This was our wedding song--even learned to waltz to dance to it. We had the Rude Girls version, which is excellent, too.

Gm/A flat haunting, interesting old friends endure more than only musical changes

And this is the only song we children - played live at our father's funeral.

The melody reminds me of "Als ich fortging" (Karussell/Dirk Michaelis).

The mid- song improv is great.. Andy is the bridge between blue grass purist, hippies and religious (frum) Jews. Kol Hakavod

Only Andy can play this right. I've tried to listen to covers of this tune, and they're all awful. This rendition by the composer is the only one worth listening to, and that experience is divine.

Clearly influenced by Yerushalayim Shel Zahav, another Jewish tune Andrew Statman and David Grisman play. Very cool!
