The weirdest part is he'd probably take the revelation in stride and even admit that, on just that one point, that he was wrong about the Saiyans. I love his character development, even if he is a little overused, its so cool that he's evolving as a villain. I just hope the writers keep to that theme and don't just suddenly have him undergo some regression back to his old Namek Saga personality and mindset out of the blue, that'd be such a waste. Hell I could even see him being semi-graceful in defeat as Vegeta or Beerus erase him, like he'd be pissed that he ultimately failed, but also just accept his final failure with some dignity and even a smile; that'd be such a badass way for him to go out, no tricks, no excuses, just acceptance.

@@purgeblue I think because there’s a slight difference. In the Namek arc he was the uncontested authority in the galaxy bar none, who had never faced serious adversity and that underneath his professional, cold exterior was a bit of a brat who never, ever had to try. So it would make sense, having been humbled so many times that he would mature and make peace with having to be more earnest. E.g. after the Broly movie, there was no denial or reckless self-endangerment; he just conceded defeat and left quietly. Something that he was previously incapable of doing
In short, Frieza behaves like the mature ruler he had portrayed himself more genuinely, mainly because he has actual peers to hold him accountable for his actions. In a sense, having to work for his goals made him emotionally stronger.
Edit: some grammar corrections. Just generally, as much as I didn't like Rez F, it did establish Frieza gradually becoming an interesting character.

I was really disappointed when he replaced Buu in the top but he ended up being my favorite character in that arc, whenever he was on screen he stole the show and since then I get excited whenever he pops up. • @RedMageGaming

The scariest part is of Frieza's maturation, is he didn't just get smarter in how he handles things; he's gotten a taste of accomplishment that can only be derived through actual hard work and effort. And he liked it, he enjoys the boon of his efforts, and as he hints in the manga before dipping off, he has more important things to take care of than Goku and Vegeta right now. Whis hinting that there is potentially another strongest in the universe as well as Frieza stating there is nothing in the universe he doesn't know about, while that may be boasting to some extent beyond his actual knowledge, I think he has matured to a point where he is less likely to boast far beyond his capabilities as he did before and during the tournament of power. Having seen the growth of Goku and Vegeta, and experienced his own growth, I think he is much more in touch with his capabilities than he was before.
Whatever the next arc brings, I don't think Frieza is going to be the big bad of the events, not that he is going to be a good guy, but I think he's reached a point where he is important enough to the ongoing story, he will continue to be a continued threat, but not the direct villain of concern. He's basically given Goku and Vegeta a push towards needing to train and get stronger again. It's an interesting notion but Frieza in his ten years of training in the room of spirit and time that he found, he may have reached a point he couldn't cross, a plateau, and he could be expecting Goku and Vegeta to grow to give himself another push past his limits as well.
I could be looking too deep into it all but, it's fun to theorize, while they take a break and prepare for the next arc.

Not gonna lie, I absolutely love what they've done with Frieza at this point. The parallels feel very natural, but funnily enough, he is now in a pretty similar position to where Vegeta was in the Cell Saga - the "I don't like you but because I don't like you you motivate me to be better than you" phase. He even said as much in the ToP, but to see it actually come to fruition is really cool. And the fact that this is largely a function of simply him becoming more mature, the fact that he just grew up and stopped being childish about everything, that he put his pride away, is the cherry on top.
I don't want this Frieza to ultimately "turn good," because having an antagonistic parallel to Vegeta, and especially _because_ he parallels Vegeta in particular so well, is really interesting. It's a bit strange to think, though, that this stalemate might just go on because all three characters are so popular, I don't want that, but I also don't want to lose this power-balance.
Solid discussion video, gives some good food for thought!

The way Frieza comes out with his new transformations, it almost feels as if he (and possibly his race) can choose their new forms. If not choose, at least guide. Additionally, his means of acquiring transformations seems to run counter to Goku and most other Saiyans - While Goku (usually) acquires new power because he needs to in order to win, Frieza has to dedicate sheer effort and training alone to acquire new power. It's happened with his last two forms now.

He never had someone more powerful then him, and if all it took was a flick of a finger to destroy a planet, why need to get stronger? I must say that, after his disappointing return in Resurrection F, I think that Frieza's development is one of the thing that modern DB did best.
I disagree with those that claim that he is following the usual "face turn" that we have consistently been seeing throughout all of DB, as Frieza has not become a good or well intentioned guy by any means, he has simply evolved his evil ways. Which makes sense, given all his experiences from the Namek saga onwards: his arrogance and entitlement has led him to defeat too many times not to learn from that, and he understood that he needs to work hard and not be rash if he wants to remain the top dog in the universe, which is something that his position as galactic emperors somewhat requires.

The big question is, is this going to mean that freeza takes on a kind of anti-villain role at some point in the future?

I like this idea. He’s evil but also is political. He runs an empire, wants things, and can be bargained with

I can't wait for Black Gold Frieza. It'd be pretty cool to see.

I legitimately thought Black Frieza was a reference to black gold, since in terms of "rank", black gold is a higher ranking than gold

@@marksamson4173 Well, we may get the see that in canon then if that's the case.

You know.... back in middle school when the Android / Cell Saga was coming out on Toonami I made up my own super saiyan transformation I called it Super Saiyan Black where the aura around the saiyan was black the hair was white and the eye color was dark red, Goku found this transformation while training for Cell in the time chamber with Gohan.... I even took one of my DBZ Coloring books and traced battle damaged Super Saiyan Goku from Namek and colored it with the idea of the Super Saiyan black. I also made up a story about a female Saiyan some how being off planet when frieza blew up Planet Vegeta and they went to earth trying to take it over but Vegeta stopped her from taking over his new home planet... man I haven't thought about these 2 storylines in years but I'm glad to share the ideas with you Masako 😊 well I hope you enjoyed my ramblings

I haven't read Super since the Moro arc ended and this showed up in my feed.
Just binged through the whole last arc and man was it worth it. Black Frieza is so cool
