I grew up in Craig. I've been all over the world. That video almost made me cry. I still have friends and family there.

Wow, Craig has eagles, ospreys, trout, & pronghorn! What a special place. I may have to take I-40 next time I drive through Colorado.

This is so damn emotional. I owe land up there and try to spend all my money every time we go up. Please help yourselves, Craig. Make it through this. Much love from Littleton.

I'm from Denver, and my husband, and I want to move to Craig. We want to start a business, and raise our family in a smaller community. Great documentary!

Absolutely no one is talking about where this power will come from once the plant is shut down. It certainly won’t be coming from solar and wind. Who will be making the money going forward? That should be the biggest part of this story.

Craig Colorado after coal. “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” Theodore Roosevelt

This was a beautiful documentary highlighting solutions and providing a path forward for Craig’s prosperity after coal. We have to start working on bringing other industries here. This is such an amazing and beautiful place!

I've lived in Craig and worked at Craig Station for over 30 years. Raised kids and have grandchildren living in Craig . It's our home. I'm staying in the valley for sure.

Back in the 60s all the economy in Craig was just agriculture, then it died out in the 80s, and now what do we do?

Wow! About the time this was put up I was on a project doing work for Xcel, Haden station was one of the sites. I assume this is the power plant that will be shut down? I had no idea. I love the area although I have only been through there once soon to be twice. Makes me sad to think they are shutting down those coal related industries. This will hurt more than just Craig, solar and wind won't cut it, what's the point of natural gas if you care about CO2?. Very sad for Craig and the rest of us.

    • @cbboswell7910

Haden station will be shut down by 2028, Craig station will be shut down by 2030. And they have to be shut down, its the unfortunate reality of what CO2 does/ is doing to the planet when there is too much of it.

It would be beautiful if people transitioning out of the coal industry could be paid while training to use natural means to remediate the slag heaps, (ask me if you're wondering what means I'm talking about) and then use that recovered land to grow hemp as a carbon neutral, highly efficient fuel crop. Imagine the coal refinery converted into a hemp fuel processing facility, providing jobs and clean fuel for Craig and beyond!

Who is this person who says Craig had no diversity. Perhaps no Asians and few blacks...but there is a huge hispanic community that has been there for decades .....i went to school with Greeks. Mexicans, Boschs, Spaniards, and Italians. Maybe she is too selfish to see the diversity around her. There is a large population of bi-racial marriages there as well.
