Professor Tim, where do you get your information? Presumably from Ukrainian sources. I have been following independent sources since February 2022, including the Military Summary Channel. They have plotted kilometer by kilometer the Russian advances, confirmed by video footage. Recently the brand new Ukrainian 155 Brigade trained in France was wiped out in Pokrovsk. These poor fellows had been drummed into service and were no match for their adversaries. NATO is trying to improve the situation through ATACMS missiles fired deep into Russia in order to improve Ukraine's bargaining position at eventual peace talks. The Russians claimed they were all shot down.
The Russians say a lot of things. Truth is that Russia has been bled out. They have no reserves of men or material; they're scraping small units together, throwing them at entrenched Ukrainian defenders...and dying. They're done. Meanwhile Ukraine will continue to receive Western support. It's over.
Wiped out? I do not think so. The problem with the brigade was reported first in Ukraina Pravda, of which two are that many members were reassigned to fill holes in other units and over 1500 deserted/went missing in Ukraine, while the others were being trained in France. I think you have vastly overstated your point. The Russians have made incremental territorial gains towards Pokrovsk with lots of verifiable losses. What sort of number of losses? How many vehicles did they lose and what are your sources? I am happy to be presented with some data to attempt to verify.
@@Paroxystyphel There is obviously a lot of fog of war, with claims and counter claims. Yes, the gains have been incremental over a long time, but the distances are great and the number of troops employed relatively few. Nevertheless, the Russians have 'escalatory dominance' and are advancing just enough to keep Ukraine on the back foot. Ukraine on the other hand is scraping the barrel in terms of manpower, does not have air dominance and is continually short of material. The employment of Atacms, firing piecemeal into Russia is a sign of desperation. I take no joy in this Obama/Biden proxy war which has cost so many lives.
The Ghouta chemical attack was a chemical attack carried out by the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in the early hours of 21 August 2013 in Ghouta, Syria during the Syrian civil war. Two opposition-controlled areas in the suburbs around Damascus were struck by rockets containing the chemical agent sarin. Estimates of the death toll range from at least 281 people to 1,729. The attack was the deadliest use of chemical weapons since the Iran-Iraq War.
P.S Have you ever heard of the battle of the Somme in WW1? Britain advanced and took ground during it, but we don't call it a victory because of the horrible losses of our troops. Russians have forgotten how to fight a real war and have fallen for the oldest trick in the hooligan handbook. Attack, Attack, Attack.... They are doing Ukraine's work for them.
I'm sure you must work for a Ukrainian pr group, all channels I watch on the ground, soldiers, reporters etc, depict a totally contrasting view, with facts and evidence, as a side note did you see the interview on Ukrainian tv with Zelensky and his wife, Zelensky coked up, not able to sit still, claiming he was a messiah, claiming that after visiting an injured soldier, the soldier through pure joy was able to walk again, that because of HIM, people wanted to fight and die.

Yes ok some Russians may have defected, but 100,000 of Ukrainian troops are defecting as we speak (this is easily confirmed). This war has been won by Russia (get over it). As someone rightly pointed out correctly, Russia has a 8-1 artillery advantage, this war is an artillery war, this is now a slaughter unfortunately. The casualty rate is 1 Russian for every 8 Ukrainians as per artillery (though the West deny this). Ukraine ultra nationalists want to draft their 18 year old's; they would not be doing this if they were not desperate.
"Ukrainian Ultranationalists". Why don't you FSB bots ever talk about Russian Ultranationalists???. There are more Ultranationalists in Russia than there are in Ukraine. From 2013 Wikipedia article r.e the Ghouta Sarin attack in Syria - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said "the accusations of Damascus using chemical weapons put forth by the United States are not backed by credible fact". Lavrov further stated that the Syrian government had no motive to use chemical weapons since the government already maintained a military advantage over the rebel fighters.
Everytime the rebels were losing ground, we would always hear about chemical weapons attacks. The people telling us about these "attacks" were Jabhat al Nusra (Al Qaeda) The west listened to these reports not caring if they were true just to threaten Syria with bombing if they didn't stop their offensive. At that time, the United States was literally the Airforce of Al Qaeda. The same people we were told flew planes into the Twin Towers on 9/11. It's funny how that happens.

You also mention, desperation by Ukraine due to wanting to reduce conscription age, uhm what about Russia dragging in North Korea?? What about Russia failing to remove Ukraine from the Kursk region, it's been 5 months since the Kursk invasion but to this day Russia still hasn't taken back its territory. If thay doesn't tell you the pathetic state of theRussian army, then nothing ever will. Continue living in lala land
Looks like you are using the fantasy numbers of Russia's MOD 😂
@@nobbynobbs8182Looks like you actually believe this absolute bullshit, funny how the Russian military force's are daily advancing on all of the Eastern Donbas front lines, while the Ukrainian military force's are retreating faster than the American military force's out of Afghanistan in 2021..
@@nobbynobbs8182 They are more accurate than Ukraine's ultra Nationalist fascists. Or as known before the war the NAZI's.
@@nobbynobbs8182 I got details from the green T-shirt Zelensky.
you are willing to take up the question of taxing private schools, not exactly a life threatening issue, yet you fail to highlight that we now have over 9 million people attending food banks, a life threatening issue.
Professor where do you get this nonsense from? Or do you make things up in your head like Walter Mitty.
Think that's called projection professor, get a grip.
That which is asserted wholly without evidence is automatically discarded; my advice, give some citations to your wild and crazy claims, even weak citations from the isw are better than absolutely nothing.Your input has zero value.
Don't believe one word of this nonsense
If the Russian losses are so high i could only imagine the Ukrainian ones since Russia has a 8-1 artillery advantage.
Of course you'd make that risible claim, as you've been shilling for Putin since day 1.
Reality is, Ukrainian forces are in defensive positions, Russian artillery is far less accurate than Ukraine's & artillery use is now close to parity, with ever increasing amounts of 155mm ammunition being sent to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Putin begs poorly made 152mm from NorK.
He just sits at home making things up.
Not any more
F@ck you tube & its ridiculous censorship.
Makes the whole thing meaningless.
I'm going to complain to every advertiser about whatever I can dream up in the hope of at least causing someone at YT some minor inconvenience.
Yeah, well basically......Lavrov lies a lot.
Everytime the rebels were losing ground, we would always hear about chemical weapons attacks. The people telling us about these "attacks" were Jabhat al Nusra (Al Qaeda)
The west listened to these reports not caring if they were true just to threaten Syria with bombing if they didn't stop their offensive.
At that time, the United States was literally the Airforce of Al Qaeda.
The same people we were told flew planes into the Twin Towers on 9/11.
It's funny how that happens.
@@occamraiser His position on the chemical weapons being non credible ended up being proved correct by the OPCW whistleblowers. WMDs in Iraq remix.
Lavrov told an Indian audience that Ukraine attacked Russia. The audience laughed at him.
When people talk of defections they mean Ukrainian defections so stop your BS.
