A truly impressive intro screen
thank you
Peter, it has been a years long dream to own one of your originals but could never afford it until now, I truly love this piece and I am so excited to have it as a prize possession alongside my Dayfever comic. Thank you!!!
On the subject of voice control in the show, it actually makes sense inside the ships when you think about the fact that during the high-g burns they do sometimes, their bodies become so heavy that they can't move their arms properly !
So voice control instead of typing becomes a necessity in those ships, and then maybe it just disseminated once people got used to it
Your most satisfying unboxing to date. 🔪
That was criminal
I absolutely LOVE “The Expanse”!! I’ve watched it at least 3 times. It had gotten dropped by SyFy originally…leaving the storylines with no ending, which was very upsetting, until AmazonVideo picked it up (yay!) But I agree with what you said about it. It did feel like the story lost it’s way at times. One season was almost entirely set with the characters trapped in a cave…
Telltale games even released a video game for it this year. I’ve never read the books. I’m very much a visual person who enjoys seeing versus reading. It was actually great hearing your opinions about the series, as I didn’t have anyone to talk to about the show while I was binge watching it over the years 😊 which was kind of sad.
Also those pens look really nice!
The Expanse was a cool show, it's sad that it got canceled. One time I thought the lasagna pan in one of the episodes looked familiar and then I realized that I had seen it on amazon.
Haha yeah the zig zag lasagna pans?
I’ve found the odd pen...even one from the Dollar Tree...that I have found peculiarly satisfying to draw with.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and the videos of you sketching whatever comes to mind has inspired me to draw. I appreciate you posting them.
Welcome to the club.
The beauty of it is this style of drawing, you can't make 'mistakes'
@@limmoblack Indeed. I kept trying to draw specific things and failing made me rage quit lol.
Hi Peter. I found these Precision R2 pens at Dollar Tree. They are really great. Love watching your videos. You have inspired me to draw although I suffer from tumors on my right hand. Makes for some funky drawings for sure!
Yep. Dollar tree's redeeming value is its pens &office supplies and Cliff bars
I used them a few years ago. I loved the way they felt smooth. Cant beat one dollar at dollar tree, but i eventually stopped using these pens cause the ink dried to slow for my taste. Maybe I was wrong.
Rollerballs are my favorites! I got myself a kaweco sports (the more fancy one) but I mostly use the pentel (enerGel) 👍😉
I've been delving into the Expanse series via books. Currently in Volume 6! It is a great series, with great insight taken to realistic and logical future space life.
Dude, you are lucky for not stabbing one of the pens. You even went through two of the boxes!
Already mesmerized by the intro. 😍
the intro made me giggle
Dollar tree or all a dollar that is where I bought mine. They don't always have them. But this school year they did.
The Expanse short stories are all collected in one book Memory’s Legion. It won’t be as hard as you think.
Oh thanks, I’ll look that up.
there is a man behind you
Where
Yes these are Dollar Tree pens! That is what I thought. I seen these at the dollar store
ive used these pens alot throughout the years, and they’re my favorite. ive not found any that feel similar
I watched "The Expance" reference and yup - truly uber cool, Peter. I remember my 1st year in college, exchanging watching Star Trek instead of studying. What a struggle that was!? And I always, for some reason, had to have a large glass of chocolate milk whilst watching. True comfort memories. ~❤~
Thanks again Peter. Very enjoyable drawing and ramblings.
JUMPED RIGHT OVER TO YOUR WEBSITE........to late.
i love these pens so much dude
can we get another “drawling your feelings”?
You could replace the ink tube inside to keep the yellow pen anew
In the words of loyd Christmas,I LIKE IT A LOT
These shows about the future are making me kinda dread it with stuff like the see-through phones and computers, I just don't see how it's appealing in anyway yet it seems to be in so much past and current sci-fi (your explanation about the filming makes a lot of sense though.)
I just feel like we've gone from shows where the technology is a fun idea that would be welcome irl (e.g. Back to the Future), to current shows where I dread being in a world with see-through computers and voice controlled cars. Maybe it's because we're at a time when we're realising that technology that sounds cool doesn't necessarily mean it's good or useful (AI art, unreliable smart speakers, the MetaVerse etc etc.)
Great intro! ❤
..the blocky bits in the middle - are they cheeses?
Haha, yeah I think so
Those pens are from the dollar tree when they have them they are good they don't always have them but dollar general has similar pens which are a little better
Really nice Peter…. Are these pens water proof or water soluble?
Hullo Peter, Well first I want to say, PLEASE put more of your art into your online shop! I have a couple of your books from Amazon and I can enjoy them anytime I wish! Yet, I am not going to cut one out just to keep it out in the open so I can see it everyday as I go about my life. I would love to have an original artwork by you for my home. I am sure you have reams of single sheet drawings tucked away from view and they might enjoy a place to be seen everyday by an appreciative person. I have had a similar experience with book series on more than one occasion! My first quandary was The Dragonriders of Pern! The original author decided to create prequel books even short stories the are taking place in between her novels! The she allowed her son to write stories about characters in her world, even letting him use notes she made for stories she no longer had a burning desire to complete. Ahh this is not an isolated problem with just TV shows and adapting books into different mediums like movies and TV shows! I have visited your website and you have mostly sold out of your “affordable products” drawings or paintings it would be sweet if your fans might be able to afford to own a piece of art by Peter Draws(Deligdisch). Well here’s hoping! I do want to say right here you can charge whatever price you want to charge. I know that we often do not value our artistic expressions enough! This being said I am truly desirous to own an original artwork by you, I just don’t have the funds for most of the items that you have listed for sale on your website. There is NO REASON why you should lower prices for anyone. I am just complaining that I don’t have enough money to buy them. I guess that I did not charge enough for my artwork when I was actively selling or working for a “living” I do believe that you can get your asking prices if your willing to wait for a collector who has the money and wants them. I believe that there is a market for your drawings that are simply languishing away in the dark of your attic or the bottom of a drawer. I am wishing you only the very best Peter.
Please take care and enjoy yourself!
Thank you! I know a lot of the drawings I posted are expensive, but I will try to keep adding more, including some cheaper ones.
nobody tell him how many warhammer books there are. 🤫
Obscure
Ps. If I find the yellow ones I will send you some!
Why/how did I forget about you. I think it’s TH-cam’s fault
You can tell a lot about a man by how he opens his packages.
On the subject of "The Expanse"'s interiors, I wonder, as someone not familiar with the show: does it detract from the show's believability? Like, you see the cheap set and go "That doesn't work with the show at all." or you can get past that and even see nostalgic value in it?
For example, one of my childhood shows was a scifi french canadian series called "Dans une galaxie près de chez vous" (french for "In a Galaxy near you") which had this cheap looking esthetic which was a defining stylistic choice for the show (and due to low budget), but also thematicly fits (the ship was built by the company of the father of one of the main characters and it was notorious for cutting every corner to the limit of legality).
I'm way too invested in the story and characters. I never noticed. The character development is really good. I'm a huge fan of the show, though, so you may disagree.
Sorry me again. They have pink, purple, and blue ink ones!
Peter you are so freaking cool
Halo everyone
hi
Dang it seems The Expanse is not streaming (anymore)...
It’s still on Amazon Prime video for me, could be a region thing though
@@peter_draws Well there it is on my tv, even though not on my laptop. I'm checking it out.
EARLY❤
Growing up you were my favorite artist and you inspired me more than anyone. I started an Instagram and I would tag you in my posts hoping you would see them. I was really disappointed to find out that you blocked me. I’m not going to lie I lost a lot of respect for you. You really lost a follower who has admired you since 2012. ✌️ out.
Regardless of if he is your inspiration, he doesn’t owe you anything. If you were constantly tagging him in social media posts that had nothing to do with him and trying to get his attention, blocking seems like an understandable response.
How would you feel if someone kept tagging you nonstop?
You took it too far @bullwinklemoose4969 . Too far.
@@nathanwashington9784really? You wouldn’t write to the person first and say please stop tagging me? If the person doesn’t after that warning I understand blocking, but that didn’t happen. Also is getting tagged in things that big of a deal?
@@bullwinklemoose4969 have a look at the likes on both our comments, seems pretty clear where other people stand on this. If you’re annoying an online creator on social media they have no obligation or responsibility to inform you of that before taking action, if you’re tagging them in stuff that they are not in or have any involvement with just to try and get their attention then that’s an issue on your end not theirs. Hope you take this chance to self reflect about your relationships with content creators online bc this all comes off extremely parasocial and entitled of you.
13:25 sounds very interesting out of context
2:17 Subscribed after watching the knife skills...😮😐
peter you dont know me, do you want to roll the dice?. im a no name artist. so clearly your art has way way more "$$$ value" but if you want i will trade you one drawing for a piece of art. i will put my heart a soul into it. you can either be surprised or pick a prompt. yes to everyone else, i know who wins in this trade chill im shooting my shot lol
Beautiful picture of your head. Nice touch.
Best intro I've seen on TH-cam to date. I love it too much I fear.
So annoyed I missed the print sale.
Dude my favorite sound I think in the expanse is the explosion where the rail gun hits an incoming ship and it explodes/implodes with a KA-BRONNNNGGGGG and a blue flash that's my over and over scene
th-cam.com/video/7wFt319UB2o/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared about 2:30 in
Love your art Peter, keep it up looks good.
I love The Expanse, it may be my favourite show. Season one and two are particularly good. I've rewatched it a few times and there is some really clever foreshadowing when you know what is coming. I loved the scifi-noir element. The world-building is awesome and I like the battle scenes too. Have you played Starfield? It had some similarities I thought. I haven't read The Expanse books but I've absorbed most of the wiki.
I'd love to see your take on set design for scifi stories.
I was looking at some vintage books yesterday - technical electrical books from early 1900s. The diagrams reminded me of your art. There were some cool colour plates with liftable elements to see layers of circuits and mechanisms.
Yeah I played starfield, I agree, there are a lot of cool similarities. And those books you found sound really cool! I love that kind of thing
That unboxing lol
Here comes the sun
What Is the white tool/ utensil you use so you don’t touch the the page while you draw?
It’s called a bone folder
@@peter_draws thanks dude I appreciate it!
Such a masterly samuraï unboxing instantly reminded me of "the Gift" by the Velvet Underground
