God bless you🙏🏽
I grew some in my garden several years ago and even 10 degrees (F) won't kill them. Walter Reeves from WSB said they were not any good after they "bolt." So thank you from Henry county for the info on removing the seed heads and let them keep growing.
Awesome tip! Tfs

Thank you for sharing! You're awesome! 👍 I love you too. God bless you 🙏❤️
You are welcome 💋
I just threw out collard seeds out a few days ago and they are starting to sprout. Great video, never knew this.
Yes, if you don't need seeds, remove all the flowers on top of all your brassicas, so maybe do 1 or 2 of each brassicas, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower brussell sprouts, it will save you money and time and allow you to have on going green vegetables..try it and keep me posted ❤
Great job 🌱
Thanks so much
Thanks for the onion and garlic tip. I an renting for now using grow bags in a greenhouse outdoors. Can I grown onions and or garlic in the same bag?
Very inspiring video thank you! I am getting everything together now. I have never grown nothing but that's what it have came to. So I decided to just concentrate on Collars for now. I do have other seeds but that's my focus for now. I love Collard greens and they healthy. So, like you say if I have to eat the same thing everyday collard greens it will be. Thanks for that message God Bless You. Zone 5b Michigan
Congratulations on your own garden journey, I hope you enjoy the peace and joy it brings and abundance of food for you and your family
@@hypertheticallyspeakinggardner I did buy netting as well for frost times and bugs. So I will keep following you Thank You so much😘
It only lasts for a while… It is nature for the plant to want to put off seeds and complete its lifecycle. By pinching off the flowers, all you are doing is temporarily stopping it from going to seed and what happens is you get smaller and less quality collared leaves. For me, it would be worth it to have several other plants planted in succession to get a continued harvest of quality leaves.
Yes it would that's why I let 10% or 15% of my collards go to seed and leave the rest of the collard greens for daily dinner meals.
Is that the same thing for kale?Because I'm about to remove mine
Probably, I just started my dinnasour kale from seeds, so I will experiment, every one around the world, we just have to try and make our gardens work for us and see test the limits of each plant or herbs, vegetables and fruits, what might work for 1 might not work for someone else, much love in you garden ❤
How do you keep pests away from your garden?
Marigold, purple basil, onions, garlic, and pots of rosemary, mints and amarath, around the garden
I would rather have the seeds.
Awesome okay, yes i have plenty of seeds produced over 5 years myself, love the greens 💚
Happy gardening thanks for stopping by
