I just realized that after a hard day in middle school, I would come home, bring my duck blanket out into the living room...and watch this in order to decompress. As well as nap until dinner lol. Its still soooo soothing to this day.
Used to turn this on when I needed a nap. The narrator's voice would put me out better than drugs! Don't know if I ever made it to the end of an episode!
The music itself took me wayyyyy tf back. Back in 98' I was 9yrs old. I couldn't wait to get off the skool bus to get home turn this show on & trying to fix me up a badass peanut butter sandwich & say them mofos aint got nothing on this white bread 😄😄 who else remembers watching Angela Andaconda, the kids with the big arse heads that went side to side as they talked. It came on after the chef shows. These were the DAYS yo.
Back in 1998 I was a junior in high school. I used to sit in my 6th-period class thinking about how I couldn't wait to get home so I can watch Great Chefs of The World. Something out the show was relaxing. I imagined myself cooking in a restaurant in Hawaii or some other tropical place someday. Unfortunately, that never happened! Until this day I love to cook and a big part of that is due to this show. Reading the comments it's great others also found the show and the narrator's voice to be relaxing. A lot of time I play the theme song from Great Chefs while working. It helps me focus!
Used to watch these all the time when I was younger. I knew my calling was the kitchen. I've been in some great ones & worked with some great chefs over the years. I'd watch these & dream that someday this would be me.
I love that the voice over's translation doesn't interfere with the original language. Subtitles would have taken away from the visual simplicity. Low budget but so very classy.
I used to get ragged on by my friends, but I'd always try to make sure I got home from school in time to watch this while growing up, haha. Love it. Wish they still made episodes
They're meant to be smaller plates. Usually you're having several courses in places like this. I've done fine dining for years & I've seen several different courses sent out. You don't want to eat too much of one thing when you've got 11 other dishes coming your way.
@@beedoubleu547, I get that. I experience epicurean dining all the time. But, I eat and work out. I can handle an 8 or 11 course meal. I don't eat dessert...ever.
terine of rabbit? that was just poached rabbit meat that was left to marinate in a TON of olive oil , sage leaves and garlic...then served with some green leaves with a balsamic vinegar olive oil dressing...
Was reading through comments, and it's wild how a lot of us were in middle school when we watched this. This was a very relaxing show.
Watching this show as a kid is one of the reasons I became a chef
I watched this as a kid too! I think it was on public access. I loved it so much.

They used to show this on the Food Network in the early days....now it's just dumbed down.

This is amazing. Their effortless technique’s, the flavors and textures they’re combining... it’s incredible.
This is so refreshing.
The Analogue sound from this video unlocks so many memories.
Omg i FINALLY found this!!!! Ive been trying to figure out the name of this show for 10 years
I used to watch these late at night on local TV they made me interested in cooking
I used to LOVE watching this show when I was a kid but now I'm just a lowly meat cutter lol!
One of the most important jobs in culinary!!! What would we do without your expertise??? Make messes of all meat!! Thanks for what you do!😘♥️‼️
a great look back at the contemporary cuisine at the time.
I use to watch this show as a kid and now I’m a in demand baker in my community!

Im a high caliber cook now. This show set my path
I watched these shows as a kid after school also and they meant a lot to me. Thank you so much.

Woah she cut in the exact same spot the second time. That’s skill! 2:30
Now that’s a dessert!
This show was an OG ASMR
its like watching a magic show
Damn. I need some rabbit.
Great show.
I'd like to make/taste the first two recipes..
I love the beauty of the plates but who are they feeding? That's not enough food for me. I'm 165 lbs 6 feet tall woman. I eat and work out.
That’s why I watch these videos and cook adult portions at home lol
Sadly those are " proper" portions
