Great, great information. Thank you! I have one tree in our back yard that needs your expertise. I will buy your product and keep you updated on the progress. By the way I noticed you sued only 2 products but the description mention several products. Please advise. Thank you!
Yes, keep us updated on your progress! :) We used Blend and Penetrate. Blend is a proportionally premixed bag of our Optimize, Maximize, and Nourish Biosol. You can buy it as Blend if you are going to use it all within a few months, if not, you can buy the 3 products separately and combined yourself as needed. So that is why there are more than 2 products in the description, hopefully that clears things up! :)
It's an excellent video; I’m glad it’s back. I have two sick redwoods in my backyard in Kern County. They’re looking hopeless, with a very minimum to no living signal. Do you think, can I apply your products in the next week or two and get a result on my redwoods?
Glad you found it helpful! We have a video specifically about redwoods. Give that a watch and see if it helps guide you a bit better: th-cam.com/video/xefa25wNAlI/w-d-xo.html. Watering is important for redwoods. You can also email us about your struggles and include pictures so we can give you a more detailed recommendation. Our email is customerservice@johnandbobs.com
I have a 30 year old Plumeria, native to Asia. It is kind of a center piece to my garden but it's been wilting away for a good 2 years now. Every gardener I hire comes up with a different set of ideas but nothing works. I've pictures from earlier and it used to bloom so nice. I'll try your method and add Mulch and see if that improves.
Im sorry to hear about your tree struggles. If you want to send some pictures of your tree along with what issues you are experiencing to customerservice@johnandbobs.com we can try to give you some more personalized and detailed recommendations!
Yes, this protocol works great for trees and shrubs (all plants). In fact we revived a mock Orange shrub in a recent video which you might find helpful! (you can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/f_TODZj-lTM/w-d-xo.html). In mild parts of the Western U.S. I use our Blend right through the winter. In colder climates I recommend our Optimize only.
Hello! Love the video. Looking to save a 14 year old African Sumac suffering from a black fungus. Also possibly a mite infestation though I haven’t seen any, just white residue. His bark has begun to fall off and every tree company has recommend removal but I will try everything before i let that happen. Curious what you might recommend for such an advanced case. Thanks!
I recommend 6lbs of our Blend topically over the root zone every other week 4 times starting about now and spray or drench over the Blend with 8oz of our Penetrate Liquid Biotiller in about 2gallons water each time. Also, mulch over the root zone after the 1st or second application with 1-2" of a good quality compost or earthworm castings or a good top dress mulch. Keep us updated! - John
Would the same treatment work on a guava tree whose trunk was affected by a pest? The last time it bore fruit was last September, but after a month its branches have dried up.
Yes. We want our products to get near the root system of the tree which can extend to, or even past, the edge of the canopy. If it is a really large area you can use only Optimize (rather than Blend) to be more cost efficient, but the effects will take longer. If cost is not an issue then applying Blend and Penetrate under the entire canopy is the most effective option! :)
The oldest living tree in the world is Methuselah, a Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus lon-gaeva) in the White Mountains of California. The tree is 4,854 years old.
What do you recommend for feeding coast redwoods? I have one that’s dying from the top down and I’m increasing the watering but I don’t think that will save it. I’m in Fresno too
I recommend about 6lbs topically applied of our Blend over the root zone followed by an 8oz drench in 5 gallons of water of our Penetrate Liquid Biotiller over the Blend weekly for 4 weeks twice per year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter). Check out our TH-cam video on this exact topic too - th-cam.com/video/xefa25wNAlI/w-d-xo.html
It's the treatment I use to maximize the health of all trees and represents our best hope for the problems you referenced. For Fireblight I usually prune out infected branches and then treat the root zone 3 or 4 times as per the video. There really isn't a cure for fireblight, but I've gotten some good results by infusing the soil with beneficial soil life. I regard it as our best hope for treating some of the more mysterious horticultural diseases.
I pruned infected branches, except one on the top. Then I applied this treatment it was a week ago and now I see a huge progress. I hope it will recover. Thank you 🙏🏻
Usually, there isn't a way to save a dying Willow with bracket fungus. That fungus usually only attacks weak, compromised trees. You can prevent shelf bracket fungus by focusing on healthy soil and proper watering. - John
Would this application help with a mature tree being attacked by wood boring beetles? Basically spraying leaves with some product a local arborist recommended. Sprayed twice to 4 times a week but not seeing results after a couple of months.
Yes! I would recommended using our Blend and earth worm castings. You can also use Penetrate on the soil and you can spray it on the leaves for pests & fungus.
@@JohnandBobs Thanks for the reply. I've finally did look at the Blend product and noticed it was....well a blend of your other products. I'm thinking about getting the Clay & Hard Soil Kit as I need to get my soil in order as my Zeon Zyosia is looking a little less green too. May as well "kill two birds with one stone" is my approach.
Was watching this in order to understand Psalm 1:3 better. Thank you so mulch! ;) The water of Scripture applies Christ, which the blessed man is planted in, to the man who meditates upon God's law day and night. Without Scripture, we would be hungry for Christ, but cannot grow and become more alive. It is only by the water of the word of God that we may be nourished. Amen

How to save my lovely desert cassia tree? It seems sick , there’s no leaves left on it neither does it bloom beautifully anymore. There’s green fungus on the stem …😢
We are sorry to hear that. Send us some pictures of your tree to customerservice@johnandbobs.com and restate what issues you have been experiencing and we will see if there is anything we can recommend to save it!

Would you recommend this for a shrub as well? Also, is there anything for winter care on shrubs and bushes?

How can you save a tree from termites? Would love to see a video with your thoughts on that
It is possible to save if they haven't reached the center of the tree. We will add that to our list of video topic ideas. We appreciate your input 😊
So impressed with this video. In my mind I would have given up on this tree and maybe started over with something else. Very impressive!!! 👀❤️👍
Thank you! Never give up :)

Our tree restoration protocol works great on all trees and shrubs, including Guava!
Would the results be negatively impacted if applied around a tree in some grass?
Hi there!
No, we follow the same protocol and principles whether surrounded by turf or not. Thanks for the comment, J&Bs
For a large tree that is not doing well, should your products be applied under the entire canopy? It's a very large area.

Should I water tree right after treatment?
It does not need to be watered in immediately. You can keep normal watering schedule, or water it in right after treatment :)

Yes, mix it all up and use. It will be fully effective. With moisture and a little or a lot of heat, a harmless mold can grow.
