I did my master’s and PhD at Penn State, stayed there for 6 years. This brought back memories. State College is such a lovely town.
I'd move back there in a heartbeat if I get the chance.

Received my bachelor degree from Penn State. Part of my heart is there forever. After graduation I went back to NY. Having to leave Happy Valley was depressing, but I could never live my life there. I don't think I would get the same salary as in NY. However, I know friends from undergrad that made life there. It's a very pleasant place in the middle of nowhere.

I lived there and went to Penn State. I love the mountains and State Forests up there. I feel lucky that I went there back in the 70's. Yes indeed ... those were the days my friend.

For those who have never been: State College is beautiful, as is the surrounding area. Worth a visit if you can get up there. Bellefonte, as is the case of many of the small towns around the State College area are also worth a visit. Of course, the campus is also a great place to spend the day.

Spent many years in those Hammond and Sacket Buildings. Take them by the Center County Obelisk...lol. The running joke.

Great video! I think I saw the upper floor restaurant where I injured one of my teeth on a hard piece of rice. Haha. Can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it was across the street from that one area with the big gates in the beginning of the walk. Ended up losing that darn tooth 🥲

Suggested overlay: A map of where you are each step along the way. You could re-trace your route while recording your screen in Google Maps, then overlay that on the original video.

For a college town there is scant bicycle infrastructure.

What are the weather conditions in late fall and early winter? I’m going to be doing a lot of lumber deliveries there and have never lived so far up north. Thanks

i live in state college and early fall isn’t too bad i would consider it to be “breezy-ish” but late fall is much different. even though we get snow pretty late we treat october november and december almost as if we had some snow . it gets super windy plus our temperatures can get to almost freezing but not quite 32 degrees. during this time we’ll get frost but it’ll most likely get warmer by the end of the day. this pretty much happens every day until it actually snows or gets warmer. most of the college students wear winter jackets during this time i would suggest bringing one but i wouldn’t be too worried about snow that early if that is what your thinking of. i’ve lived here all my life and i like the cold but i still wouldn’t be caught dead withought my jacket. i wouldn’t say you would need a snow jacket necessarily since the weather can go from cold to warm in 14 hours time but bring something more than a light weight puffer jacket if you know what i mean hope this helps!
