Man, that was a rough match up to begin. Honestly I'm happy Andy didn't viciously got knocked out, he's 38 in a tournament and devision full of killers in their prime.
Marat is not only a good fighter, he is a humble and educated guy. The first thing is having respect for your opponent.
Yup - zero ego. Even when he wins he celebrates in moderation.

Manson Gibson, Joe Lewis, Benny Urquidez, Dale Cook, Don Wilson, Rick Roufus and Elvis Gashi.
In Muay Thai there's Dave Kvalheim, Kevin Ross, Ognjen Topic and Joe Schilling.

he is like georgeo petrosyan,the both well discipline athlet.
Was hard to see souwer get knocked down so early and from that point you could see it was over. Souwer is still sharp as hell though fair play to him and i hope he keeps up training and has a happy and healthy retirement!

This match was not even fair to be honest. Andy Souwer was way past his prime at this point and shouldn’t be going against a top 5 fighter. It’s just pure torture to watch and hard for him i am sure. But regardless, congratulations on having an exceptional career Andy!

Second, another Thai guy vs sok thy (khmer fighter). The Khmer got robbed
And they always want to host a one-ufc mega event. The only good thing of one is sportsmanship but also biased tendency to any favorite athletes at the same time whereas ufc is trashtalk but their stadium thrilling vibe, warrior spirit and entertainment is all there

Even though Dana White too has his favourite fighters like Jon Jones, Rousey and McGregor, he cant influence fight results coz in US the referees and judges are under independent national bodies. That s why he often bitches about results lol. Big difference in Asia as the event VIP can easily influence judges and referees as their salaries are paid by event organisers. As far as i know ONE FC has the same structure

In his K-1 days, souwer didn't have too much power really; Albert Kraus his mentor, was the stronger of The two; but he was such a technician, that he could just take opponents apart and did it with volume; beautiful to watch. The difference in this match was not much, except he couldn't absorb punches like he could when he was younger. He really shouldn't have been banging with the likes of Grigorian now. But really, 8-10 years back, this would have been a legendary matchup.

Respect. It’s clear he’s energy or explosiveness faded slightly. But he was fighting someone much bigger and stronger. Not the best way to retired. He’s just a legend. Thank you Andy!

サワー思ったよりキレあったけど、顔面へのパンチに偏り過ぎてて昔みたいにクレバーじゃなかった。
グレゴリアンガード固いし頑丈だから下がりながらだと全然効かない。
スーパーボンみたいに距離取って蹴りでポイントアウトする位の勝ち方しか浮かばないな。
この38のサワーが今の40のブアカーオよりちょっと強い位だから、今の立ち技での世界と日本のレベルの差がよくわかる。
グレゴリアンとアラゾフに子供扱いされたピケオーにまだ野杁も和島も勝ててない。
ONEの日本大会には海人も合わせて出るだろうからどれだけアピール出来るか。
当時のk-1 maxのレベルって桁違いだったんだろな。

no muay thai art. it's gone. Marat only uses punches n low kicks. and his kicks can be counted. Lol.. His knees n elbows may be plastic. 😼so, his not a Muay Thai fighter. follow the way of Thai fighters,. most of them retain the art of Muay Thai. Not just focusing on punches. they use kness elbows,high kicks.all works evry attack.
