Yes I have the same issue. No one buys my 4 star it’s too expensive even in minimum price. Why we cannot set our own price is frustrating. Also why not let the players trade? That would open up the game so much and would have a lot of fun dynamics like in D2.
No joke... I collected 100 purple crests, then i decided to use them all same hour in rift. I got only 1 (one) legendary gem! Only one! And it was bottled hope 2 star. The rest was level 1 -2 craftable gems... After that im very disappointed.
So the reason you are unable to set a lower price is because someone recently sold a 4* for max value. It is common practice for Susan Express customers to buy cheap 4* gems, and relist them for max value. Once the system sees that the gem was purchased for max, it increases the lowest post value this causes the market to pretty much freeze for a couple of days. Allowing no one to list items for lower. Example of how it works: Someone buy cheap 4* for under 100k. They then relist it for 320k, then they buy illegal Susan Platinum. Susan buys the gems from them for 320k...causing the system to inflate the "value" of that 4* gem. This happens a lot with uncommon cheap 3/4* gems. On my server they were buying 3*s for 30-35k and reselling them for 128k. Illegal Susan Plat buyers pretty much locked up the market on HF, Zwens, CW, FH, and Howlers for awhile.
@@vk.videos I 100% agree. They should indeed solve the problem. I wasn't saying they shouldn't, I was just providing a reason as to why the system has been inflating the prices.
@@mars9655 exactly! But market such sensitive to manipulate is wrong market. I also noticed that even if max price was 160k i wasnt able to list lower than that. So there is some range propably which counts no matter if its 160 or 320.
If they wanted to solve this issue, a simple solution would just be giving each item a hardcap maximum value, but no minimum. This would still enforce the limitations of 3rd party plat sellers moving mass quantities of illegal platinum. It would also allow players to list their goods for a reasonable price, and markets wouldn't be able to be manipulated, atleast in terms of artificial inflation due to illegal transactions.
@@mars9655 but this is the problem we're facing with normal gems with their hard cap. There's so much demand they always get scooped up at Max value immediately. Which whenever I sell a sapphire for only 400 and it immediately goes, I feel bad that I couldn't have listed it for 500. The caps both directions are the problem.
Great point. This also applies to normal gems. I am not sure if you noticed that it’s impossible to sell rubies, as the game often sets the minimum price way above the stones available on the market. I had this happen to me for 1,2,3 level ruby. On another topic: please support VK’s channel 😊.
I couldn't agree more. I've had 3 instances of exactly this happening to me. With hellfire frag. Blessing and phoenix. I complained to Blizzard bout the hellfire. And some time later they did drop the minimum price of this gem. So after about 2 months I was able to sell it. I doubt if much will change with the current situation. Yep. Pre determined price for gems is weird bruh.. We need to be able to specify the price of legendary gems on our own as long as it is within range of reasonable value...
I guess they want to prevent some gems to be very cheap. And it could open the way for "cheap gems whales". Gems mechanics would be no use for them but resonance amount would be... however this is very poor game and market design. If they want to keep value of 5 stars then they should rework them in such way that people actually see its worth platinium. Situations like this do not happen to bsj or SB for example. However you have to pray for 5 star from leg crest. But only if its worth something. Obviously it makes situation where you actually get some platinium quite rare...
Not only that I feel like the market is corner by them. Saved up platinum from nothing all the way to be able to buy BSJ when I finally got enough bam. No BSJ for sell that was even close to the normal prices. It's crazy. I think it's all bull.
They knew what they were doing with the free legendary crests for f2p because 4 out 5 freebies results in a mocking laughter and no I didn't pull that number out of my ass
It's horrible both directions. Can't go lower and can't go higher than 400 plat for normal gems. There's no reason to limit the market prices, let the market be a free market and the players will decide the price that it's worth. No caps either direction. Supply and demand works just fine for determining price.
The issue with a free market is that people move in an corner the market, shutting out other players. They then begin to move and manipulate the market. Same with player trading. It attracts scammers, cheats, bots, and gold sellers. A locked down market is the best thing for it to keep prices stable, the issue is there are nasty little scum bags that have found a way to manipulate that market. What blizzard need to do is actually fix it, so you can't market manipulate. They should set the prices themselves within a range and not move it.
I would rather have cross-server/region market but the min/max price boundaries should be removed or, at least, made "dynamic". If nothing sells for a certain amount of time, or it only sells at min price, then it just make sense to lower the minimum sell price. Conversely if something sells consistently at max price then it makes sense to raise the max price boundaries.
So is this why something like all 4/5 hellfire fragments are posted at 160k? What allows others to be lower at times you think? Have been real curious what controls these these min/max for x/5 gems for a while Thanks! Great content
As I said my first list on the market seems quite ok. And I was able to set lower price around 100k. However I wad not able to sell it anyway so I wanted to set up like 95k. And yes if you looking at X amount of gems with exactly same price like 160k then its lowest possible price to list item.

it is a problem, because this is not supposed to be happening, it is happening because susan express and the other sellers are ruining the price algorithm. In order for them to transfer platinums, they need the transferee to post gems at an overpriced rate, and they buy their own gems thru a different account to transfer the platinum. By purchasing things overpriced, the market system will jot down the price as high, and therefoer legitimate gamers cannot sell properly their own gems because the price threshold is too high.
