This is not going to replace my Focusrite Clarets... Preamps alone are worth the extra scratch, not to mention how solid their converters are. About the only interface that would tempt me is something out of the RME universe, but now we're talking twice the price. Great breakdown, moin. 👍
I upgraded from an older focusrite 2i2 to a ES2 and as a simple at home interface for demoing guitar stuff for my band it’s been great and I no longer have cpu spikes and drop outs like I had with the focusrite. I know there’s mixed reviews with presonus stuff, but I’ve had no issues and think it’s great for what I use it for.
The Presonus StudioLive 16 mk3 is the centerpiece of my studio and among the best purchases I have ever made. It's no longer the sexy new thang that it was when it was first released but it still sounds great and is still a joy to use. That said, the minute that Presonus comes with an updated version, I'll be giving it a long, envious look. Also, Studio One is an absolutely K-I-L-L-E-R DAW - and I have used ALL of them since the early 90's.
With Blackstar's Polar 2 sitting at $199 as well, I'd say you're on to something with the statement you made about the interface market, roughly 7 mins in.
The Blackstar is a better audio interface for guitarists if you don't already have something like a Helix. It has a proper guitar fet input and that just makes it sound better than the normal hi-z you get on most desktop interfaces. On top of that, it comes with their St James amp plugin which is really quite good.
In these small desktop interfaces there is one feature I’m looking for nowadays. I would like to have one that has a reamp out built in. As far as I know there’s only one. The antelope audio zen tour. Anyone know of others that have built in reamp outs and a big knob on a desktop interface?
The Quantum HD 2 has two reamp outputs on the front just like the HD 8 and isn't much bigger than Quantum in this video. I wish it had a hotter/adjustable output on the reamp channels, but it's pretty comparable to my old interface with my passive RADIAL box.
@ I’m actually looking at getting a passive radial box this week. Should I? Any reason I should consider something else? I’m working on a poor man budget here.
From what I've heard, Presonus has a bad reputation when it comes to driver stability, reliability, and drive longevity with updates. Maybe they finally figured it out. Personally, I stay clear of anything Presonus. In that price range, I would go with a SSL 2.
Presonus gear has been outstanding in my experience. Have used StudioLive 16 mk3 every day for over 5 years and it runs tighter than the freakin' Deutche Bahn.
@@mikekakonikolas7407 I work for a music software company and we have a small Presonus graveyard of stuff that just stopped working also some with software that is no longer supported. I don't know about the current stuff to be honest, but I personally wouldn't buy anything from them when they're are so many great options out there. But if it works for you, more power to you.

Wow someone actually uses the loop back function? I always wondered what it was for
As good as it is: to my understanding Audient did all that with the EVO Series already. Using the Audient EVO 16 myself 🤗
I'm still using thee Presonous Firestudio Project for gaming and laying down guitar and drum tracks in Studio One 6
@@KeikoFXDesigns if it works, don't fix it 🫡
I have the ES4 .. wish I understood Loopback a little better.

We don't need no stinkin' dsp! I'm going this route in my commercial studio. It's less than half the price of the UAD stuff with dsp.
Thought that was a PS2 slim in the thumbnail at first glance
That might be the move to make, ditch recording and get a ps2 slim 💪😂
I’m in the market for an audio interface and this is ticking a lot of my boxes.

@@SenseiKreese I've been tempted by one of those. Does the fet input really make that much of a difference? Using a UMC404HD atm.
you forgot to mention that the Presonus Quantum range are the only audio interfaces that sound very good and actually look proper metal \m/ !!!!
Nice shirt
2 interfaces only one PC? And no Gopi, uh?! Namastè.

IK multimedia Axe I/O has reamp built in
Audient Sono is worth a look
Awesome thanks

No problems at all with my Presonus Studio 1824c and Windows 11.

Hee, windows guys. Drivers have been a thing of the past for over ten years for Mac users.
No thank you. Presonus is an awful company. Just go ask Keith Merrow .
@@balmain2496 he’s actually they one that turned me on to these interfaces. Like personally, not through TH-cam, soooo 🤷♂️

I thought Merrow uses Studio One, exclusively?
This is the first time hearing of anything like this, what's your source?
