Excellent video, I used it during my teardown and rebuild of my 1979 MX175 and it was so helpful. Thank you for posting this. I do have a question about the cylinder and head bolt torque settings. I do not have a manual and am trying to find the correct specifications in FT. Lbs. Can you help?
Hi. This is what I got from Yamaha DT250 and DT400. I do believe it is a standard for all other models. The torque depends on the bolt size in mm. If I remember correctly, the head bolt is 8mm. 6mm = 7.0 ft-lbs, 8mm = 15 ft-lbs, 10mm = 25-30 ft-lbs, 12-14mm = 30-35 ft-lbs, 17-18mm = 40-50 ft-lbs, 20mm = 50-60 ft-lbs, and spark plug = 20-22 ft-lbs.
these are a really great resource for me starting rebuilding my DT175C and help me feel confident in trying to do it, the engine you are working on is very similar to mine however i cannot figure out how the kick assembly spring attaches as i dont seem to have the extra hole in crank casing, it does have a metal pin or shaft below the clutch basket, not sure if it should go there and have not been able to find reliable information on the internet to help me, anyways great video and could i please have the parts catalouge? i will email you now
Your video has been helpful! A big hello from Central Texas. I a rebuilding my 40 year old bike. I am getting ready to watch you thread repair video. I am looking for the part number for the nylon gear that connects the crankshaft to the oil pump assembly. The parts catalogue will be helpful.

@@pattywaktdiy4175 not much. the clutch assembly, reed cage, porting of the cylinder, and connecting rod are some of the difference I can think of. But the overall assembly is the same.
Dear friend! Once again I come to use your knowledge because I couldn't find an answer on the internet. The Yamaha CT1, CT2 175cc motorcycle has a Bore (mm) 66x 50 stroke engine with the same connecting rod as the AT1, 125 cc (3R2) since the 1978 version the engine started to use a larger connecting rod (25V), however, in the Specifications say it is the same stroke and bore (66x50). I would like to know how the DT175 model from 1978 has the same stroke if the connecting rod is larger? Thanks
Hi. The stroke of the motor has nothing to do with the length of the connecting rod. The stroke length is related to how far the crank pin is to the center line of the crank shaft. For example, the 50mm stroke means that piston will travel a total of 50mm distance from top to bottom of the stroke. So even if the connecting rod is say 1 meter long, the stroke will still be 50mm. The 1970s DT175 has a longer connecting rod compared to the 90s model.

Excellent work - just for installing the oil seals - try NOT to use hard metallic items, Pins Screwdrivers to pry them in - i use normal Plastic-Tubes (like from water drainage /all diameters available /also on the web for few dollars ...) to drive those seals in evenly w/o damaging them - otherwise great !
meron nabibiling ganung bolt.

Normal bayan o may problema?

I comment mo bos yung email mo o kaya nmn i email mo ko sa philipal2015@gmail.com
Paps kasya ba yang block ng dt175 sa rs100? More vids paps
bro ano ba yung shipport?

@@DIYPhil maraming salamat idol.
Excellent work - just for installing the oil seals - try NOT to use hard metallic items, Pins Screwdrivers to pry them in - i use normal Plastic-Tubes (like from water drainage /all diameters available /also on the web for few dollars ...) to drive those seals in evenly w/o damaging them - otherwise great !
thanks for the tip.
Bos my shop din Po kyo
Wala boss.
meron nabibiling ganung bolt.
