Pinokio has been epic for those of us on the Mac side of the fence! A lot of these tools are a real pain to get up and running on OSX, so a big thanks to Cocktail Peanut and the Pinokio crew!
Oh yeah, Pinokio is a game-changer for Mac users! With all the AI tools out there, it can be really frustrating to try to get them to run on a Mac. But Pinokio makes it so easy, just a single click and you're good to go! It's awesome that Cocktail Peanut and the Pinokio team have made AI more accessible to Mac users. It's like a little magic wand for your computer! 😂
There’s Diffusion Bee which runs on MacOS only. If you want to try it out, then please make sure that you’re downloading the preview version as well as it offers a comfortable UI.
This is actually amazing. Instead of having to figure out exactly how to install different stuff and what version of what you need this actually just does everything for you. Very nice!
@@chrisharris1521 you must be using windows. first time setup of conda if you have any version sucks. so remove everything python related and let it install python for you. after that as you have conda it will not matter what version do you upgrade anywhere else
Thank you so much Matt for having a video on this. It's changed my whole AI game. I used to have AI apps installed everywhere and taking up all the space on my C drive and this fixed all of that. This might be the best tool for AI I have found yet.
This is exactly what I've been waiting for. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention. 3:21 The error seems to be that you created the folder instead of allowing Pinokio to. I did the same on my M drive. Once I deleted the folder and let the installer make it, I restarted Pinokio and it worked fine. I don't know if the actual LLMs will install there, but will update this post when I find out. Also, looks like cocktail peanut has already fixed bark, but on Twitter announced that they expect other things to break (due to a dependencies not having a version descriptions that just got a new version).

DUDE!!!! this is the most aweseome tutorial since I learned about AI. Exactly the same reason you like it, the install on many git hub tools really slows me down from testing them. When I saw what you were getting at with pinokio... it was just WOW super awesome... can't wait to play with all the new toys!!!

Really cool sounding tool, but I think your initial concerns about using it were right. There are 2 big problems with it imo. The first is the security, though open source and likely safe on it's own (I haven't combed through everything), each tool it installs are pulled from forks of the original projects for compatibility reasons. This does make sense, but opens up a can of worms, you are allowing Pinokio to download, install, and update from these repositories that have less eyes on them then their original counter parts. So it may be trustworthy now, but you never know what might be slipped in on future updates. The other issue with this is that you won't get updates quite as quickly as if you were directly installing and managing from the original hosts. If you really want the convenience of this tool, using a Virtual Machine with GPU pass through is likely your best bet. That comes with performance losses, especially if you aren't using a baremetal vm, and will only mitigate potential malware.

Pinokio sounds awesome - BUT it won't work without an Nvidia setup. I have tried on a laptop and PC with high end AMD GPU and it's a no-go. I think people should know this before wasting time on a long install process.
@@mwarnas - Removed the first install and tried again on the AMD GPU and Pinokio worked. Yes, very slow without the CUDA set up, but still usable and free.

I like the idea of it more than the execution but it's nice they have caring team working on issues and trying to make a AI suite that can basically serve as a catch all for all sorts of good programs.

Cons: 1. It takes a lot of space since it requires many dependencies even for one task (e.g., text generation). 2. Many files downloaded are not used but they take space. 3. It does not work very well on CPU with 8gb RAM (icore5). In my case, it freezes. 4. Uninstalling pinokio does not uninstall the installed sub-programs. Thus, I have to remove them manually. Returning to copilot for this task.
Hey Matt, I cannot help but sub and like, this is so cool, the fact that it downloads the models instead of being online is superb, and to have it all in one place is great. A lot of the discord stuff seems to be so scattered in this chat room and that prompt room, its difficult to get to grips, not least because of AI sprouting up like mushrooms all over the web. Haha, I hear ya! AI tools are popping up all over the place, it's like a wild west of AI out there! But yeah, Pinokio really sets itself apart with that "all in one" approach. It's like having a personal AI assistant right on your desktop! No more endless scrolling through discord channels and struggling to keep track of everything. It's like having a digital concierge to help you navigate the AI world!
I quickly looked it over, nice to have all that, for me personally I need a lip sync to my video characters, but too much to hope for a download like that on my desk top.
I'll echo others, I also prefer the slower more thorough pace. But then again, that's how I've made videos for a couple years now. The frenetic pace of many other channels means that retention and depth is minimal.
Pinokio is like more like an app launcher (the nice thing about this and a similar one is that using symlinks it lets you have the same model file in use by multiple different apps with the same structure (So no more terabytes of duplicate models for comfyUI,auto1111 and fooocus.

Looks like this one guy's pet project, it's got all of his favourite tools all in one place. Nothing at all wrong with that, of course, and looks like he's done a smashing job putting it all together. I prefer Tortoise-TTS for voice cloning personally for instance, and it doesn't seem to address the annoying bit where all the tools run on port 7860 by default which makes running them simultaneously a bit of a pain.
I particularly enjoy his channel because he approaches his content with a high level of seriousness and experiments with strategies that prove effective. I had been contemplating trying Pinocchio for a while, and although I was initially nervous, I'm now inspired to give it a shot. Thank you for this video, and keep up the excellent work

This is massive, finally I can use AI to generate images, for whatever fkn reason i always struggle to install pytorch in all my devices and I cannot use AI due to it. This fixed my problem!
Pretty common for these things, you just need to keep trying until you get a build that works. I play some mod packs that are lucky to work half the time.
I installed it and got the main pinokio browser. Tried to download several plugins but it just opens a new window with a spinning circle and never does anything.
Nice Matt - What hardware specs do you recommend on this, so viewers don't go through the pain i did? I have been playing around with the Colab version of these tools as I don't quite have the beefy computer. I am really glad you pointed out that one should be a tiny bit sceptical about all the tools, and always be aware there might be funky code that could be malicious... Top tip... keep your AV and updates running at all times.
The one gripe I had with Pinokio is that it does not get along with some anti-virus software. Other than that it was a great tool to use, having multiple tools in one ui was awesome. However it won't take long for a more experienced user to outgrow it.
👍, ran something similar, and it was a good interface using gradio, with lots of modules using automatic, my gpu is on CPU, and it was fine. This looks even better
Matt, to save your pc from attacks, I highly reccomend you use a virtual machine for things like this, yes it's more work, but you are rightfully worried about it being a malicious program

The output doesnt show, just preview, on the facefusion, its just blank on the output part. Can anyone help? When click start, it processes something but doesnt show anywhere or where destination of finnished output. Output path cashe/Temp? Am i missing something? Haalp!
Installing now... slower than using these tools online, but obviously it's doing a lot in the background. If this works as well as it looks like in its video, then this could be an outstanding tool. The first step to making AI more accessible to those of us who want to get use out of it, but perhaps don't have the brainpower to install everything.. manually!

The sign that their website is basic and their social presence is small means that what they produce is good. Any exceptional app developer has little time to make websites and play around with X or Instagram, etc. Coding takes a heap of time if you are providing amazing features. I currently have an image on my one website and nothing on my other. Buried in code at the moment.
Yeah, one of the coolest discoveries you shared so far. 👍✌ Pinokio setting up the whole AI environment framework for a multitude of different AI applications is a better way than trying to learn from different youtube "installation gurus". 🥰 Instead of Hocus Pocus more like Focus.
Only risk as I see is that it might be hard to remove stuff installed, to free up disc space again? Because it might be a complex task that involves so many different AI applications. You download a lot of huge files that might result in not working AI applications. Perhaps Pinokio can clarify if it supports this?

The sign that their website is basic and their social presence is small means that what they produce is good. Any exceptional app developer has little time to make websites and play around with X or Instagram, etc. Coding takes a heap of time if you are providing amazing features. I currently have an image on my one website and nothing on my other. Buried in code at the moment.

Yeah, one of the coolest discoveries you shared so far. 👍✌ Pinokio setting up the whole AI environment framework for a multitude of different AI applications is a better way than trying to learn from different youtube "installation gurus". 🥰 Instead of Hocus Pocus more like Focus.
Only risk as I see is that it might be hard to remove stuff installed, to free up disc space again? Because it might be a complex task that involves so many different AI applications. You download a lot of huge files that might result in not working AI applications. Perhaps Pinokio can clarify if it supports this?
