Grimly descriptive. What loneliness drives us to do. Great narrative. Thank you, Mr. French.

This is like Blackwood¨'s best: a description of surrounding nature, of impressions of night and water. So beautiful a framing to The Uncanny.

This is my favorite of your recordings. A perfect match of your voice and of the words. Thank you.

Thanks @kristinhelberg3505. I listened to a bit of it just now- rather florid writing that lends itself to reading aloud. Dreamy. I appreciate your comment. E.E.F.

@@FrenchEdward06 You are an incredible voice artist and your understanding of the story is obvious. . I find that the most frightening stories are the ones that are quiet. Thank you again.

I think this story was an episode of night gallery season 3. 1972. Lesley Ann Warren was the girl.

"...I felt the warm breath from its nostrils..."
    Vampires don't breath. 😂

God! I read this story when in my teens! Had a profound effect on me! Yes, dear reader, I married a vampire!

The theme and narrative feel familiar, but this is a new story to the Fiction Fantastique Channel. E.E.F.
