UB Funkeys! I remember playing that game so much as a kid! It was so much fun!
I never understood what the game was really about (mainly because my native language is Spanish, and I didn't really learn proper English until I was 13), but either way, I was so amazed by how strange and different the whole world was. My little 9 nine-year-old mind was blown away... I wish I could go back in time and be able to experience this bizarre game once again.

I remember U.B Funkies! Thanks Vailskibum94 for bringing back some of my forgotten childhood. I've never played the game, but I did collect a few figures. I miss this shit so much, they were a good portion of my childhood (alongside stuff like Webkinz, Chaotic, Zoo Tycoon, Wizards101, and Futurama)! I really wish that they would make a successor to the pis game that was more like a traditional MMO. That would be great,
I actually remember getting a few figures for this. Unfortunately my ancient computer couldn't process it, so they were practically a worthless Christmas gift.
Now I have Amiibo and Lego Dimensions figurines, and it never crossed my mind that Funkeys were the first Toys-to-Life.
This just randomly popped up in my head at work today. I remember buying U.B Funkeys with my old crappie box computer. Super laggy but I had a great time playing it.
I LOVED this game as a kid!! I still have my figure dock, set up disc, and a few figures kicking around. It's sad to hear all the online server were shut down I always wanted to try logging back in but guess I'm 10 years too late. Still somehwat a relief the single player game still survives at least!!
I really loved playing U.B Funkeys back in 2008 when I was 6! And I am about to be 18 years old now.
This was like, 90% of my childhood. Glad to hear I wasn't completely alone! WELL over 100 characters are lying in various places around my house.
A correction: The majority of the game was single player only, but in the Dream State update you were able to go into chat rooms with other users, and some games around the Nightmare Rift and Daydream Oasis allowed for multiplayer, as did future updates. another aspect was being able to view other people's cribs.
Also, I hear that there's a way to access the game online and I wanna try it. I got a hidden Realm starter pack recently but the game won't run on Windows 10.
Dude. You didn't even mention the let's players like me. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP. Good video no matter what. But the community is pretty strong with a full on discord chat and wiki. There have been a few people like myself who have done Let's plays. There are so many things that were announced but not released like DC comics characters.

I remember having the flower dude, the vintage dj disc dude, and having that parrot one, and a couple others I was like 7 or 9 when I played this game, but I was poor so it was hard to play it.

I used to play this game a lot when I was little but back then I couldn't speak more than 3 words English. So much stuff went over my head (like the fact that this game is actually an MMO). I'm replaying the game now to see what I missed all those years ago!

HOLY SHIT! I thought I was the only one to remember U.B. funkeys! It (along with Webkinz) was basically the precursor to toys to life, which skylanders would capitalize on later. The game just kinda...vanished from the face of the Earth as far as I remember. After I finished elementary school back in 2011, we never heard from the game again, I switched my computer game activity to spore for most of middle school. Thanks for this, as it was a nice trip down memory lane.

Oh my gosh! This was my childhood! I had tons of Funkeys! I had special storage cases, I beat several areas, I despised comic con for making Dot an exclusive figure. I even shipped some of my Funkeys! (Vroom and Twinx for life!)

I loved UB Funkeys since release and still do, I still even collect the figures lol. The thing that confuses me most about the discontinuation and shut down of it is that it happened so close to the next update. It was shut down only about a week or two before the next update and line of figures was supposed to drop, and there are supposedly even still prototypes and working versions of the figures that were gonna get released.
This is game was my best Christmas gift ever, and remember playing it with my cousin like 9 years ago... now the big thing is lost in my house, and the funkeys are all around the place, it's a bit scary lol.

My brother used to play it. I'm not sure where they are but we have a lot of figures laying around our house. I remember a dog one, a blue and orange one that I loved, A mummy, a one with like a record player on his face or something and a red shirt, this one orange, white and green one and a yellow and pink one. I will be making a video soon where I hunt for some in the dozens of toy bins.

My figure hub thingy that plugged into the computer was faulty so we had to place a tiny folded piece of paper to prop the figure so it would read correctly
I swear it wasn't much of an MMO in the first place anyway. Pretty sure the only online feature was visiting other peoples cribs from the train station and maybe comparing high scores in mini games? It had random UB characters walking around to give it that feeling, but I remember even as a kid working out that they're just bots.
I loved this one and played it a lot when I was in elementary school. I would hang out with my best friend sometimes just to use some of his toys I didn't have. Anyways vail great video as always keep it up 👍

our whole family adored this game back when me n my brother were kids, and we collected at least one of every single character aside from Dot bc you had to get her at comicon, we still have a huge basket full of all of them plus the big UB funkey you plug in to play, id die to be able to fully play that game again and be able to relive it so if y’all ever figure out a way around playing it on newer systems and servers let me know

I remember owning like 4 of these figures, I saw them at mt local Dollar Store and I thought they looked really cool so my dad bought it for me, it wasnt until later that I found out that this was for a(n) MMO website, I tried to go onto it but I didn't have the larger figurine to connect my dolls so I just got stuck with them.

I used to love this game. To this day, I still search my home from time to time hoping to find my old bag of ub funkeys
*Will you be funkey!?* It's been almost 10 years... Oh how time has passed. I myself was introduced to it when a random lady gave me a disk copy of the game that they put in Wendy's kids meals. She said she had no use for it so I guess I was the next best person to give it to. Game installation disks sometimes had mini-games on them you could play while waiting for the install and this onen was no different. It was a snake clone that involved cars or something driven by the funkeys. After my initial experience, I had lost the disk, and for some odd reason, 5 years later, remembered the name of the game. Unfortunately it had shut down by then, but I was dead set on obtaining some of the figures. After countless months, I had finally amassed a collection of 30 or so of these little things.
A strange thing that keeps happening to me is I get introduced to a game, and don't play it for a while. What ends up happening is it gets shut down (Star86 and BotsBlitz met this same fate) and almost all traces of it are wiped off of the internet. Games like this hold a special place in my heart, as it brings back a lot of memories of other games I used to play that got discontinued.
Thanks for reading about my experiences with 2000s games... I just wanted to immortalize them somewhere.
