I was so disappointed when I found out it was just a demo. But the mod looks promising and the voice acting sounds amazing. I will 100% do a review of that when it's in full release!
@@Limit5482 Personally I would highly recommend playing FF9 with the Moguri Mod as it stands right now, I'm having a blast! Of course I've played this game maybe like 100+ times in the last 24 years so maybe I'm a tad bias...🤣🤣🤣
@@wroobyplays yeah I’ve played it maybe 2 times but I don’t remember it ever being an amazing game. I think it was good but I always wanted to play it again and I have it on my phone and I think I tried like 10 times but just couldn’t do it. Now like this plus a steamdeck I’m in 100%. The only reason I want the voice acting mod to be complete is the battles. Man that 💩 looks amazing with the mod plus voices during battles. Now I have to wait
@@Limit5482 This game holds a very special place in my heart. It's kind of like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Once you've played through it a time or two, know all the tips and tricks, and know where everything is, it's SO satisfying to breeze through it. So good. Once the Echo S-9 mod is complete, I really hope you enjoy the experience!
something i noticed when you activate Vivi's enhancement it also allows Steiner to use Aero, Quake, Water to aga spells. Maybe thats the only reason Steiner only get to equip Save the queen case when you activate Vivi's, Steiner really becomes a way too powerful
That's a really interesting observation! I installed the mod while my party is on the Outer Continent for the first time, so I don't currently have access to Steiner. I could see where having access to both the new xAGA spells AND Save The Queen would make him way too OP. And if you coupled all that with the Break Damage Limit cheat you'd probably be able to one-shot too many of the bosses (or at least make them trivial).
Amazing mod, however has anyone noticed the audio crackling when using the OG soundtrack? Also certain areas don't display in full wide-screen, not a massive issue all things considered, still an amazing mod
I actually haven't tried it with the OG sound track, I'll have to check. For the wide screen issue I think that's because some of the pre-rendered back grounds were only that aspect ratio. I dont think the dev team extended any of those images, so wide screen works for larger back grounds but not for the smaller instances.
That shouldn't be an issue. I was running version 8.x before I downloaded the Memoria patcher and installed Moguri 9.0. Knowing what I do about computers and code, you shouldn't have a problem with the save file unless you attempt to install and use a mod that changes the story triggers in some impactful way.
Not giving you flak just explaining Modern Linux Gaming these Days is Windows Gaming. Its all done through a Compatability layer that Simulates Windows API calls that games make. Sounds Complicated its not. From the Player Perspective all you have to do is enable it through Steam Settings. Toggle both the Compatibility Toggles in the Compatibility Steam Settings Menu. There is no Linux Version of FFIX. FFIX on Linux is the Windows Version. This is all I can say because it appears something in my previous Comments keeps tripping the TH-cam Censor
Going to try to say what I said before shortly as a reply to this. The Windows Games that don't work on Linux through Proton are Games that are Coded to Break Proton specifically(specific Kernel level EAC, quite a bit of Kernel level EACs play nice with Proton) or games that don't play their Cutscene through their own game Engine.
Thank you! I'm fully aware of Proton and how it works. The last several times I've tried Linux gaming (admittedly several years ago) it was a nightmare. As an example I tried playing Fallout 76, but before i could play it (with proton enabled) I had to download a driver, but that driver didn't exist on the default repo installed on PopOS (the supposedly best distro for gaming at the time) so I had to install a new repo to download the driver. By the time I had diagnosed the driver issue, figured out to add a repo to Linux, downloaded and install the driver, and get to play the game it was like 3 hours troubleshooting. This was not a one time occurrence, it happened with several Steam games using Proton. I work IT in my day job and deal with enough broken tech there, I'm ok with dealing with Windows BS if it means I can just download and install a game without having the headache.
@@lexcelius6921 Please don't mistake me. I love Linux as much as the next guy. I will recommend it for LITERALLY anything else. Web servers, word processing, graphic design, video editing. But when it comes to gaming...I have a really hard time suggesting it, from personal experience. This comment does bring up a good point though, I've been considering doing a experiment video trying Linux gaming again in 2024. So maybe I'll give it another go.
Yeah. Fallout 76. I tried that Recently on my Machine it was Laggy to the Point where it made Discord and the rest of my Machine Lag and I have a 5700G and 6700XT. Its weird that it's performance sucks because every other other Bethesda Game, from Morrowind, the new Dooms to Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition, runs smoother under Proton. Also not bashing you're Choice Pop OS ever since watching the LTT Challenge I will never touch Pop OS, I know its stabler than Linus Showed but... the Fact that a Flatpak broke his Desktop by running Sudo -Rns yeah... I will not trust that. I would say what I use but its name seems to also be in the TH-cam Censor. Its an Arch Based Distro that just comes with all the Gaming and WINE Tweaks Preinstalled and automatically Checks for and Installs Nvidia Drivers. Its name starts with a G and ends with an A and is known as a just works Arch Distro.
Grahpical Enhancements...
Can't wait until Echo S9 Mod will be done to add to these other Mods to finally replay the BEST GAME EVAR!

Now we just need to get the text translated to match the original Japanese text. That would make for an interesting replay of the game.
Oh yeah, I have always wondered what they might have changed in the international release.
Is Alternate Fantasy still compatible with this mod?
Alternate fantasy is still in the moguri mod list, but I haven't tried it yet.
