭😊
You should to react to his other albums Beauty Behind the Madness, Starboy, My Dear Melancholy, and songs from his HBO series The Idol.
I most definitely am!! The live album too 💯💯
@@YourLocalMelomaniac Can't wait bro! Oh and just in case you didn't know his songs for "The Idol" are spread out in 5 episodes. Happy listening!

Best examples is "Faith" in After hours and "phantom regret" in Dawn FM
i think another example haha is the shot where he holds the Dawn FM mask on his knees while the After Hours demons watches him

He is running towards Jesus
Yeah I really don’t know how I didn’t see it that way lol
am just gonna take a wild guess at what the album title is gonna be ... :) "inferno"

he is trying to reach Jesus and the cross, look at it again.

💯💯
It’s Jesus Christ who he run to in the end and it’s Ethiopia orthodox cross you see above the lights
Abel is from Ethiopia
