Hi I have a problem I didn’t add my partner name at the time but I want to add him now how can I do that please we did the forms and everything but it looks like a big problem now
Hello, please try not to worry too much as it should be easily fixed. At the bottom of this message is a link that will direct you to the right service which can be filled in online. You will be able to add any additional information here as well as order a new 'now correct' birth certificate. Really hope this helps and any problems, feel free to give us a shout and we'll figure it out. www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate
@@howdoyoudoobenefits hi thank you so much for your help they told me we have to proof he was with me at the time but we don’t have anything to do so, if I did this link online can I add his name thanks once again
You're welcome, it should give you the option to amend details like the father's name etc. Once the online application is complete, you should receive an appointment within 6 weeks. This is when both the natural mother and father agree to the father’s name being registered and held at your local office. Proof may just be a signed declaration from you both stating that you are the parents. This declaration will show that the mother, is happy that this is the father and the father, is happy to claim parental responsibility for the child. Both parents must be present for the meeting and the priceis no more than £11. With regards to supporting evidence and proof, with this being a legal document, some sort of proof may be needed and that will vary person to person. If no proof can be obtained, a dna test would be accepted as definite proof.... Worst case scenario. Hope it works out :)
@@howdoyoudoobenefits thank you for the videos. I'm the father and I didn't go on birth certificate because my girlfriend is trying to get help with housing. I plan to go on later this year and am worried that the birth certificate will read that I was added late, or would it look the same as if I was added originally? Thank you.
As far as I know it should register as the same as it would have if you were added at the same time. When you register as the father, which can be whenever best for you both, a new birth certificate should be issued without details of when either parent was added.
