Ok, speaking from the heart here, (and I'm just on my second video).....not boring. I appreciate that you stage your videos....#1 every one should use the "pink tape", to help stay in frame.....and #2, thanks for having dried pieces which are ready for you to jump right into the next step. And once again I am torn between running to the workroom to start my own....especially the 4 card side by side folding booklet.....and watching more of your videos. Yes, I am a TH-cam junkie....Thanks to fine artist like you. LOL.....life is grand !! TFS
Tracie, I searched and searched how to make these - not many out there that use reliable methods (like sanding the cards). I am so glad you made this video! You are concise, & easy to understand! Thanks again 🙂
I decided to go way back and watch an older video. Just as good as the new ones! Love all the cards sewn together. I think you need to bring that back into your current work!
Tracie, I’ve been watching your videos for about two years now and just stumbled upon this one today. I’m so happy and grateful that you stuck with doing these videos. Watching you is never boring! You are so very talented and generous.
I've always thought, the thumbs down people are just revealing themselves....I am sitting here, watching EVERY video, loving EVERY video, and cutting my books carefully apart and learning to do this fabulous new art every day! I go out to a thrift shop, or an art shop, with new eyes, looking for possibles....If you make the videos shorter , I would have much less company while I'm learning! I run them over and over all day! Thank you for helping me! I have some ideas of my own, but ONLY after watching YOUR ideas! There are a couple of techniques I would like you to show, but I don't yet have the knowledge on how to ask for them yet!
Thank you for NOT grunging up the card with purple flower. I watch a LOT of junk journal videos but i actually only scrapbook (so far) and don’t age with ink. I’ve seen edges inked that make edges stand out and i may try that. Thanks for all you create…all awesome!
Omg. The trick of using tape to rip off the underside is brilliant. One of those "why can't I ever think of that" moments!! Thanks for a great tutorial!!
I have to tell you, I am an artist and I’m in my 50’s. I just moved to a big city (think mini NYC) and am trying to establish myself as an artist here. I am normally a painter and collage artist, I’ve already had a show in November, but I’ve been looking for a new art form to make my old art form even more meaningful and attractive and I’ve found that watching your techniques has really helped me. I can’t wait to show my new work in May when I have my spring art show. I only watch you and two other you tubers. Thanks so much!
Tracie, thank you for making this tutorial. I know that it takes a lot of preparation and time. I so appreciate everyone who makes tutorials. For me TH-cam is like a school as there is so much to learn and we never stop learning. I didn't know anything about creating these cards, so your tutorial taught me how to do that. I can understand how nerve-wracking doing tutorials is in front of a camera. But your tutorial broke down all the steps and was easy to follow. You have a lovely voice and I hope you'll become more comfortable in front of a camera. Maybe if you think that you're with a group of friends hanging out and crafting together it will make you more comfortable. There are many colors of Stazon ink. It's a shame that you folks in the UK don't have access to more crafting supplies. Thanks again, Tracie, for this easy to understand tutorial. You are so very talented and you know how much I love your artful creations.
Kateri, again you are so very kind and it it so humbling to hear that you have learnt from me. I really appreciate your comment and time to watch the tutorial. Anything you would like to see, let me know xx
I collect cards from the casinos we have visited in Vegas. (I think I have a set from EVERY Casio, I love to gamble!). Now you can buy them at the Dollar Tree in the states. I do have vintage cards that I will keep because they are from casinos no longer around. I love altering these cards. Yours are beautiful! I have a ton of ephemera that I have been collected for years not knowing what I was going to do with it. Now I will be making a Vegas (gambling) journal just to be able to keep it all in one place. I also collected cocktail napkins from the casinos as well. I have some awesome ideas for those.
Love your work! :) I don’t understand why people do thumbs down. I have a TH-cam channel and I just don’t get it. Just click the next video.. why do a thumbs down? Thanks for your creative mind!
Thumbs down is often used to prevent a constant thred from the same channel. Not at all a negative connotation to the artist, but to prevent TH-cam from inundating them.
I've been using sewing pattern paper to cover garment swing tags, then adding ribbon, lace, and fabric roses as embellishments, to insert into the sewing journal I'm making. It's taking forever and I'm starting to get twitchy for my next project. I like the concertina booklet, which I may 'borrow' to mix it up a bit. Thanks for making your tutorials - I'm learning so much from watching you :)
I don't know why you are so nervous...Keep sharing what you love to do! Can't wait to pull out some more cards...and pattern tissue. Love the idea of stitching together the cards!
I enjoy your videos and so glad you didn't give up. You may know this but alcohol ink works great on metal. If you have the wrong color of findings, paper clips. even staples just change the color with alcohol ink.
Great pieces. Staining the edges at the end gives you another layer that you wouldn't have if you cut then stained everything. I love the look. Creative Blessings!
Never bored with your videos. In fact this is the 2nd go round for me with this video. I really like your videos. Don't be so hard on yourself.Never apologize for sharing what you do. The general consensus is that you make great tutorial/share/create with me etc videos.
Thank you so much Tracie, I really really love 💕 those altered playing cards..... I really really love 💕 the ones you’ve that you made into a concertina, very very cute.....and your videos are NOT boring EVER. We all love 💕 and love 💕 watching you.....Stay safe and well Tracie xxx Mags
I know I'm viewing this rather late, but just found you video. Tracie ... I LIKE your video!! Very down to earth and straight forward or as I am known to say, "No bunny fluff". I hope to watch more of your work. Well done!!
I am having so much fun watching your tutorials and making things. This has been a really bad week and you have brightened it so much for me. Thanks for sharing your talent.
😌 please don't put.yourself down. You are doing very well. I recently watched your video on putting signatures together in a journal with a hidden spine and it was the best.I've seen. 👏🏻♥️
Tracey, you are such a talented lady! And to take the time to share how you make pieces for the junk journal is so selfless of you. I really appreciate all you do to inspire me into making a junk journal. Never a wast of time...lol.... ( when I say "me" I can probably say "we" as an viewers). Have a fabulous day!
Thank you so much Yvonne, it makes the stress worth it when I get lovely comments like yours. Hope you continued to be inspired by others, I do not see the point of hiding anything, everyone has their own spin on things and its great that no two journals are ever the same xxx
Ah liz that is so kind of you. I have to be calm, and on occasions I have to be over the top as I am a teacher and I teach SEND. Maybe thats why but I tell you getting in front of one of my classes is easier that doing it in front of a camera lol. xx
absolutely stunning! defintely not going to hesitate about buying playing cards for a few cents at the op shop anymore! totally inspired me, thank you! with love from New Zealand :-)
I certainly hope you have continued making tutorials I'm only just getting into journals and I need all the help I can get. Lol. I think you did a great job. Thanks

What a good idea. I love your creativity. I love the peacock and how you use the left over tissue papers. I gave so many decks of cards that are missing cards or regular decks that my friends have used to make pinochle decks l
By the way, you did a great job with ur tutorial and I love seeing the different ways crafters do the same things! Keep on doing these, I'll be looking forward to watching all ur videos!! 👏🙂
That was so helpful Tracie. Just watched the vellum tutorial as well which was equally great. You are clearly a very talented lady. Thank you very much.
I am going to try to find some delicate flowers for my very 1st book I am making. For my 1st grandchild, a little girl due in August. Then let my daughter decide if she'd like to journal on one side or add photos. So beautiful and you make these look so easy for a beginner too. Thanks as always
Also brilliant! love how lush they look with great treatment. I have a 'thang' for cards, & they make such great altered tags. You're doing so well with these tutorials, much appreciated!
Hi ya. Been watching ur channel for ages and so funny that this one popped up to watch right now.... Even at your second video you were great !!! And here you are now how many videos later even more fantastic.... really enjoy watching your videos and glad that you didnt stop .... Hugs from the land of Oz
Same! I wanted to work in the post office too, but I wanted to put my finger on the sponge in the small plastic lid thing and then shuffle through papers, when I was working years later in finance department, I purchased one and really felt I was living my little girl dream. My heart patteredwhen you said that. Yes I have several smaller ink pads of Stazon, really great colours, I love them, they have amazing names, I got them here in New Zealand, thanks for these ATC ideas I am really enjoying this vid vrty inspiring thanks!
Hi Tracie Thank you so much for sharing your artistic talents with us. I enjoyed your video so much. You are brilliant and such a good teacher! I understand how you feel about doing videos. I like you have extreme stage fright. Please don’t let that stop you from sharing you talent and inspiration. 👏🏼
I love your teaching style. You have a wonderful personality, which makes it easy to binge-watch your videos. I am new to crafting, and your videos remove some of the intimidation. Thank you so very much for all of the time & effort you put into your tutorials. And, thanks for being genuinely you! 💝
Traci...you did a great job ! Love your playing cards .. really different which is what I like!!! Your double sided booklet is fabulous!!! Never have seen one before now , so TFS !! More please!
Hi not boring, very informative. I was gifted a couple of playing cards last year and thought how on earth do cover them artistically? Now I can go ahead thank you for the tutorial.
I am so glad you didnt give up !! Ignore the haters. You have way more people that appreciate all your efforts. You make it so easy to.follow you. Thank you sooo much !!!
This video popped up after watching Michele. You so should watch your first few tutorials Trace, they are brilliant. I wanted to work in a post office or library to do the stamping too. Remember my post office kit lol xxxx
Miss Tracie Fox!!!! I love your tutorials!! I have been binge watching all you videos- making notes and saving to my playlist!! Excellent, real and honest presentation- great to learn from! I can’t wait to watch more! ♥️😊 Thank you for inspiring me!! You are fantastic.... I’ve subscribed as I don’t want to miss the new ones! Blessings!!!! 💕
Thank you for the tutorial. I enjoyed your version of the altered playing card! Thank you so much. I think sanding the playing cards is the step I am missing, also air drying. Will have to give it another go.
Ah Andrea, you are so kind. Thank you so much for your lovely words. Would love to help out and do whenever I can. Contact me if there is anything you would like me to do xx
Tracie you're so sweet. Thank you for offering. I'm so lost doing this but I'm hoping to get better at it. I have a lot of health issues and we have one income so no money yet to buy all the cool stuff I see everyone working with. I do have all kinds of different things I've collected so that is a start. I can't wait to finish the junk journal I'm doing. Lol, it may look like a child did it but I'm really liking it. I love watching you. Michele and a couple others. I would love for you to do more tutorials, you are really good ♥️
Ah Andrea, You really don't need money to make beautiful journals. xx I am looking forward to seeing what you create. Try pressing leaves, flowers, thats free! Also, use fabric , laces and trim from old clothes. Cut button's off things. When you were a kid did you make rubbings? Thats cool too, you can use all sorts of things and pencils. I am not sure what type of journal you are making but always lots of great cheap ideas. Have you watched Brenda G's Designs? Awesome ideas with paper. xx
Great tutorial I really enjoyed watching this video, btw I work in a stationery, arts and crafts warehouse and I actually pick the inks and we sell loads of colours in stazon ink and versafine x
I love watching you and I love everything that you do! I love the way you altered you playing cards. Mine never turnes out like that. I guess I need to practice more. Tyfs!
I wanted to work in the post office too. Our post office was an old Victorian building with wooden counters faced with leather. It smelt amazing. And those stamping noises used to echo around the main room. I wanted to work there so badly. By the time I was an adult, of course, it’d moved to a new building... tossers. 😂
Tracie, that’s so awesome and beautiful and stunning and fantastic........ I really love 💕 the four you have stitched into a little book.... so beautiful. Please don’t give up, you’re not boring and we all enjoy you’re tutorials very much indeed ♥️♥️♥️Mags
I enjoyed this tutorial as well. I like the technique and it's easy to see that you were well prepared before you started filming. I like your teaching style.
I really learned a lot from this tutorial. Never would have thought about using sewing pattern paper. tfs I hope you keep doing the tuts. God bless & hugs
Hi Tracie, funny story, I'm watching all your videos and today while watching one, I thought, I wonder if she does one on how to embellish playing cards ( I have regular size one, giant ones, miniature ones and never know what to do with them)....well a few videos later this pops up...thank you
You are anything but boring. Like Lisa said before me, I appreciate how you have everything planned out and ready to go. The pink tape is brilliant. You have a lot of fans and a lot of respect in the community. Thank you for sharing with us.
wonderful tutorial 🖒 i don't know why you are so nervous.. you are wonderful 😍 guess what i did learn something!! grabbing coffee and going to watch your vellum tutorial ☕ thank you again and keep on sharing your beautiful talent!! love you girl xx
Brilliant tutorial. You wouldn't of known you were shaking at all your voice was so very calm too. It will get easier I couldn't even speak when I started still struggle a bit lol X. I have the same problem with concentration always have a few projects on the go. Xx
So cute!! I wish I could come up with some original ideas too so don't feel bad, yours is different than others' and you always have some great ideas I have used! Its all about sharing anyway, everyone has their own twist, otherwise we all wouldn't be here you are just as valuable as anyone else!! Thanks for giving your time and love for creating and fellowship with other crafters!
Hey, crafty fox, new subscriber here, but long time watcher. Have enjoyed many of your videos and just wanted to come aboard to say thank you. I especially like the way you always bring something new and inspiring and it sure gets our motivation rolling. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You are so silly. "Find someone more interesting to watch". Are you kidding? You are so real and refreshing.
Ok, speaking from the heart here, (and I'm just on my second video).....not boring. Yes, the pink square to stay in frame is a brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much but it was not my idea, like I said. I felt the same way when I first found it! lol Glad yougot something out of it though xx
Thank you for sharing great toutoral
I have to tell you, I am an artist and I’m in my 50’s. I just moved to a big city (think mini NYC) and am trying to establish myself as an artist here. I am normally a painter and collage artist, I’ve already had a show in November, but I’ve been looking for a new art form to make my old art form even more meaningful and attractive and I’ve found that watching your techniques has really helped me. I can’t wait to show my new work in May when I have my spring art show. I only watch you and two other you tubers. Thanks so much!
WOW good luck with your new home and the show in May xxx
Not boring, so relaxing to watch you work. I enjoyed your process. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to start making these.
Such a great idea, I was also thinking using teabags to cover would look nice too TFS
Hugs and Smiles

Love your work! :) I don’t understand why people do thumbs down. I have a TH-cam channel and I just don’t get it. Just click the next video.. why do a thumbs down? Thanks for your creative mind!
Cara Brandon The thumbs down people are not happy in their life so they want to spread misery..
Cara Brandon some people get a charge raining on someone else’s parade. Just ignore their negativity.
Thumbs down is often used to prevent a constant thred from the same channel. Not at all a negative connotation to the artist, but to prevent TH-cam from inundating them.
Great tutorial! No need to be nervous or think you’re boring! I think the stamping looks great!
I've been using sewing pattern paper to cover garment swing tags, then adding ribbon, lace, and fabric roses as embellishments, to insert into the sewing journal I'm making. Very useful tutorial--no need to be nervous!
Thank you for the tutorial. I enjoyed your version of the altered playing card! Thank you so much. I think sanding the playing cards is the step I am missing, also air drying. Will have to give it another go.
You do need to do more tutorials! Your so quick! Lol , I'm just getting started in this and WOW! You're great 😀
Ah Andrea, you are so kind.
Awesome ideas with paper. xx

No problem. May have a new one soon ;-) Let me know if there is anything you would like to see xxx
I wanted to work in the post office too. Our post office was an old Victorian building with wooden counters faced with leather. It smelt amazing. And those stamping noises used to echo around the main room. I wanted to work there so badly. By the time I was an adult, of course, it’d moved to a new building... tossers. 😂
LOL xx
