In between the Grumps getting 5 Lose a Turns in a row, Emile having the game crash on him when he was about to win, and now this, I’m pretty sure this version of Wheel Of Fortune is cursed.
Pikayoshi why didn’t these guys just continue the game, they just stared at that screen forever, what a waste of time, I was middle school when this was happening.
I think I know what happened. It counted from the amount of time Gex had remaining, then when Tom ran out of time, it went into the negatives, hence why it started counting up, but the game doesn't know how to show a negative, so it looks like it's counting up.
For those asking how far the counter went, Jon kept his promise and left it in full view for the rest of the stream. It just got up to 6072 when he decided to end the stream. He didn’t even finish the game onscreen, he just quit the game after the ‘Stream’s Over’. (I assume that’s what happened, all I heard was a Wheel of Fortune-ish sound effect) Link if you want to see for yourself: th-cam.com/video/_quxnly4qwU/w-d-xo.html
Legit, Jon glitches *something* all the time. Like every couple streams there's some glitch in a game he just so happens to encounter, even in games that you rarely see glitches at all.
@@StarryNovaSaiyan Yeah, I kinda figured that when further down the video, someone was CLAMORING for a protonGlitch emote, and i was like, "omg, this *predates* that emote." I feel like this is proof that when Jon and Reese have a kid, and one day they will stream, and every game will glitch and they will just be like: “Fucking damnit, I inherited the worst skill from my father.”
Literally. From what I keep hearing bug testing isn’t paid enough for how tedious the process of banging your head into the corner for ten minutes per wall is.
Because integers in programming don't normally care how big your text box is. They probably just had it print the number and align it to the right of the box, never thinking someone would glitch it up and get it to count upwards towards presumably the largest number the type of integer can possibly hold. Which could be over 60000 or even over a billion depending on they type of integer
You can figure out the integer number using the system itself. 8-bit typically goes to 256, 16 going to 64,550 or something close to that. This is probably between 3 million and 300 million or so, judging by how the game looks. That said, they might have programmed an area where it can appear, so the numbers would get cut off after some point. Even without that, at some point the number would just go off screen.
@@theinsanegamer1024 uh, no, I have a bandicam video taped 4 days ago when I FINALLY got the timer glitch while playing this game on the pcsx emulator!
I have a bit of programming knowledge. I think what's happening is that the timer never gets resets, but keeps decreasing. While we see it counting upwards, it is actually going in the negative - the programmers simply didn't put in a "-" sign for the display.
So, here's my question. Why it was programmed with 16-bit/32-bit instead of 8-bit? 255 should have been the limit, yet it went above. Or was there an overflow that it started going into other memory banks?
That's what I want to know... maybe TRG & Friends Stream Archives may have the answer, but it depends on when T&F Stream Archives started doing the archive and when this stream was done.
@@1PressL2P It doesn't matter how they coded it. All that matters is, what is the highest integer value the Playstation can handle? Cause that's where the counter's going to.
Jon's definitely got to have some weird stuff in his Ancestry. Either he's Descended from some sort of god or demon or fae or something or one of his ancestors pised one of those off. Or multiple of these things.
Also if Wesker screaming "I'M COMING" followed by the Cyberpunk theme hasn't made it into the egg pack yet, there, there's your free idea for whoever wants to do it.
WTF WHEN THE TIMER WAS 10 SECONDS FROM 999 THE HOUSE COULDN'T HANDLE IT AND THE POWER TURNED OFF UNTIL 1000. This seems to be a fake comment but this literally happened and I'm so happy.
They said that they're more curious on how high the timer goes than they were interested in continuing the game. Continuing to play also would've fixed the timer at some point, so they didn't play anything to not compromise their own curiosity.
@@Crazykidthree33 but that was the biggest problem and just completely ignored finishing the game I was waiting for them to choose but they did not care at all, also how does the timer get fixed if the boys chose one of the answers?
@@MorganNye Exactly, they didn't care to. So they didn't, nor should they feel obligated if they don't really want to. It's just a game after all. As for the timer, it could easily be fixed by the way it resets normally in the game. Like, changing turns between people the timer might start counting down from 60 and should normally reset back to 60 once the turn is up so that the next player also gets 60 seconds. Likely, the more they continued to play, the more likely something would eventually call upon the timer to set a new time to get it back to normal. It's just how code usually works in these scenarios, because it's smart and efficient to reuse the same timer over and over rather than use more code to make entirely separate ones that serve the same exact purpose.
@@MorganNye Somehow, the game didn't know what to do when the timer hit zero while in between trying to swap to the questions and either something had overwritten the timer reset temporarily or had skipped past the check in the code to reset it. It can also be incredibly convoluted to the point that several things need to happen over mere fractions of seconds that weren't intended to happen together, or be as simple as the timer merely needs to hit zero while the game is loading the questions to make it forget to reset the timer for the next player.
Once you glitch Wheel of Fortune of all things, that's when you know Jon is the best QA tester no one ever hired.

This, my friends, is why you reset your time counters every time you have a timer start a countdown.
