Awesome video! Very informative. I love the maps...we need maps in every video to help those of us who aren't familiar with every part of the island. Also very good information about the parking. A big issue that comes up, if you're having a birthday party or a gathering at your house there is no place for your guests to park. Ya, there is some guest parking but it's not guaranteed to be available. Good job, guys keep the videos coming!
Nice but too far to Downtown and Waikiki. Traffic is bad to and from work. You have to leave by 5 AM to make it to work at 8 AM. Be on the road by 2 PM to avoid the traffic. We were stationed in Hawaii for 6 years. It's OK if you work at home or live in the area so you don't have to deal with the traffic
Great video production, content etc. ngl, the drone footage of the area looks like a deserted plantation with multimillion dollar cookie cutter concentration camp smart meter vinyl fence pens
Ideal if you work west side or from home Otherwise.. Currently over an hour to travel 22 miles to town for work. When these homes all complete…? An extra 30 min on top of that? Don’t worry, train completes to China town in 2030? Home cost? Look at HOA costs in the area and the % increase in recent years. Some up 70% in 1 year.
More D.R. Horton modern blight. That airplane noise will be practically nothing in comparison to all the typical neighbor noise these days of car doors shutting constantly, car radios and loud engines.
One problem which you can see at 5:26. Near the highway. Thankfully electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular so that means increasingly less carbon monoxide and noise but currently that's a huge con for me.
Wife and I been watching those areas closely. Looks inviting but also looks like too much in such a small area. All the mid areas are still out of reach $$$. Not saying beach front for us that would be impossible. But watching to see for this areas. We currently live in Cali looking ..also expensive state....Hawaii for retirement living. We are still thinking. Also this area is less Hawaii....more commercialized like you said. I like to know where they are going to get the water and electricity to power these new developments. Probably raise taxes again.
The search for retirement living - a very subjective task that deserves thought, research and current data. We're willing and able to assist you! No pressure. Fill out the contact form and we'd love to narrow in options based on your timeline and needs.
Ewa Beach is directly under the flight path for commercial flights arriving at HNL. And it's right next to Pearl Harbor Hickam. So airport noise is minimal but aircraft noise is constant with varying levels of loudness.
Can't avoid having to go to town and back if that's your life-work situation. One west-oahu life hack is scheduling your commute to avoid peak traffic times. But that's if you have that kind of flexibility.
These homes and apartments look like ones being built in and around San Antonio Texas. Kinda sad to such a generic design of homes in Hawaii. Also such a huge change since i moved to the mainland in 2007.
Are you kidding? No way! The LA fires destroyed 12,000 homes and growing and are 10 times worse than Maui, which was already horrific. The West side is hotter and drier, look at the yellow and yellow-green brush in the background, there's way too much risk of a Maui or LA "moment". Windward-only - it's not just prettier with lush green, but no risk of wildfires - far safer to live in Kaneohe, Kailua, Hawaii Kai, Honolulu, maybe Mililani?
No matter where you go, nature will present high-risk challenges to you and your property. Wind, water, fire, heat, animals, plants etc. Especially when on a tropical island in the middle of the largest ocean. We're not a perfect island chain, but we feel the good outweigh the bad on a daily basis.
This is poor city planning. It's clearly about developers and Realtors trying to fatten their pockets so everybody else can suffer in traffic, I feel it should have been kept as farmland keep Hawaii sustained😔
Sorry but housing is too expensive and we have nowhere to live. There’s NO other option if everyone keeps having kids and want to live close to family. Full stop.
I’d never want to live out there! Traffic is horrendous, it’s way too hot, and there’s nothing out there. Way too many cars parked in these neighborhoods, car alarms constantly going off, loud parties, no thanks!
Just returned from Oahu after a one month visit. I would never live there. Too many drug addicts. Illegal fireworks turn the island into a war zone. There is no peace in Hawaii anymore.
Hard pass. Everything looks the same. We live in Manoa, we own our home and we love the city life. Everything is near and yes, I know the west side have their own everything, but we love the city of Honolulu.

Well when you don’t have a choice, it is nice there
the price point and newness is a big factor for a lot of families

Appreciate the feedback and the imagery 😂🤙
Great info. Mahalo.

What about Haseko homes you mentioned in previous videos?
When buying think about the daaammmm traffic going into town if you work there. 🤔 Not worth it, I'm planning on moving...😂

True, being near the highway is unavoidable at Pohaku Estates, Hoopili. But you're also near the highway, reducing travel time door to door.
Too much traffic+too many people

How bad is the airport noise?
Imagine...that the path of most aircraft come in from the west towards the airport (runway 26) and decending...

Nope! Traffic keeps me from even thinking about it.

@slkung1 Your point is well taken: Climate change is no longer hyperbole; it’s a real home-buying consideration.
West side has always been hot. Too hot. And, getting hotter. You absolutely need to A/C to live there.
AC is mandatory for a lot of us. Luckily it cools down in our "winter" season and we can get away without using AC sometimes.

So far from everywhere. Should make retirement homes or college/university and students dorms.

So true, we now have to import most of our food which is ridiculous. They never learned anything when we had covid 19.

Not your typical Honolulu vibe, that's for sure. To each their own, the West Side is growing and changing.

@@kanakapono Manoa is amazing. I’d live there.
