Decide *before* setting off if I want to do a test run-in or do the feature. Then commit to that decision. I found that if I set off, thinking "I'll see if I do it or not", it's neither a good test run, nor a good commitment...
Finally a GMBN video on drops that moves away from the manual technique. Definitely your best 'how to drops' video yet. I stopped using the manual technique long ago and have been hitting bigger drops since then using this sort of technique. Geddon Anna 🤘🏻
@@letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo I suppose it´s because it comes with big risks. It is the reason Ben Cathro also advises against manualing or bunny hoping of the drop. Just pushing the bike forward off the drop keeps the collarbone much safer :))
@@LaVale- wow ok , I'm learning drops from Ryan leech's online platform and his preferred method is preloading off to a someone manual like motion off drops , and he don't quite advise on pushing off ..
@@letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo well it really depends on the drop & speed. If it's low speed you might have to do some manual but generally if you can build up a bit of momentum u just push of a drop. But this kind of stuff is always strange to explain. You find a Ton of different tutorials for bunny hoping with different techniques but they all teach the exact same thing. Just go out there and find a small and safe drop. Keep going at it until it just feels right. You'll see that in the end you will do a combination of everything you ever saw in tutorials depending on the situation. Cheers and have fun!
Find small to medium drop offs with flat ride out no problem but the higher ones with steep or tech features after tricky. Having a roll out feature really handy on big drop. Lots of great tips and a lot of stuff learned, thanks for sharing Anna and Becci! 😁🤙
Great video! I would love to see the same but with extreme slow-mo replay (or frame by frame) with commentary. While I can adjust the playback speed, it's not the same. Many, if not all, videos I've seen on jumping, pumping, and drops do not slow down enough for my liking. A series of videos with synced slow-mo side view and POV for the above techniques would be so wonderful!
Would be cool if you guys could do a video on more technical drops , like on off piste trails. I can sometimes struggle with those. Like when the run in is slow ,steep and off camber , basically landing in a huge rut. Are you suppose to just bunny hop off them ? 😂🤷♂️
Technique can sure be tricky for those! Wheel placement is key, but yes you sometimes need to creep into them. On a steeper trail, you'll pick up enough speed to drop properly surprisingly quickly :)
Awesome Anna, well done. Love the "hell yeah, nailed it" expression. How has the jumping progression been going? It's been a while since your video of trying to get your confidence back.
Need to do a video for bigger drops into switchback berms like technical drops on downhill courses video, im struggling with doing 3 drops in a row on a trail that each one drops into a switchback
Those can be tricky! You want to keep the wheels on the ground as best as possible in order to make the turn! We'll see if we can find an appropriate section of trail for demonstration
You're missing the most important thing: the key is to get low with your chest over the stem and push from there at the angle of the landing - don't push from your high position. It is ideal to land front wheel first to regain control as quickly as possible and be ready for what's coming next.
I had this same problem, thing is I pulled with my arms. The correct order is to load with your suspension with your feet and only your feet. Let the suspension rebound your bike up and this is enough for most drops at speed. And if you must then you pull up with your arms AFTER the bike rebound towards you. So it's load , unload, lift , in that order
What is your approach when it comes to sizing up features on the trail? 🧐
Probably not to be recommended, but the biggest drop I've done, I went into blind. I wouldn't have done it if I'd looked at it first!

A few run ups, follow a rider for speed and go around, then send it
Believe in yourself
Fab. Anna's enthusiasm makes her videos so good to watch. Thanks 😀

Why did you move away from the manual method ?

Great video. Good to see a professional coach on the channel.
Becci is great isn't she!
Nothing to fancy. Just tell us what we need to know. Perfect. More training videos. 😎👍
Enjoy this duo 👏 🔥
Thank you Anna & Becky!!! Please make more content like this!!

Glad it was helpful!
I like the short training segments with coaches. I’d like to see more.
THAT WAS AWESOME!! Watch GMBN all the time, this was instantly one of my favorite videos! Keep up the good work. 👍
Hope it was useful! Thanks for watching :)
Anna did the drop!! 😊
your dedication to your craft is really inspiring!

Great feeling when nail something you think is a bit beyond you. 👍 Great vid.
really great learning vid!
love you girls 😂 want to see more often 👍
So good id love to practice that with both of you. Have a new bike and not the confudence to do those yet.
Thanks
Have to say that the landing area for that second drop with the ladder was too narrow and worn. Soooooooo...Great job Anna!
Amazing riding from Anna! 💪
If you send that drop there are some nice braking bumps to buck you if you hit one with your front wheel.
It would be great to live in a place that actually had drops to practice on. 🥺
How far away are your nearest drops?

Will try these techniques I’m just always scared of the landing:/
明天我正准备挑战一个新的坠台,这个视频给我带来了很大的信心👍
祝你好运
Where are these drops please? These look great for progression
Llangollen downhill park! Missed it first time round ! Looks great

Yeah I think that's beyond the scope of a video you might want to hire a coach and stop trying to shortcut your learning processes. 🙄
Was that look an oh shit I almost washed out the front or friggin A i landed it or a combo of both?

While it’s true that landing slightly nose first is the best technique, it teaches control/precision to learn both-tires landing first
My biggest problem is sometimes I go off balance mid air which makes my landing a hazard at times, any tips for maintaining level on take off?
Make sure that you're taking off as straight as possible, stay nice and relaxed and central!
@@gmbn Thanks, I think I tense up so I'll try and loosen my arms

@@letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo Cheers, I also think sometimes I overthink it and it all goes wrong.
Due to health issues , the more I practice , the worse I get as arm and wrist pain from broken bones takes over .
This channel makes such great content I just wish the accents were less harry potter
